    Everything was great - except for their famous augratin potatoes. These were “to-die-for” in the past. They only make so many portions and when they are gone for the night, they are gone. We went out of our way to note it on our reservation that we wanted the Au gratin potatoes…looking so forward to them. We get them and they were “meh”. No flavor, very hard (ie.raw) and were a HUGE disappointment. Either the “ old lady that used to make them and then go home” died or was on vacation today, and someone else tried to make the recipe. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Other than that, we tried the onion rings 🤤with bbq aioli…awesome…and of course, the steaks were cooked to perfection!!!

    Outstanding! We sat at the bar and enjoyed every bit of our dinning experience. It was professionally served by Micki the bartender. The food to the drinks were outstanding. We celebrated two birthdays. It was a fabulous evening.

    Great wine list and our surf and turf was delicious. The chopped salad was a little disappointing, but the special potatoes au gratin more than made up for it. There was over a thirty minute wait between salad service and the main course, but it was a very busy night. As always…we’ll be back for a special evening.

    We like going to Buffalo ChopHouse for special occasions. This one was Laura's birthday. Reuben was our waiter again; we were glad to learn this as he was great last time and just as good this time. We shared a bottle of Mirabeau Rose wine. Laura had the lobster and I chose a filet mignon. Both were perfect as were the sides (chopped salad and baked potato). If we have any concerns at all, the music plus conversations at the bar made our own conversation a little challenging downstairs. Perhaps it would be quieter upstairs but we didn't want to lose Reuben to find out.

    I would not recommend this restaurant to others, I had a much better experience in other steak houses around the world. My mistake was to make the reservation for my birthday, they have a special on birthdays but that is a red flag I suppose. The place mentions a dress code but they do not enforce any dress code, they had people poorly dressed, sandals, shorts, sneakers, you name it. Bottom line: this is not a place to celebrate a special occasion with your wife, downright awful. But you may succeed if you have an expense account and do not care about wasting someone else's money, then they seem to pay attention. Also, the owner or manager or somebody known to the staff had two little girls running up and down the staircase and perilously hanging from the balcony for a while, mom was busy elsewhere. As far as I am concerned my waiter would not make it in a place like The Palm or other steak houses. He had a very nice assistant waiter but the main waiter was terrible, rude and arrogant. The valet parking, assistant waiter, and hostesses were very nice. Buffalo needs a good steak house with good service to all customers, this is not one of them.

    Steak is the best in Buffalo! Gets noisy and restaurant decor a bit dated but it’s an old building so it matches. Would dine again.

    Very happy with a solid steakhouse meal that beat expectations. A very interesting dining room that was the opposite of stuffy. We started with the bacon appetizer that was seasoned just right. I really appreciated the fact that they offered specials both from the food and drink menu, with plenty of affordable wines by the glass. We decided to have the Caesar salad, fresh with tasty dressing, the 16oz bone-in ribeye and the button mushrooms. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly although we got an additional steak sauce it did not need it all. The mushrooms were terrific and the portion was very large, plenty for 3-4 people. We appreciated the waiter who said the potatoes au gratin although excellent would be too much food for 2 people, instead of the mushrooms. The cocktails were very good and the service was attentive and first class. If and when I return to Buffalo I would 100% return. A great dinning experience on the first night of a 4 day trip and it was our best meal.
