The new patio area is amazing. The staff were warm and welcoming. We had the ravioli with mortadella and burrata special, octopus and caprese followed by cannolis and tiramisu. It was my first time there and I will be coming back and recommending it to friends. 10/10!
Great service, delicious food, and a fabulous atmosphere. Couldn’t have asked for more. Our top restaurant find in SD so far.
amazing! pesto is delicious!
Tables and chairs were dirty when we sat. Service was good, but food was average
Authentic, excellent, fun!
Absolutely delicious and wonderful service! This is one of our favorite date night spots and come here frequently :)
The service was excellent, spot on. The food as usual was over the top. Presentation was very good. Love this restaurant!
This place was really cute! From the pink uniforms of the wait staff, the quirky dinnerware sets, and dim lighting, it felt very cozy. It might have been too dim to a point where it was a little hard to read the menu unless you held it up against a light source. I made reservations for my
Birthday on a Monday night. Because I was seated on the side near the parking lot/residential area, they couldn’t sing me happy birthday, which was honestly fine by me! I never know what to do when people sing happy birthday to me anyways haha. Along with that, I was swerved a free dessert by someone else from the kitchen who wore an adorable pink apron. The wait staff was very attentive and made sure our water glasses were never empty. I was also checked on twice by who I assume to be the manager.
The food. THE FOOD. It was amazing! I could drink the Bolognese sauce. I literally cleaned my plate of the (prosciutto) Ravioli Emiliani special! The insalata di melone was also so unexpectedly delicious! I’ve never had this dish before, so I didn’t know what to expect but really glad we ordered it. Lastly, the cannoli was perfection! Not too sweet but creamy and just delicious.
Great food and great service. Best pasta place in San Diego.
I love their Italian language and food. So good
It was an amazing dinner as always! The papradelle short ribs & both the desserts we got were amazing. I recommend all of our family and friends to come to Cesarina when they are in town. Love this place!
Incredible- best Italian! The tiramisu! WOWOWOWOWOW
Ok, this is serious - but personally I believe everyone deserves the freedom to express their real and serious opinions when they need to, and I just have to get real and serious for a minute right here right now.
Anna and I just had an experience tonight in Pt. Loma that may have changed our lives.
We sat outside at an Italian restaurant called Cesarina that we heard of from stalking Troy Johnson’s stories. Everything we had for dinner was wonderful, but then at the end of the meal something happened that I’ll never forget. This is serious. Pay attensh.
We had a tiramisu that was like nothing you’ve ever had in your life. Good Lordy Magordy it was so good. It was a “deconstructed” tiramisu - where they assembled it fresh, poured hot espresso over the ladyfinger sponge cookies, ladled on fresh mascarpone and sprinkled powdered chocolate on top. It was warm and melting and chocolatey and creamy and absolutely mind blowing. Normally it’s done table side (but y’know covid), but regardless it’s worth going to this restaurant just to try this amazing dessert. It was by far the most incredible and original tiramisu I’ve ever had, and best believe ya boy’s had some ‘su. I did not include a picture here because honestly the photo I took was straight garbage town and did not do justice to what I tasted which was unbelievably, ridiculously delicious.
The service was great, which is rare these days. A proper waiter is not an order taker. They will provide you with suggestions and recommendations to enhance your experience. This is just what our waiter provided.
The atmosphere did not match, however. This was not the case everywhere in the restaurant, however, but we got stuck in the far back table in the newly-provisioned outdoor seating. The table was right next to the door leading to the kitchen. Every time a waiter, busser, or hostess went in and out, a spotlight blasted us for about 5 minutes at a time. Furthermore, you could smell the odor coming from the trash.
Strong advice to the restaurant: DO NOT SEAT THIS TABLE! What a horrible experience to such great dining otherwise. Completely unnecessary.
Everything was perfect! The server was so lovey and had great recommendations
Beautiful setting, great service and wonderful food!
Excellent, fresh food. Fantastic staff and plenty of space for social distancing on the outside patio. Also, didn't feel rushed to eat and leave. Will be going back.
First off, it was a 39th wedding anniversary brunch that I made reservations for and sadly we did not receive a single mention or greeting. Why ask on the reservations if it’s a special occasion then? Secondly, our server was irritated at our large group of 10 and decided to show that by speaking very fast while explaining the menu and the off menu. He looked visibly annoyed especially when we asked about the bottomless pitchers for brunch cocktails. When my husband asked for two pitchers of bottomless drinks, he corrected him by yelling, “You have misinterpreted what was mistranslated from the very beginning!” Okay. I guess that means no pitchers even if the menu says $16.50/Pitchers. Maybe they should take the word pitchers off then? Honestly, I was afraid to ask questions because I thought he would yell at me too. Blond guy with long slicked back style, late 30’s I didn’t get his name, don’t think he told us.
Thirdly, the food was described better than it tasted. The seafood risotto was aldente but lacked flavor and the prawns sorely overcooked and mushy, the calamari appetizer were tough and not tender, my dish the pane cunzato- don’t order that. It’s just a piece of bread with an unripe green tomato, unripe red tomatoes (not heirloom ripe ones as the menu says) with cheese and two eggs and no flavor AT ALL! The best part was their tiramisu, as always delicious. Sadly, they don’t serve their cannoli at brunch.
The price for the value was not worth it. The owner came to say hi and he was nice. But again, not even a thank you or a congratulations for choosing to celebrate with us.
So overall, the experience was a 3 or less. I would come back for the dessert but I would not recommend the place to my friends. I might come back and give it a second chance since it was my husbands first time there.
The food was amazing, our wait staff very attentive and pleasant. Will definitely be going back!
Delicious. Great service. Mussels and clams were
Delicious. Chicken was hard as a rock. My husbands pasta was delicious, wine a good value. Service perfection. Parking a pain .
Lovely, authentic Italian food.. Their outdoor space is pretty good considering the circumstances. Wine selection is top notch.
Nice people, great food and their patio spaces are comfy. I had the mussels and clams appetizer. Very nice broth. The table shared to stuffed squash blossoms and declared them delicious. The mushroom and sausage sauce, caccio de pipe, lasgna and special raviolis were excellent and the servings ample. Definitely worth a return visit.
Wow! Food was delicious!!!! I recommend eating at this place!!
Just phenomenal! Absolutely the best authentic Italian food possibly in the entire San Diego area. You will absolutely not regret going here, I will be sure to come back often.
Awesome! Such a great, authentic Italian meal. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. Pasta was perfectly al dente and so very good. Cannoli perfectly crisp. Truly a great meal abd evening and we will definitely go back.
Had such an amazing experience for brunch we came back for dinner and the food was SO GOOD. Don’t miss out on this place. Best vegan meals I have ever had.
Simply amazing experience! We were in the Point Loma area and wanted something flavorful and healthy (it’s a difficult combo sometimes) for lunch on a Saturday, and lucky is stumble across this beautiful and delicious hidden gem! We were able to get seated right away by fun and polite servers in their super cute and elegant patio area. Since we arrived just a few minutes before lunch begins, we had both the brunch and lunch options to choose from, we were very happy with the thoughtfulness of the servers and all the staff here. We had dietary restrictions and they are super accommodating and completely understanding. The menu choices were plenty and alll look wonderfully yummy. We are so happy with this place we already booked another reservation for dinner within the week to return!
This is a great restaurant and clearly with experienced and proper management! Food is great with exceptional ingredients and even better chefs. We are pleased and will be coming back and spreading the word in the meantime! Please stay awesome!
Amazing service, food, and coffee!!
The best Italian meal I’ve had in San Diego! I can’t wait to go back!
Our experience was fantastic. The food, staff and atmosphere was great. Tommy was our server and very courteous. One of the Partners also stopped by to check in on our experience and was so supportive of his staff. Great job!
Always a great place for lunch or dinner. Food was amazing and service was top.
First visit to this newer neighborhood restaurant, very pleasant dining experience, food was great, the staff was very friendly. They have done a good job with incorporating the outdoor space available to them.
We were very tired and wanted to enjoy a good meal. We ordered the chicken entree and had high hopes for it as it sounded good on the menu. We also ordered the fettuccine Bolognese and later a dessert. It’s sad to say that if we hadn’t ordered the dessert, we would’ve been completely let down and the date night ruined. The chicken entree was crispy but that’s all it had going for it. It was very bland to what we would’ve otherwise expected at a decent Italian restaurant. The bolognese was fair considering we were hungry, but it wasn’t satisfying enough to finish. It’s such a shame because the ambiance was enjoyable, and the servers were attentive.
great cocktails and great service! one of my favorites
Cesarina is always amazing! It never disappoints. They always have new options and the service and ambience are incredible. I’m loving their new outdoor sitting too.
Phenomenal service, delicious food! They have amazing homemade fresh bread and their menu is outstanding
Cesarina is hands down my favorite restaurant in San Diego. They go above and beyond...every. single. time! Amazing staff, food is something you leave a dream about, and a cute little atmosphere!
Nice place, delicious food, good service, I recommend this restaurant!
Love this place ! Service is great! Food is delicious! Always a must when I’m in the area!
Delicious house-made pastas, filling and creative dishes. The outdoor space is distanced and seemed very safe. Delightful date night for us!
