Mezcla de sabores ideal, probe las tostadas de pulpo y el sope de chicharrón prensado ambos deliciosos, el postre bueno sin hacerle justicia a la comida. Regresare a probar el resto de la carta.
Excelente la comida y el lugar muy agradable. Le falta ambiente pero la gente va a comer sus deliciosos platos.

It’s a nice place, the food it’s ok, in my opinion the “Sope de chicharrón prensando” was outstanding. The place it’s beautiful at the eye but poor at the ear, the tables are so close between each other and you can’t have a quiet conversation.

I will write in English because it is my native language. I adore Mexico and it’s food. We have eaten lunch and dinner in excellent restaurants with great food and service, but this was not one of those times.
The waitress was very nice and accommodating. The head waiter was terrible! I wrote on my reservation and told them in person that I was allergic to nuts. I chose the crab meat tostados and the pork speciality (year round X-más) and something had nuts in it. We had to leave without finishing dinner due to my having an allergic reaction. They insisted nothing ordered had nuts, but my body was reacting nevertheless. The head waiter didn’t seem to care and showed no empathy.
The worst experience on this trip! I went back to the hotel and took a Benadryl and waited to see if I needed to go to the hospital for more attention, fortunately I showed improvement and crashed.

Beautiful restaurant with a terrific ambiance! However, perhaps we came on an "off-night" because our food was just "ok". Our appetizers, the pate and the shrimp and octopus carpaccio, were amazing! However, I ordered the sea-bass as an entree and it was rather dry even though it sat on top of a cauliflower puree, and my friend ordered the "faux risotto" which was unbelievably salty! But our drinks and mango dessert made up for it and were also excellent! The last comment was that while the service started out great at the beginning, it became progressively worse throughout the night, by the end of our meal I was almost certain our waitress had left the building because we hadn't seen her in a very long time.

I liked it a lot, good is great. but... the music was very bad. They should improve it. And the birthday dessert was also bad, they should delight with their best option not the average one.
There are so many fantastic restaurant options in Mexico City. This is one that deserves repeat visits. Do not miss the cannelloni.

Great place with superb service. All of their flavors are familiar but have being crafted in a way that challenges your senses. Definitely will come back.
The food was a pleasantly unexpected. I mean I expected it to be good. But it tasted way different than I thought it would. Get the tosadas mentiras and you’ll see what I mean. Wonderful experience, loved supporting a young woman in a male dominated industry, loved meeting the young and talented kitchen staff, will definitely be back!

This is my fourth and last time at Carmela. My first time was when it first opened. It was really on its way to being one of Mexico’s Best. Every time I have returned menu items have been changed but not updated on the menu, drinks are (bourbon) and signature drinks don’t have the detail or attention they once had and are watered down.
This place is beautiful but lacks the heart it initially had.
I am done with Carmela.
La comida es excelente, mis recomendaciones esquites, el queso ahumado de Tecosingo, el pulpo frito en pesto y el mostachon, el mejor postre!
Nos llevaron el plato fuerte cuando aún estábamos con la entrada, y a pesar de pedirle al mesero que lo reservara en cocina para que no se enfriara, lo dejó en la mesa. Celebrábamos un cumpleaños, y solicitamos al mesero pedir a cocina poner algún detalle al postre ordenado, pero nuestra petición fue ignorada. La comida muy rica, a pesar de estar fría; una lástima el servicio.

All of the food was mediocre. Pulpo tacos incredibly oversalted (presumably there was an olive tapanade?) Virtually inedible. Chicken pate was OK but mostly fruit so it was so sweet you couldn't taste the pate. Had to remove half of the fruit to taste the pate. The short rib dish was swimming in a half-inch of thick, unappealing sauce. Salty and tasteless. I have the impression that the chef has authored some compelling dishes, but that the line cooks are blowing it on execution with unforced errors of saltiness and ingredient proportion.
Otherwise everything was pretty good, but food matters most so this restaurant deserves a 2.5 out of 5.
Food delicious and with a lot of imagination. Expensive though, too much for eating coconut.
