   Excelente lugar, precioso y las atenciones ni hablar !!! La comida y la selección de vinos muy por encima de muchos. Todo el mundo muy atento y presto a servir.

   Llegamos 5 minutos antes a nuestra reservacion y la Host (mujer) nos hizo esperar cuando a otros clientes los hacia pasar. Luego nos quiso sentar en una mesa alta y le manifeste que mi Esposa sufria de la espalda. La Host me respondio que se iba a demorar unos 20 minutos o mas para sentarnos en una mesa normal. Finalmente nos sentaron en una mesa cerca a la entrada donde no pudimos conocer el Restaurant. El servicio estuvo regular ya que no nos sirvieron la cesta de pan y la respuesta del mesonero es que se habian quedado sin pan. Se demoraron con las bebidas. La comida estuvo muy buena. Indiferentemente de las actitudes del host y el mesonero regresaremos a Contessa ya que nos gusta mucho el lugar. Gracias!

   Views of boston common and downtown were amazing! The food was delicious, although the portions were small and pricey. I was definitely not full after an appetizer and main course. Would return again for the views, beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food!

   We had the best experience here! Even though it was a rainy evening, the view was lovely and the food was incredible.

   Perfect for an early dinner on a beautiful day. The room is gorgeous with light and air. And open windows with fresh spring air. I was told it was beautiful and it exceeded expectations. Fun vibrant atmosphere. Meals all high quality and some creative. The acorn squash appetizer stood out. Well worth a visit

   Fabulous lunch experience. Great service, excellent food (salmon was perfect) and a remarkable and reasonably priced wine list. All this and a view of the Commons. It was the perfect setting for my daughter’s graduation lunch. Thank you Contessa for making it special.

    TLDR: Excited for this special restaurant, disappointed by the poor service and lack of attention to detail and care We went to Contessa to celebrate a college graduation, a very special and important occasion. My family brought gifts, and it was clear we were celebrating something. Despite these signs, there was not so much as an acknowledgement from the waitress. On its own, that is not the worst thing, but from such an expensive restaurant, we were expecting better. We were not given so much as a greeting from the waitress before being asked what we want to drink. After being side eyed for not having our drink order immediately, the waitress proceeds to take a place setting and the wine menu away (there were 5 place settings for 5 people there). When we kindly asked the waitress if we could have another place setting, she returned with the flatware and no napkin. After admittedly taking a while to read the drink menu, several of our members could not decide on drinks. Rather than helping or even just allowing us more time, the waitress proceeds to roll her eyes and stand there impatiently. After a few minutes, what I was expecting to be an assembled cocktail (I ordered the bellini), what arrived was a garnish-free wine with peach juice that did not look appetizing, and was mediocre especially for the price. The waitress was again impatient as we are ordering, and did not help us with recommendations or descriptions. After waiting for the food to come out, we were all quite hungry, which made the small portion sizes a little disappointing. The food was very good overall, but for the price we were all a little let down. This review is not written to sound pretentious, but for such a special occasion we were all just surprised at the very poor service at a restaurant that has been touted by friends as one of Boston’s best. The view was the saving grace of this experience that was, frankly, forgettable.
