Chevys - Northridge calificaciones y reseñas
We had reservations at 6 and the table was ready. When I sat down the floor was so sticky that my feet where sticking to the floor. I had to have someone come and mop the floor. When we ordered it took almost 40 minutes to get our food and the waiter was very slow in getting us our refills on drinks.
Been here before and it was disappointing this time around. The carb and shrimp enchiladas hardly had any seafood in it. Same with the chicken burrito with mostly rice. Service was also lacking and it wasn't busy. Hostess didn't seem to happy to step in to help. Disappointed and will think twice before going again.
My family had high expectations for Chevys, as we regularly frequented the one on Ventura in Encino that closed a few years ago. This place seemed to share only two things in common with that restaurant: the name and the free piece of tortilla dough they'll give you to play with if you ask. I ordered mahi-mahi tacos and the only thing I found edible was the tortilla, the veggies inside the taco and the scoop of corn cake. The fish was dry and chewy, the rice was salty and the black vegetarian beans were soupy and tasted like the chef had spilled half a container of cumin in them. I'm by no means a gourmet--this was just really disappointing. However, I'm giving the place two stars because my family liked most of what was on their plates--burritos--so maybe I just made a really poor menu choice. (No excuse for that fish, tho!) The wait staff was friendly and polite. The location is in the Northridge mall, so that could prove convenient for many, and the prices are very reasonable.
I would not recommend this place. I use to love Chevy's , but they have changed and we are not impressed. Salsa so hot it burns your mouth, waiter said they had run out of beans so even though it's included on the menu, it will NOT be on your plate, a MEXICAN restaurant that runs out of BEANS ??!!! really???, we didn't get silverware to eat with until long after our meal was served. the regional manager came over and apologized for the poor service and offered to pay for our meal , but the experience was so uncomfortable, and unprofessional, that it just didn't matter. also our table wasn't ready when we arrived from our long drive in even though we has called ahead. I don't think they want any non Spanish speaking people there. I noticed the Spanish speaking table next to us was attended to properly, and quickly, and they had forks , spoons, etc. IT's not necessary to make your food that damn hot with peppers! My husband ended up giving me his 1/2 eaten dinner, and he took mine. His nose began to flare, and run due to the hot spice on the tomotillo sauce. ridiculous. They had run out of corn cake, the manager finally brought me some after the fact I had to ask for it. it was just an unorganized mess. It's the new poor service that everyone is accepting as normal and it sucks.
I made a reservation online for my sister and brother-in-law, my brother and me to go to Happy Hour there. It was early enough, & not crowded in the least, so I really didn't need to make a reservation. I liked that it was very easy to find, not having ever been to that location before. Take note that if you want Happy Hour food and prices, you can only do that in the bar area. The bartender/server was great (I wish that I had gotten her name). It's always impressive to me when you can give your order to a server, & not only do they memorize it without writing it down, but then when the order is delivered, it is perfect. She did that. Awesome! The food was fresh and just great! Chips are light, crispy & almost fluffy. The salsa was more like a mild blended sauce, rather than a hot, chunky salsa. I actually prefer Chevys salsa over others. So good!
Always have great experience st this location. Love the food, drinks and the outstanding staff. My friends and I are ways playing catchup. Meaning we are there for hours. AND no staff ever ask us to leave or give side looks. BEST place ever!!!!
I have visited Chevy's in Burbank and was never disappointed. The theme and ambiance was pleasant.
The location in the Northridge Mall was McDonaldized. The theme was fast food, the ambiance was McDonald's meets Baja Fresh.
The service was lacking, we asked for two chille rellenos to be served on a single plate, they brought out two little plates, stating that they were out of the main course plates. They also got the salad all wrong and after they were asked to fix it, they said sorry and did nothing.
If you want to go to a Mexican food restaurant and be disappointed, give this place your time and money.
It was Cinco de Mayo so they had this "taco" set up & it was horrible. Wish they had had their regular happy hour menu. Also, serving drinks in cheap plastic cups?? Still charged same price & it was NOT same size and made restaurant look cheap. Only reason I gave service stars was because of JOJO who made my drinks they way we like them and the waiter (finally after having 3 different people ignore us) who helped us were nice. Stick with your regular stuff or you'll lose clientele!!
Our waitress was absolutely fantastic and she took care of everything very quickly. It was unfortunate that the meat my daughter ordered came well beyond well done – – it was so dry it was crumbling. My food which was a piece of chicken and some black beans came cold, and not just room temperature cold, but refrigerator cold even though the waitress assured me that the food was not premade and just heated up. I give her an a for effort, but clearly something needs to be done in the kitchen.
I'll chock all the errors to this being a new location and growing pains.
My soup came after my meal? Forgot my wife's drink at the bar, she never received it. Forgot one of our kids side dishes. Never came by to see how we were doing, never refilled a drink, even water unless we asked or should I say, hunted down a waiter. No chip refills either? Oh well hope the service gets better. Food and service at Burbank location much better! I miss the Encino location, that location was the best.
Really enjoy this casual local Mexican restaurant inside the Northridge mall. Have had dinner here twice recently, both times the food was delicious. I had the veggie fajitas last time, the portions were huge, flavors excellent. Gave the overall experience 4 stars because the restaurant was not crowded at all, yet we had to ask for place settings after we got our drinks. Also, when I ordered a strawberry margarita the server asked if I wanted salt on the rim -- perhaps sugar? We def will be back!
It was ok. All of the seating both chairs, and booths are awkward and uncomfortable, so strange! Service was fine but not great. I had brisket tacos, it came on a small plank.. so basically I got stuff all over the table and there was no where to put anything. The tacos were not very good, it was all a weird shredded cabbage slaw that didn't have any kind of dressing on it, and maybe 1 oz of brisket. The rest of my party enjoyed their entrees (burrito and quesadilla). The meal was $60. Bottom line is it was mediocre and for a $60 meal we should have gone to Yardhouse or Wood Ranch for lunch.
Unfortunately, it was a terrible night to remember. I had made this reservation on 11/30/16 for 2 people @6pm on 12/03/16.
My wife and I were going to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday. Upon arriving at the Chevy's @ 5.55pm, we noticed that the restaurant was closed, due to maintenance concerns.
Management staff, did nothing to notify there patrons of this closure. I would've thought, a simple courtesy call, to inform a customer of there's, that the restaurant was closed.
Apparently, customer service is not of this restaurant's concern.
We were so excited to finally go to Chevy's. We made a reservation online for a table for my husband's birthday surprise dinner. We called to let them know the birthday guest of honor would be late, and to seat the guest, but no one answered. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot one of the guest sent a picture message that had a sign saying Chevy's will be closed Thursday December 1, 2016. No where was this posted online, no where when we made the reservation, and no where in the phone message. Very disappointed!😐
This was our second time at Chevy's Northridge in 2 weeks. We went for Margarita Monday night with another couple -- house margaritas $3.00 all day on Mondays and Wednesdays. The restaurant was almost empty but we joked that everyone was home figuring out how to vote today on CA's 17 ballot issues. The strange thing was we were given 2 menus for 4 people, being told those were "the last two menus in the restaurant." Since it was almost empty we found that quite odd. The house margaritas were delicious on both occasions, the food was very good for a casual restaurant. We will continue to be guests there.
Terrible service. We got there 15 minutes after you opened. It wasn't busy when we came in....but became busy because of how much the service in our section lagged. Shouldn't have to ask for everything. Refills, more chips and salsa, tortillas (had to ask twice because he forgot), the check!!
We remembered the Chevy's that used to be on Ventura Blvd., so when I received a BOGO free coupon, I figured it's worth a try. Now located in the Northridge Mall, everything tasted pretty much like food court mall food. Everything was just OK. It seemed to have lost that Tex-Mex flavor from Los Encino. Fortunately they took off $14 and I didn't have to cook.
We've been to other locations, so far this location is our favorite. Friendly service, fresh tasty food. We were there to celebrate a birthday, a large party, and we were treated very well! Chicken tortilla soup is the best we've had. Great cocktails.
The service was good and our waitress was nice up until it came time to get our bills. We couldn't find her. Then a few were waiting for their change. Since we had a group of 10 we asked for separate bills. Since there was one couple we had 9 bills. (Better tips that way). There was about 1/2 hour once we were done with dinner waiting for bills, change or to go boxes. Other than that it was good.
The salsa was too spicy for my hubby and so were his enchiladas and tamales.
This is not your typical Chevy's - very modern design, open to the mall. We were seated in a "patio" area that was actually in the mall walkway. A little odd. Food was not to par with past experiences at Chevy's, but this location is new, so perhaps they are breaking in new cook staff. Service was attentive and friendly.
The servers and hostess were excellent. The restaurant has been open only for a few weeks. Their internet was down and had trouble retrieving my reservation but the seated us relatively quickly. The shrimp were bland in my fajitas and the vegetables were heavily seasoned. They put cheese in almost everything, even the guacamole which is hard for a non- dairy person like me. There are some vegetarian options but no vegan options at all. The homemade tortillas were the best part of the meal. It is a very noisy atmosphere. Good drinks though!!!
