Casa Mission - Cozumel
Casa Mission offers our guests a unique atmosphere that transports them through the history of our country and gives them the opportunity of enjoying a magnificent Mexican and seafood restaurant in Cozumel.
It's a beautiful and unique corner surrounded by gardens and fountains, framed with exotic birds and centenary trees.
Today, this property belongs to the Miranda Morales family... You'll enjoy this great architecture with tall ceilings and large hallways of the Casa Mission dining room, cause it's here where merry happenings are done... the scents, flavors and unique details of this magnificente Mexican Hacienda make you feel at home.
Great food. Got the lobster special - amazing. It was fresh and cooked just right. Equality delicious was the avocado and shrimp appetizer. All muy bueno. We're go everytime we're in Cozumel. The garden and landscaping are spectacular.
Wonderful last night on the island. Had a great experience!
The setting of Casa Mission is phenomenal and totally worth the 20 minute walk from Centro. Every course was amazing, from the guacamole made tableside to the sangria and incredibly tender lobster special. And the service was beyond, we would travel back to Cozumel for this restaurant alone !!!
Wonderful, authentic colonial style mexican restaurant. Beautiful, open grounds. Fun atmosphere, good for couples or large groups. Very family style. A little bit out of the way, but worth the effort. Go there when you visit cozumel!
Been here several times before and main course this time was just ok. Had the seafood platter. The setting music margarita and fresh guacamole was outstanding as always. Just disappointed in the fish and seafood. Will go back because it’s such a beautiful place just food is not the quality it was before
Beautiful grounds and open air restaurant. The drinks, food and service we excellent. The lobster (house specialty) is fantastic.
Service was mediocre at best. Food was okay, but I wouldn't go again. Much better places to eat. This used to be one of our favorite restaurant in Cozumel. I would not recommend it.
They have wonderful food, ambiance and service. The lobster and ribeye were wonderful. A sexy coffee is a wonderful experience to end your dinner.
The environment was wonderful. Service was great as was the food. Highly recommend.
Excellent atmosphere, beautiful location, good service, surf n turf was very hood, filet cooked to order. A great evening!
An authentic Mexican meal in an oasis within Cozumel. Loved the food, the service, and the gardens. Highly recommended and very affordable.
This is a wonderful restaurant. The food was ample and delicious and the staff is great. They go out of their way to be helpful and make it a great experience. I highly recommend it.
We celebrated New Year’s eve at Casa mission. It was very festive, decor, music, and service was spectacular. Food was good very traditional, nothing special for a foodie, but the ambience was fabulous and I can’t say enough about the service it was fabulous.
Terrific flavors. My only complaint was the enemic dessert menu.
Wonderful experience! Happy new year!
We had an unfortunate experience. The servers somehow forgot our table (of nine!) and left the food in the kitchen after we had ordered. When they finally realized they had forgot (over an hour later) they brought our food out cold. Food was unappetizing. No one ate their meal. We were told they would take 20% off the bill but ultimately we’re charged full price. I would not go back. Very disappointing experience. Not a good local experience.... many other fantastic places to eat in Cozumel.
A great place for a family meal. Beautiful gardens and even a small play structure
Beat bargain authentic breakfast on Cozumel.
The restaurant was very. Good food, service, ambience. I think it is definitely one of the best in Cozumel.
I made a reservation on Open Table, however the restaurant did not have my reservation!!!
We had a great experience at this restaurant. The staff were attentive and not overbearing. The food was good. The service was exceptional. We weren’t rushed and we were able to have a casually paced meal. We enjoyed the tequila tasting afterwards and I now can appreciate small batch handmade tequila. This restaurant may be off the beaten path but it’s well worth the trek. Visitors from the crew ship will definitely want to check this out for a refreshing change of pace from what you usually get on the main strip.
We decided to forgo fixing our usual Thanksgiving feast and instead, took a cruise that landed us in Cozumel on Thanksgiving Day. We took a taxi from the cruise pier ($20) and made our way to Casa Mission. We could not have made a better choice. The grounds around the restaurant are magnificent with a lot of photo opportunities. There were three of us and we each ordered differently. All meals were superb, but the best one was the coconut shrimp - giant shrimp coated with coconut that we dipped in the accompanying creamy sauce. The lime soup that came with the meal was fantastic. I also had one of the best margaritas I have ever had. So if you are getting off the ship in Cozumel, you must visit this restaurant.
We were very happy with this place. All the meals ordered came out hot and very tasty and the drinks were good.
This was not our first time at this fantastic restaurant and it definitely won’t be our last! One of our families favorite places to dine in Cozumel!
Wonderful atmosphere and service. Although not on the menu, very good chiles rellenos.
My now adult son and daughter and I were on a diving trip to Cozumel and stumbled on Casa Mission walking to our lodging. The beautifully manicured grounds are what initially attracted our attention. We were looking for a place with a chill vibe to have a nice meal so looked online for reviews and liked what we saw so used Open Table to grab a spot and headed that way. It was a terrific experience. The service was spectacular. The assembled pico de gallo and guac right at the table and that was a fun start. The food was quite good and while a little more spendy than a lot of the places in town it was not terrible by any means. I will return to Casa Mission on our next trip and am confident that we will have a good meal in quiet pleasant surroundings again.
What an experience! This restaurant is actually on the patio of the owners estate in downtown just a few blocks inland. By far, it was our best dining experience of our entire trip. The staff bent over backwards to insure that we had a great dining experience. Food was wonderful and I especially recommend the Surf and Turf
To top the might off, we highly recommend the SPECIAL coffee drink for dessert. It is a show within itself where they actually turn out the house lights. There are a couple of Mission restaurants, so make sure you go to the main one at the owners in-town estate and garden. CASA Mission. ENJOY.
Last day on Cozumel. Love the ambiance. The grilled crab cakes special & lobster salad were awesome!
Tableside Caesar Salad
Surf & Turf
Tableside Flaming Dessert Coffee
By far my most favorite experience ever!! The food and the atmosphere far exceeded my expectations.
We go to Casa Mission every time we come to Cozumel. This time was very special because we took fresh Mahi Mahi that my husband and his friend had caught the day before and the chef prepared it for us. It was delicious! We also had their delicious sexy coffee.
We always love Casa Mission, it is one of the 1st places we go to when in Cozumel which has been every other year since 2010. The food is good, the service is great and the sexy coffee is a must for the presentation alone!!
The only thing I would recommend is that they have specials since their menu has not changed since we've been going there.
NEVER A DISAPOINTMENT! Go and go back again and again....
The service was horrendous. Waited 10 minutes for water after asking for water twice. Had to ask for a server to order an appetizer. The restaurant had 5 tables and it was quiet. Had to track our server down again to place an order. Asked for a glass of wine twice. Then asked for a second with my dinner never got it. 3 of the 4 adult entrees were cold. Potatoes were not cooked steaks that were supposed to medium were blue rare and cold. Medium rare steaks were burnt and dried out and cold. The lobster was cold and rubbery. The garlic butter was tasteless. They had a person come and take our picture. It was 400 Pesos, I gave him 500 and he came back 5 minutes later that they didn’t have change but for another 100 Pesos they would give me a better frame. I asked for my money back and he hesitated and said he would look for change. I demanded my money back and he reluctantly gave it back. After we received our meals a second time not cooked correctly but at least hot. I asked for the check. Not once wait 5 minutes not twice wait 5 more minutes. So I went to the lady’s table that does the billing. I asked for my bill.If you don’t like it it’s free. And they removed the charges.
Casa Mission was once a jewel of Cozumel. Now it’s a sad lazy bygone restaurant.
It was our second visit to Casa Mission, and again we had a great time. The food is very good, even though they don't have a huge variety of choices. Great fish and seafood. Friendly staff and a little extra treat watching the preparation of "sexy coffee". We plan to go back to Cozumel again, and will very likely visit Casa Mission next time.
Nice meal and good food- tasty steak and good Caesar. A bit slammed for a Tuesday night.
Unique experience with very nice music and entertainment
If you're looking for amazing food, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, and reasonable prices for fine dining this is the place. The grounds consist of a walled full city block, beautiful grounds and gardens, and are a part of the owner's personal residence. We enjoyed a Shrimp Cocktail and Shrimp & Avocado appetizers, Paradiso and Caesar salads, Lobster House Specialty, deserts and drinks. The Shrimp & Avocado appetizer was outstanding as was the Caesar salad. The lobsters were large and perfectly prepared. The staff was attentive without being over-bearing, extremely polite and knowledgeable. Our waiter had worked there for over 30 years and the restaurant had been in the owner's family for more than 50 years. If you want and memorable dinner away from crowds, tourists and noise, Casa Mission is perfect!
Recommended by acquaintances we met. Had the Surf & Turf (filet and lobster) - awesome! Ribeye steak - excellent. Mexican platter - very good , but highly recommend the steaks. Beautiful setting! Can’t say enough.
Our second time there; the food and service was as good as the first time which is why we went back the second time. We were surprised when the manager welcomed us back; and may again on our next trip to the island.
Amazing place. Lobster tail is melt in your mouth. Get the sexy coffee! You won’t be disappointed!
