Cafe des Artistes - Los Cabos
Soup was good, bread was good. Salad came drenched in dressing - swimming in it. Pulpo (octopus) badly cooked with a harsh, bitter, overwhelming dreadful sauce that was inedible; I choked down a few bites and then realized it was impossible to continue. Lobster tail for my wife had a horrible presentation, meat sticking out if the back of the shell, and was literally raw in the middle - poorly cooked. The sauces fir the lobster were mediocre and underwhelming and the flavor of the meat was bad. We love Cafe de Artistes and chef Thierry Henri in Puerto Vallarta. This chef is truly awful. There are hundreds of good restaurants in Cabo - go find another one. Ruined my wife’s birthday. We left special notes we did not want sugar for dessert and they proceeded to bring a birthday celebration plate made of pure sugar. Beautiful setting; it’s too bad, really.
The presentation was beautiful but the flavors , not so much. The tuna was very salty. Cauliflower explosion Yates like a charred piece of paper. They try to mix too many flavors together
We had delightful specialty cocktails then pumpkin soup and salads among the four of us. Salmon, lobster tail, filet mignon and tortoaba (light white filet fish). All had tasty sauces and were very fresh.
The food and ambiance and service were great. We drove 1 hour from the hotel to check this place out and it was worth it. Brought 2 kids with us. Great wifi and a little sitting area. A must see
Always the best dining experience in Cabo. Our go-to for special birthday celebrations! We love the Chef’s table
Best dinner near San Jose del Cabo, however it is a 30 dollar cab ride to get there. Worth it for special occasions.
I celebrated my birthday with family and friends at the chef's table with the tasting menu at Cafe des Artistes. Every dish was beautifully presented and exquisitely delicious. My birthday dessert presentation at the end of the meal was over the top. Service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
Amazing experience all around — don’t miss it if you are in Los Cabos
Toda la experiencia estuvo formidable. La atención, el lugar y la calidad de los alimentos. Volvería sin duda a disfrutar en mi próxima visita a Cabo
The staff was incredible and so was the food. We had the daily fish special which was excellent.
Service and ambiance were exceptional. The warm breads to start were very yummy but the star of the night was the catch of the day - grouper. The flavours were impressive and the fish was cooked to perfection . My husbands beef filet was also cooked perfectly and very tasty.
Compliments to the chef and staff!
Amazing experience! Gracias
It isn't close to town center, but we uber'd and the driver had some confusion because the drive to the hotel is a bit confusing after one goes through the security gate. The restaurant is tucked downstairs accessible through a long stairway. Patio seating is lovely overlooking the ocean. Live piano music was pleasant
Excellent service and Exquiste dining experience right down to the superb bread basket
Extraordinary food, presentation, service, ambience.
Great food and attentive staff, on of our favorite restaurants
It was a very enjoyable evening. Very friendly staff and since I use a walker, they provided a wheelchair to take me to the restaurant.
The ambiance was beautiful, the view spectacular and the food and service impeccable.
Amazing overall dining experience.
Service was perfection. I’d highly recommend the tasting menu.
excelente lugar, comida y servicio, muy buena decoración
Delicious tasting menu
A bit hard to find for este americano, but we continued undeterred and were rewarded with a sensational meal. Highlights include camarón con mole habanero, the verde salad(!), crazy good basket of all things bread, including pastry rolls filled with cream cheese, and the chocolate ‘flowerpot’ maceta, a seemingly bottomless pot of different chocolate varieties. With two glasses of wine and generous tip, it came to $200USD for the two of us. Well worth it, we hope to return this week. Well done chef Rodriguez! Oh and the chef’s macaroon finishes!
Excelente comidas y servicios, súper lujo y una explosión de sabores.
Awesome experience for our group of 6. We had been to the Cafe Des Artist in PV and this one is just as good.
Great evening at this beautiful and classy restaurant! We went during restaurant week and the prix fixe menu was exceptional—pumpkin and prawn soup, grouper or short rib/filet, a gorgeous light dessert concoction. Piano music playing in the background. Enrique and Víctor provided just the right amount of gracious service. Overall a splendid first visit. Highly recommend!
First class in all respects!
This was our 2nd visit to Cafe des Artistes at the JW Marriott in Los Cabos. We were definitely impressed! From Mario the bartender to our very friendly and competent wait staff, to the food, everything was lovely! Probably our only real disappointment was not being able to have the rack of lamb which they were out of. Having dined at the Puerto Vallarta CDA for many many years and ALWAYS ordering the lamb, my husband and I were looking forward to it all week, but it just wasn’t meant to be! I will say however, that the chef was kind enough to send the very last chop out to my husband just so he could have that little taste! He loved it as always. His Cornish Game Hen was
“Good”, my Filet was fabulous, as were our friends meals (short rib/filet and fresh catch of the day). As mentioned, service was impeccable, our Passion Fruit Martinis were THE BEST.....it’s just a really special place that everyone should get to experience at some point! Thankyou!
Magnífica experiencia, una delicia de comida, Bello el Restaurant y las instalaciones del Hotel preciosas.
We went for our anniversary and they went over and above
The food was excellent. Service was top notch! Restaurant and grounds were beautiful
Fabulous food and service
I love this place. I left an all inclusive to
have a delicious dinner there. Carmen is a great host Enrique is a great server who made me feel special. I went for their famous pumpkin soup. I started for their famous fish TOTOABA which was very good . Again thanks to Carmen and Enrique. Also , thanks to Mr Bonvoy I call him that because I didn’t remember his name. He walked me from
the lobby We had a great talk about Marriott now Bonvoy
OUTSTANDING!!! Perfection. What an incredibly beautiful restaurant with second to none service. I absolutely loved it. The food was not only delicious but every dish looked like a piece of art...Definitely get the tasting menu.
Perfect. Celebrated my wife’s birthday. Our server Jose Emmanuel was attentive and incredibly nice and friendly. Food was delicious and exquisitely presented. Would do this again in a heartbeat.
We came here for my birthday. Everything was just magical. Food, atmosphere, drinks. So much flavor! Restaurant team even surprised me with birthday dessert and champagne. Unforgettable experience for sure.
P.S. They have a great vegetarian menu, ask for it, if preferred.
Great experience. Thank you so much!!
Highly recommend the tasting menu (with wine pairing). The plating was amazing and the food is very delicious. And the service was great. Enrique and Moises are professional servers and very knowledgeable about all the dishes and wine. And Carmen (hostess) is so friendly right when you walk in to the patio, she's there holding the door open. She greets everyone with a genuine smile. The piano player was an unexpected bonus, he played soothing music that added to the overall dining experience. The table next to mine was celebrating a 23rd anniversary and the staff decorated it in rose petals. I finished my dinner before I saw all of the celebratory items. Thank you all for making my dining experience a beautiful memory.
Never disappointed when eating there
The view was great and the restaurant had a ambiance. The foos was strong, but not overwhelmingly good.
