This was an amazing experience, we had a lovely table outside in the sunshine. The service was excellent and friendly. Food was amazing. Would highly recommend. Thanks
Never been disappointed yet always great food and added bonus was getting yo sit outside on a lovely warm day.
Good value using voucher for 2 courses and bottle of Prosecco for two. Delicious food. Lucky enough to get table on outside balcony on a lovely, sunny day. Waiting staff were very good. Will dine here again.
The food was good quality and nicely presented. I had the tart then the fish and chips my husband had the prawn cocktail and burger. All of which was good, the prosecco on the deal was ok but not as good as the previous one served.
Apart from the restaurant being quiet on a Thursday night Bank Holiday we would perhaps visit again on a deal.
The option to eat Fridays and Saturdays would bring in more business.
The only major thing they need to sort out is the bad smell when you enter the bar of drains. It is quite pungent and it was the same last time also.I would never drink in the bar for this reason.
Overall a restaurant with good potential.
The food was really good and with a free bottle of wine it was excellent.I have already bought another voucher .
Had a lovely lunch food was very nice . Table service was a little to fast , but for a voucher deal very good value for money ..x
We were nicely welcomed and as it turned out that was the best part the food was okay as the menu offered a limited choice. The service though was possibly the worst that I have recently come acress
Would thoroughly recommend Citation. Food was fantastic and great value for money
Where we were seated was cold as it lead out to the smoking area. Service was terrible. However meal was lovely.
The meal was lovely although portions were quite small and items such as vegetables, which would normally be part of a meal, were charge as added items.
However, the service was excellent. Staff were quick and very attentive.
Would definitely visit again.
Despite arriving early we were shown to a table of our choice without delay. Our server took our wine order quickly and our food order followed shortly thereafter. Excellent food served with just the right amount of time between courses. Food was very nice and adequate portions, the coffee afterwards was also very good.
The portions were tiny, but tasty, not a place to go if you are hungry
Great lunch.lovey Prosecco.Great service. Would definitely go back
A very pleasant way to spend a lunch time. I would repeat the experience.
Used an itison voucher, roast beef was tough and small portions. Worth the voucher price though which included one alcoholic beverage each
Went with Itison vouchers. Never again.
Nice ambience and good service.
However , they take scrimping on portions ( for voucher customers) to a whole new level. I thought they’d left my potato dauphinois off until I spied a tiny dice like square. V poor.
Very nice, amazing food! I would go back again. Fair price/ pretty cheap for the food provided. Lovely staff.
Great food, lovely friendly & professional staff. Lovely cocktails and great atmosphere.
very nice meal served by a very friendly and helpful waiter.Great value for money
We will return again.
Excellent value for money, I would recommend it for all ages,
Great as always food and wine excelent. A A rather loud full of herself other diner but not the fault of the restaurant
Excellent value and Iovely food .
Itison voucher included a bottle of wine
Great decaf coffee
Ticks all the way.
Food was lovely - posh and well-presented but, not fussy and pretentious. Service staff were the same - great but not snooty! Would recommend to anyone.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere, a very enjoyable experience.
Birthday Celebration table for 4 persons. Food served in Bar not in Restaurant as was booked. If I had wanted a bar meal I would have gone to a Bar. Table was not reserved for us. Table was at doorway. Food was cold. Mains haggis and steak pie resembled rabbit droppings. Disgraceful.
Chateaubriand was excellent as was the prawn cocktail starter. Attentive service but it was a Tuesday night. Good value on an Itison deal.
Great bar and normally great restaurant but was very poor this Sunday for mother’s day lunch. Not sure why but very poor service and even poorer food. It was thrown together - prawn cocktail starter was like a bundle of defrosted prawns thrown into an oversized bowl and the lamb and haggis pie was like the dry burnt pie left in a cheap bakers late in the afternoon! It was as if they had given up.
Starters were quite poor (Camembert tart -too much pastry very little cheese)but main course meat (chateaubriand) was delicious. Chips were a bit over cooked and service was pretty poor.
It is quite a party atmosphere, would be good for a large group.
Excellent food had a voucher deal. Service could have been better no attention after main course arrived. Had to speak to staff about state of Ladies toilet could have been better.
Music could have been more sophisticated. It was loud and changed the atmosphere downstairs making it seem a bit rough.
We were given a voucher at Christmas for the restaurant and were looking forward to our night as we had never been to Citation before. The restaurant is very noisy and we were disappointed with our starters, Bruschetta and prawn cocktail. They were at best, average.
Our deal was Chateaubriand for 2 and bottle of champagne. Chateaubriand was fine however, we were not given our champagne! We had a gin and lemonade with our meal but the champagne was neither offered or arrived!
This was really disappointing and even more so when we asked for the bill and questioned about the champagne, the waiter was flustered and kept disappearing to try and sort it out. Moment was lost! He did offer to take the champagne downstairs for us, however, our meal was finished and we were going home. Really disappointed and annoyed that my daughter bought and paid for this ITISON voucher and we never got what she paid for!
Been a couple of times now and wouldn't hesitate to return. Lovely staff, nice food and drinks. Nice place to sit inside or out.
Service was excellent, but I had the lamb and haggis pie, when I lifted off the top of the pie was very little lamb or haggis in it, what there was was nice, partner said hers was delicious
Based on lunch no, perhaps we just made poor choices, tiny rubbery prawns, over cooked chicken, meat pie with Haggis was very dry despite the gravy that came with it, very disappointing after our last visit when the food was excellent, perhaps it's a different chef.
Received a voucher as a Christmas gift. Will definitely go back. Good great excellent service from staff
We were using a voucher we received for Christmas have never been before and wasn't sure what to expect.. staff were lovely and friendly and never far away. Food was lovely and drinks were nice aswell.
Lovely food in a nice relaxing setting. My biggest tip would be to move the table away from in front if the door out to the smokers area, especially when there are other empty tables. Even though we werent seated there I could see people squeezing past constantly as its a busy passage.
The food was great and service quick..No water on the table which would have been beneficial..
Got voucher as a gift, first time visitor, very impressed. No hesitation going back.
Although on the voucher market menu deal and choice was limited I didn't expect this to mean poor but sadly that's is what it was. From the start I couldn't get a weekend booking despite trying several times using the on online booking tool meaning I was then forced to take a Thursday evening & had to drive (no prosecco included on the deal for me then). We requested to exchange this for a couple of pints for my husband instead, very reluctantly the waiter agreed but not before making it clear he was doing something exceptional in doing so...aye right then. Even thought this was appreciated, it was point blankly refused for the pint (yes only one) to be Peroni as initially requested. The Tennents was good though I'm told (even bought another)! Anyway on to the real disappoimtment, the food. I had the prawn cocktail starter, the shredded luttuce which took up 3/4 of the glass looked and tasted like it had been sat there for a week so I concerntrated on the prawns, and yes I had to really concertrate to find any sauce covering the 'shrimps' not prawns. He had something I am sure was decribed as mediterranean veg bruschetta - ok maybe a bit traditional but the expectation was brushetta had fresh tomato and basil, this was indescribable mush with a tiny wafer thin melba toast and tasteless baby veg, not a rustic pice of bread in sight. Fish main course (for both) of haddock fiillet & lemon butter sauce was a little bit of a saviour but again let down babdly with the dauphinoise potatoes which were cut onto 2.5 inch slabs and hardened at the corner likely after being microwaved. Sad experience in a rather nice place, surely could do better with food. Wouldn't rush back unless for drinks only perhaps.
