Welcome to Carpaccio American Dream
Many years ago, in the sun-drenched hills of Sicily, by the Mediterranean Sea, lived a young lady named Rosalia. Her cooking delighted all who were fortunate to dine at her table and enjoy her food. Rosalia married Nunzio Billante and throughout the years, she passed down the mouthwatering secrets of her cuisine to their children. Her son, Tom, learned those secrets from a young age. He knew that a simple blend of fine, fresh ingredients with careful preparation and a little love was the key to a memorable experience!

Determined to share these wonderful flavors, Tom founded the original Carpaccio in the luxurious Bal Harbour Shops over 25 years ago, serving elegant, traditional, and exquisite Italian food. The success of this endeavor was based on an uncompromising commitment to quality and to careful attention to the smallest details. Now this iconic establishment has come to the American Dream.

I booked a late dinner reservation on a Friday evening for my wedding anniversary. I was excited to take my wife for the ambienace, food, and drinks based on what I had seen in social media. The place wasn’t busy but it felt like the staff was rushing us through the apps, entree, and dessert; which was off-putting because I was hoping the night would be an enjoyable one. The expectation was to celebrate a very special day while enjoying fine dining and instead felt that we were essentially being put out. For example, we ordered one drink and were never asked if we’d like another or asked if there was anything else we’d like period. We had to rush to order the dessert because the pastry chef was heading home soon. I understand our reservation was later in the evening but if they offer a 9:45pm slot it shouldn’t have to feel like you’re being pushed out of the restaurant figuratively speaking. Also, we ordered a pricey 10oz filet mignon which was definitely NOT filet mignion and wasn’t lean meat at all. Needless to say, we will not be returning to or recommending this restaurant.

Food was delicious. Honestly, for a mall restaurant I am pretty impressed how delicious the food and good the service was! Steven was our waiter and we enjoyed his enthusiasm and energy! We will be back every time we go to Metlife stadium!

I wanted to love this place, but honestly the service is great, the restaurant is beautiful but the food is abysmally sub par and over priced. I don’t mind paying extra money when the quality of the food is good and it’s delicious, but this is not the case. My penne vodka sauce tasted watered down, my nonna’s meatball smelled and tasted like ground up hotdogs, and my chicken parm was served cold. The servers were great and attentive but they can only carry a place so far. Definitely will not be going back there. I get better food and for a lot less money at my local pizzeria.

Unfortunately, this was our last time at Carpaccio. We had a reservation and were seated right away, but our server took his time coming to the table and had an attitude from the start. Even simple drink requests seemed to annoy him. We ordered our food, and 40 minutes later he finally came back to tell us they were out of the fish we ordered. At that point, only our drinks had arrived, so we decided to leave. We explained everything to the hostess and offered to pay for the drinks, but they kindly told us not to worry about it. I understand busy nights happen, but the poor communication and unfriendly service made this experience very disappointing. There are plenty of other great restaurants at American Dream, so we’ll be choosing one of them next time.

The restaurant is beautiful however it was really warm. Also, service was a bit slow; however it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was extremely busy.
