Love this place, this is my 4th visit and it never disappoints. Chops are amazing.....love the all in option! Great gin cocktails amongst others, grandmas spiked lemonade is definitely a favourite, relaxed atomosphere, great friendly and interactive staff, perfect for a friends get together or date night. What better way to finish it off than there amazing cheesecake......its a beauty!! Highly recommend you visit
This is my second time in Blacklock, and the first time for my family. I love the simplicity of the place. The functionalindustrial type furniture teamed up with lovely crockery (mint teas at the end of the meal served in vintage cups and saucers). All the details are thought through.
We had a porterhouse and a prime sirloin to share between 4 of us, with starters and sides including beef dripping chips and braised baby gem lettuces.
Every dish had tons of flavour, and the meat was cooked perfectly to our taste.
The waiters are very knowledgeable about the food, and are also really friendly but laid back - not in your face.
It's busy and quite noisy but that is because there is a lot going on and a lot of people around enjoying the food. Great ambience.
Looking forward to trying it out for a Sunday lunch, or a daytime burger.
I can't imagine anyone being disappointed.
This is a good little find with lovely meats cooked to near perfection. Service is really good with friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is in the basement and we found it a bit on the cold side the night we visited. The dessert is lovely and a nice note to end on. Overall, good value for what you get. (Tip - if you do the ‘All in’ the beef cuts are great so worth getting more and less of the pork chops).
My partner and I went for Sunday roast at Blacklock to celebrate his birthday. The service was great from start to finish. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was nice with good music playing. The food was delicious. The bone marrow gravy was incredible and the duck fat potatoes were super crispy. The meat was cooked very well and had a lot of flavour even without gravy. The waitress surprised us by bringing out some white chocolate cheesecake with rhubarb as a birthday treat for my partner. I would definitely recommend Sunday roast at Blacklock.
The food and service were faultless. However I was very surprised to be charged for a dessert that I didn't actually ask for, the staff brought it over for my friend as it was her birthday. I assumed it was a complimentary treat from the restaurant.
We visited Blacklock for my husband's 40th birthday, which was a table of 9 and the staff made the whole experience special. They were lively and really attentive. The food was amazing, lots of detail and care in to everything that arrives on your table. Meat cooked to perfection and even the side dishes gets lots of love. We travelled from the West Midlands to go here and I would happily travel all that way to go again.
Really good food. Masses of meat, so not much good for veggies or vegans but great for meat eaters. The service was excellent - friendly, efficient and they went out of their way to get what we wanted. There’s a good buzz and a lively atmosphere.
Delicious food; they do what they do well. Small chops were simply cooked, which brought out the meat' s incredible flavour. Shame they're served in a pile on top of each other. Sweet potato was outstanding and moreish.
People are really packed into the limited space and this, combined with the open kitchen and terrible acoustics, made it difficult to have a conversation. The din is oppressive and the space feels cramped. It's in a basement down a steep flight of stairs with no lift for disabled/infirm access. You certainly couldn't manoeuver a wheelchair in there.
Got a prime rib on butcher's Monday. Still rather expensive despite the discount as I was expecting "Amazing" and got a "just OK" piece of meat - part of the cut was very moist and flavorfull, but most of it was rather dry even though perfect medium.
Chose here based on the website. I wish the website had a few “heads up” items because ordering here isnt intuitive. The steaks have the value per 100g which is fine until they tell you there is a minimum amount of grams to buy!!! So why not just show the minimum? Ordered the £38 1,000 cl malbec wine, which tasted like vinegar!! I complained and was told the wine is all off the tap and it says so in the menu!! However staff were good and changed the wine. I wouldnt reconend again for a date unless you check it out first so you can get your degree on how to order the food first!
We had the sharing platter for 2. It was a meat lovers dream. Pork belly, beef, lamb chops pork chops all cookes beautifully. The chips were the die for 👍. Casual dining with very helpful staff and good choice of beers. Highly recommend it
I was so looking forward to my booking as I had booked quite a bit in advance. Unfortunately they ran out of lots of items on the menu, scallops and cauliflower cheese being 2 of the things I was most looking forward to but couldn’t get. The waitress did try and make up for it by offering us a free side, but I was still disappointed.
Best Sunday Lunch in Soho, and one of the best I've ever had. The mixed roast is very meaty with some excellent gravy. My flatmate loved the horseradish. Vegetables not too abundant but delicious, especially carrots and potatoes. Will definitely come back.
We chose to visit here inbetween the harry potter plays, i would not recommend as a family dining experience, no kids menu, its very trendy and very expensive, if out with a group of adult friends then its ideal but it was not what we were looking for that particular evening! That being said staff were very friendly and tried their hardest but its not somewhere i would ever go to again
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and wonderful, super-friendly and helpful staff.
We arrived as a group of 8 and shared almost everything off the menu. All of it was cooked to perfection and came with some excellent sides, too.
Can’t wait to go again.
