   Great old building. Especially enjoyed the starters, Tuna crudo and shrimp mango stack highly recommended. We would go back.

   We arrived on time. Beautiful restaurant. The hostess asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. It was a nice night, so we opted for outside. When seated, we were told our server's name. After a few minutes, we were told someone else would be serving us. We waited another 10-15 minutes before someone finally came over. I can't give her name because she didn't bother to introduce herself, just asked what type of water we wanted and left. Her demeanor was very off-putting, and we got the impression she was asked to take our table and wasn't happy about it. We eventually ordered cocktails. One was fine, and the other was terrible. To replace the bad drink, my husband asked for a traditional Old Fashioned with a large rocks ice cube, like the one in his drink. She brought out a drink that was full of small ice cubes. Any bourbon drinker knows that this ruins the drink. She went back to the bar, drained the drink off the ice, and then put in a rocks cube instead of remaking it properly. So, it was watered down and had no flavor. Our appetizer came. Mussels with no bread. She finally asked if we wanted to order entrees. She never told us the specials or asked if we had any questions. We felt very much like she did not want to be waiting on us. By this point, we were unsure we wanted to continue the meal and asked for a few minutes. She never came back, but we could see her conversing and laughing with other tables. Eventually, another server asked if we needed anything. We asked for the check and thanked her for checking on us because no one else had. We didn't eat our appetizer and left half full drinks. This was the first time in my life when I didn't leave a tip. The whole ordeal took over an hour. We left hungry and thirsty. It's such a shame. We had been really looking forward to eating at this restaurant.

   We have dined at the Chart House several times in the past. We really enjoy sitting outside on the balcony & watching the lovely views of River Street. The food has always been good. This time , it wasn't. Our calamari appetizer was so-so flavor wise. I ordered the grilled Hallibut with olive oil. It was very overdone & dry. It took our server forever to come check on the meals. By that time, I had lost my appetite. The manager came out & offered a replacement meal. I declined & he removed the charge for the Hallibut & offered free dessert. Since it was my birthday celebration, I hardly enjoyed the meal even though financially we were made whole. With so many good restaurants to choose from in Savannah, it's unlikely we'll return.

   My husband and I both got steaks and requested them medium. Mine was raw so I sent back, it came back a second time and it was still raw. I guess by the third attempt they weren't taking any chances because it was well done and dry. I couldn't eat it. My meal was competed, but it was my birthday dinner and obviously the chef had no idea how to cook steak. We were very disappointed. We won't be back. We wanted a nice romantic dinner for my birthday and we left disappointed. Don't know if we will go back. We are Landry Members I guess we will have to see who else particpates.

   We enjoy Chart House restaurants, but the team was really off the evening of May 15. They seemed rushed and short staffed, plated food incorrectly and hadn’t had baked potatoes on the menu for several days. Really? When we visit Chart House in Weehawken or A.C. the food and service experience is top-notch. (We’re willing to chalk this to an off-night for all.)

    I agree with some of the other posts about long waits even with a reservation. We waited almost 40 minutes after our reservation time for our table. We did get a window seat in compensation. Our waitress (Jennifer) was professional, but the service we received at the bar was terrible. We waited more than 10 minutes to be greeted and have our orders for drinks taken. My Aperol spritz drink was terrible. There was too much ice and club soda and a minimal amount of Prosecco.
