Great place to eat with food from Gujarat region with a modern/western twist. Good flavours and appropriately spiced for each of the dishes. We also enjoyed the dessert- chocolate samosas and brownie chaat! My mum enjoyed this belated mother’s day lunch - and my sister who joined us was raving about it is has soon as the food arrived. Funky bollywood decor that adds the charm of this restaurant. Good options available for kids and staff assisted me with options for my son who has allergies. A lovely lunch out with the family which definitely warmed us up for on a very wintery day!
Second time eating here & every bit as enjoyable as before. Great food, creative cuisine, good service. Quite noisy, but not surprising in a small & very popular space
I can’t say much more other than this place is brilliant. I am lucky enough to live close by and whenever we have guests this is the place to take them!
This is again and again one of the best latest additions to Hammersmith's food/restaurant options, especially as opening times were now extended for lunch. Very recommendable place!
Enjoyed a good meal last night. Ordered plenty of dishes but no mains. The lamb chops and biryani stood out for me but others preferred the pani puri. Good service and very attentive.
This isn’t 4th visit to Chai Naasto food & service is EXCELLENT we are always so well looked after by the warm & friendly staff. Food & cocktails are fab x x
Excellent vegetarian selections, authentic tasty dishes some with an interesting twist. Prompt service, although better to order starters and mains separately as everything arrives at the same time if ordered together. Reasonably priced. Easy parking . Will definitely return with friends and recommend to others.
Its a very small restaurant and if you have a toddler like i do be prepared to have some entertainment at hand to keep them in one place because you cannot afford them walking around. There is no space for a stroller so dont bother with that. I didnt have one but a lady who walked in after had one and couldnt bring it in. Finally space is very limited so on a crowded Saturday night ypu canhear the next tables conversation. On the other hand food was a class. Only the keema pau was disappointing because I felt there was too much masala in the keema and was a bit unbalanced for my liking so was uncomfy later on:)
Excellent tasty dishes from different regions of India some with great twists and served in an imaginative way. Every dish tastes delicious
Another lovely meal at Chai Naasto. The food is really flavoursome, especially loved the lamb biryani, and samosa chaat and chicken tikka dishes. Cocktails are great especially if you can make the Happy Hour (ends at 7!).
Sunday lunch with friends, the food was amazing! Indian steeet food was delicious, flavours were spot on and I loved every dish especially the lamb somosas chat. I'd go again, the only downside is that it is very small inside so wasn't ideal taking a pram inside as it was hard to move around. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and would go again.
Well, it was not quite the perfect start for us (party of 4) as had to wait for 10 mins, even though we had reservations from 2 days in advance. However, all that wait and h-angry faces were gone as soon as we had food on the table. Fantastic food, interesting take on small plates (Indian street food) plus the mainstream curries were spot on. Butter Chicken, Tandoori Sea Bream, Lamb Biryani couldn’t be more authentic (unlike Talli-Joe and Dhishoom). Service was good too, owner was waiting tables that night and was kind enough to offer some drinks to make up for the wait. Before we left and had hearty chat with the owner, he himself being a big time foodie he planned to bring best of Indian street food and without losing authenticity, and the food has done enough justice.
To sum it up, fantastic food, great service and definitely will make you visit again for more...
Dropping 1 star for less seating space.
We really like coming to this great little restaurant. Delicious food and a fun interior!
Tasty, mostly value for money food with decent portions. Highly recommended by Indian friend. Super swift and competent service. We loved the lamb biryani! I can't wait to try the vegetarian branch in Harrow. I removed one mark out of 5 as one of the lamb chops was really tough and I thought that dish served with mash was far too small for £10.
Food was amazing and changes every 3 months which will I will be back for. I've been there twice in the past 3 weeks, and the manager/owner was really lovely too.
Very fast service and excellent family-friendly atmosphere. Place is a bit small but the décor is exceptional.
The Soft Shell Crab was superb
Lovely Indian street food and brilliant decor in the restaurant. Cocktails were great, quite strong actually. However, service could definitely be improved.
Great food. Eccentric service.
good food left in a good mood.... good value although the girlfriend was a wimp with the spices, very tasty and comes recommended by us......
Excellent food and service! Highly recommended!
Nice little restaurant with a great Indian cultural look. Excellent food and great service.
This was my second visit to chai naasto. 1st time I went it was fairly new - and I loved the food, the customer service and everything was consistently good! This was my second visit and i had recommended it to my friend so I was a bit worried but I have to say the standard was the same if not better! She was thoroughly impressed too!!!
We enjoyed everything we ordered - I noticed one of the dishes (kale chaat, my favourite!!) had been made larger which was good as it was easier to share!
On both occasions I’ve been here, I felt welcomed and service has been really good. I love their children’s menu - they cater really well for families with children! My son always remembers the food he eats and talks about going back!
I accidentally booked for the wrong evening(lost count of the days over the Christmas break) yet they were extremely accommodating even though they were busy, which we really appreciated as we were with young hungry children. The venue was very cool and trendy with a Bombay cafe style. The dishes were extremely tasty and were offered extra pooris for the pani poori when my children polished them off. Highly recommend this restaurant well done to you all!
Smaller than we thought it would be when booking, but the cosy feel was great. Service was great - prompt with good recommendations and friendly. Food arrived quickly even though the place was packed. Food tasted great - amazing flavours. will definitely come back.
food was decent but occasion spoiled by being rung by the restaurant two hours before telling us we only had an hour to eat our food - this was my family Christmas eve lunch so put a dampener on things - we compromised by coming earlier- they blamed opentable for accepting the booking at the wrong time - either way wasn't pleased about it
Our 7th revisit to Chai Naasto Hammersmith has exceeded all previous ones this year. We had family over from the US who were seeking authentic flavors and we left the ordering for 8 people with Puneet and his team. We had the usual selection of Pani Puri, Pav Bhaji Fondue, Tender Lamb Chops, King Prawns, Kebab Paratha.
We were informed they were sampling their new menu and we were the first to try their Chicken Tikka Chat, Tandoori Murgh with their new Family Naan.
We had those alongside the delightful Butter Chicken and Daal Makhani. The bar manager then came to our table with two new cocktails one with Dark Chocolate and Baileys
and the other an Indian twist on my favorite Caipirinha which was a touch sweeter with their infused chai syrup. This brought back memories of growing up back in Brazil in the
80's and the rustic vibe in this restaurant was amazing on the night. Well done Chai Naasto for making this pre-Christmas meal with the family so special.
Excellent food, friendly service and great atmosphere
We had an excellent experience here and would highly recommended to anyone thinking of coming here!!
We were one of only two tables on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Food was incredible and thoroughly enjoyable. Pleasantly different from your bog standard Indian. Would definitely recommend and return again!
My friend and I went here for lunch. Unfortunately there was very little atmosphere as the place was empty. This did mean that we had the advantage of undivided attention from the staff. The food was tasty and it was reasonably priced. I would consider this place again for some evening food when perhaps it might be a little more lively.
Love this place. Been many times and will continue to go. The food is better quality, more creative, fresher and tastier than any other Indian food in the area - Zing even seems to have copied a couple of elements!
This is my third time at Chai Naasto, and it just gets better each time. Service is great, food is excellent! Already planning my return visit!
Amazing food amazing service, cant fault it! Decor was perfect, took me back to my roots!
Really interesting array of food, with refreshing and tasty versions of well known dishes and lots of exciting new things has to try. Curries are great, but would recommend sharing more starters for variety and interest. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Excellent service, excellent food. My second time there and I'm very impressed. We were early by about one hour and they even accommodated.
The food is totally amazing. It is a shame that having spent £250, they told us to vacate the table after 2 hours. This is unacceptable and we were asked to sit outside in the freezing cold.
Food was good, service was ok, food took a very long time to come. But overall good.
Amazingly authentic food, served creatively. The chefs are super talented, the staff is friendly and the place is over all warm and cosy. It's a must visit for every foodie who loves Mumbai or Bollywood or just the street food. 100% recommended!
Chai Naasto never disappoints. Food is creative, tasty and overall great experience from a customer point of view
