Amazing food and service. We’re regulars here and coming here for brunch is a must!
Slow service. Slow food service. Multiple chairs with loose legs. Food was okay. Sour pear cocktail, omelet was nothing special, no popcorn served to our table, only the French Toast was a hit. I'll share in more detail on Yelp. Nearly empty but so loud!
The food was mediocre at best and the service was horrendous. All of the food lacked flavor. The server, I believe his name was Keith, was even worse. He forgot multiple items and had to be reminded several times for basic things like water and silverware. We asked for a to go item well in advance of the time we were leaving. Once the check arrived, we noticed it was never put it but based on how the rest of the meal went we decided it was for the best. Once we gave him the credit card to pay, he did try to come back and say that it will be out in 10-15 minutes but we declined.
The bathroom looked like a tornado went through. There was no toilet paper in any of the stalls, there was trash strewn about and dust covered the baby changing table.
The restaurant concept is great but their execution leaves a lot to be desired.
We sat at the bar and were the only ones there. The bartender was great very knowledgeable about whiskey and wine.
It was our first time there. So we thought to try it out. Customer service was really good. We ordered the oysters. They were really good and after we finished we saw worms on the shell. First time I ever seen little worms. We told them about and they reassured us that it’s normal and that the staff didn’t rinse them off really food. We googled it and they were correct and they even comped it for us. My wife had the braised rabbit in a pasta and it was tasteless. My daughter had the filet and it wasn’t so good. The French onion soup was ok nothing special and the 32 oz $76 tomahawk steak was mostly fat. The place is really nice casual and relaxing place and the waitress was good and the manager as well that came to talk to us about the oysters was very nice as well and apologized. I don’t think we will come back because of the food!
Good food, good drink, clean, comfortable.
The food is always good here. The price is very reasonable. Prompt friendly service, and kept an eye on our beverages for refills! This is one of my favorite spots for breakfast and brunch.
Steak did not have much flavor and the fries were grossly overcooked. There were only three tables in the whole restaurant, with at least four or five people working there. You think that they could at least get the french fries right. Like the ambience. Didn’t care much for the food or service. One cup of coffee was cold
The servers at Copperwood Tavern - Loudoun were great! Very friendly. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating area!
Food is excellent and the Copperwood Branded Cabernet Sauvignon is also excellent and a great value. Service was a bit slow on this visit but it did not detract from a nice evening.
They did a miserable job accommodating celiac. The don’t really know what is and isn’t gluten-free. They don’t have a gf menu. The server was just guessing which means management has failed. They claimed baked Brie was gf but it came wrapped in phyllo dough. They did remake it. And the result was good. But what an unpleasant embarrassing fiasco to get to that point. As far as meals go they say all of the sauces on all of their entrees contain gluten. I can cook plain fish or chicken at home. If I can have none of the amazing preparations then why would I want to go there? It was sooooo disappointing. We had a nice steak. And it was a celebration dinner so we made the best of it. But management needs to get on the gf train. Most nice restaurants do a much better job with gf. How would you feel going out and then told you can have just plain meat? There many many tasty ways to accommodate gf. Copperwood makes no effort to do anything to earn my business. Which means they will lose out on anyone I go out with. Doesn’t make sense to me when other restaurants can serve us all. Just saying.
Been here for dinner a few times pre-covid and it has never disappointed. However, I found that the brunch didn’t live up to my expectations. The food was okay, we ordered steak and eggs and they were way over cooked. The chicken in chicken and waffles lacked seasoning. However the spicy chicken sandwich was really good, and the aioli on it added so much flavor. I am hoping it was just an off day so I will be back because I really enjoy their steaks and drinks otherwise.
We were seated on the bar side, and our server briskly walked by and blurted out “I’ll get to you when I can” and kept on walking. He returned after a minute and literally slammed down 2 waters and walked away without saying anything. We left and didn’t order anything. Very disappointed. We felt like us being there was an inconvenience.
We’re regular visitors as we find the spacing between tables well considered and ventilation with high ceilings. Also outdoor dining is optional. We like the variety in foods and the drinks are made in store which has turned out be a surprisingly great.
The meals are well prepared and we tend to try new things as they are added. Proportions are really big so we usually have to split the meal or prepare to take half home.
Service is usually good but pandemic serving has been different than pre COVID.
Feels like a “safe” place all in all and we will continue to come back.
Being new to the area I have been eager to try for brunch. I must admit there are better options. The service was adequate, but not great. Server never brought an item to the table which we ordered. We had to ask for anything we may have needed. Food was adequate. Although I will say the Banana Foster French Toast was delicious.
Copperwood Tavern is always a go-to! Great menu, classic aesthetic, amazing service
Nice Valentine’s brunch.
This was our first time in for brunch. We have been many times for dinner and it’s always been excellent. I had the Lobster Benedict. The lobster was so salty. The hollandaise was good and the eggs were cooked perfectly. However, it was a little on the cold side. My husband had the steak omelette and said it was pretty flavorless. Our daughter had the pancake bites and a side of sausage. Both were delicious. I love the ambience and the service is always phenomenal so I’ll give it another shot for brunch. We never go out on holidays since the food always seems prepped ahead of time to save time. Maybe this was the case.
Copperwood was wonderful! Service was quick..attentive. Tables were arranged for social distancing...We have been there often...Love the place!,
It is very spacious, perfect for COVID friendly brunch out!
The food here is always delicious. We enjoyed the steak and Brussels salad and the ribeye. Great social distancing practices in place. Restaurant was clean, noise level moderate for a Saturday night. Service was a bit sparse but I’m sure this is because of short staffing due to Covid. Will definitely dine here again.
Ordered appetizers and the waiter came back to tell us they didn’t have the one. Ordered beers... didn’t have one of those we ordered from the menu. Then our steaks came out cooked incorrectly. Just overall not a good experience
We had a wonderful meal, with courteous service.
We felt safe and cared for.
Pre New Years Eve dinner with family and all of our meals were outstanding!!
Food and service was excellent. Only complaint was a glass of house wine was $10! Very pricey, especially at lunch.
Just started out with a cuppa coffee so we could talk a while. Coffee came from the bottom of the pot strong black bitter both the decaf in the regular. Food was OK. Server was nice. I go back I have to try something else and give them another shot at the coffee
Nice experience again, as we frequent Cooperwood for its great Food, service and atmosphere.
Hannah is the best ! Thank you ! The best happy hour deal
Nice to have outdoor dining at Copperwood Tavern. Lunch food was good, service was fair - I imagine it's hard to juggle outdoor and indoor patrons.
Great restaurant ! Great price point and incredible service ! Thank you Hannah( who worked on 11.2.20)! Definitely will come back
We made reservations for Sunday breakfast/brunch and arrived just a bit early, but were kindly seated right away. It was a rainy and cool day and the staff further accommodated us by seating us next to the fire place. The menu had a nice variety and we ordered the Bananas foster french toast and the western omlet. Both were delicious, we'd order each again! Staff didn't hover, which we like, but there were a few times we had to wave our waiter down to get more coffee, etc. Not a big deal, the place was moderately busy, so I'm sure the staff had much to do. Dining room was very bright and although open, seemed kind of cosy. We will definitely go back in the near future.
My review is specific to our recent visit for Sunday Brunch. The restaurant space is nice, our server was cordial, and I like the overall theme of the space, but our brunch meal was very underwhelming.
Poached eggs on my smoked salmon Benedict, while cooked nicely, were served cold, as was the english muffin, and lacked any seasoning. Wife's omelet wasn't bad, just nothing special, again lacking any real flavor. We had a baked brie that was wrapped in a thin and pleasantly crunchy pastry crust, but it was barely warm and lacked any ooey gooey goodness when slicing into the cheese.
My wife had a very bland Bloody Mary that lacked any distinct character. Even though we ordered from the brunch menu, they didn't serve her the bloody mary with bacon that was highlighted, which is what she had expected. Our bad for not specifying. We just assumed that's what would be served since we were ordering from that specific menu, but our server didn't think to ask if she actually wanted a plain one, which would have been a nice touch. Again, our bad for not specifying.
I had an "Iced Virginian", which in my opinion was overly sweet, and again lacked any distinction of flavor of coffee or booze....almost more like a melted vanilla milkshake than a fun alcoholic iced coffee drink.
The highlight of our meal was the raw oysters, which I believe they source from the Rappahannock Oyster Company. These were fresh, crisp, and briny, just like you want from a nice oyster, so kudos to Rappahannock.
Having spent over $120 including tip, we were hopeful to have walked away feeling like we discovered a fun new spot to return to when seeking a special brunch, but that was not the case. Let me be clear, there was nothing bad about the food, just nothing special. Your milage may vary, but these are my honest thoughts from someone who geeks out about great food.
Beautiful restaurant, great service, and awesome food!
The wait staff was nice and attentive but the food was slightly less than mediocre. I’ve been in the morning and their breakfast is great...not the case for dinner.
Nice spot. Decent menu with some variety for brunch.
This was our first visit to Copperwood since the reopening. The menu was great. Had the Berkshire Pork Chop. Best ever! Wife had the salmon. She said the salmon was very good but she raved about the rice and flavoring of it.
The staff was courteous and taking all covid precautions. Great dinner.
Great outdoor dining and good spacing inside. Great menu and variety. Excellent cocktails and bar options as well.
The service was poor, the food was okay. They served our dessert, hot molten chocolate cake frozen. We won't be going back.
we have been several times, and had good experiences before this time
