This restaurant has a fantastic view, and is walkable Olas Altas.
The dinner was delicious, and the service fantastic!
Definitely worth more visits.
We booked for Sunday evening hoping to have the featured prime rib. Were quite disappointed to learn from Bruce that it was cancelled and because we booked with Open Table we didn’t get notice about that. We had the regular roast beef instead and while it was good it wasn’t prime rib. Yorkshire pudding was great as were the setting and service. Would go back.
The food, service and view were absolutely amazing. This is a must place to go on your trip to Puerto Vallarta.
An excellent meal. Attentive service and an amazing view - especially at sunset! Only open 3 months but a must do for everyone visiting!
I am not one to post bad reviews, but our experience at Bistro Limon was very disappointing.
The restaurant was not busy, the service was nonexistent, the food was less than satisfactory.
The gentleman who greeted us upon arrival was very welcoming and later helped with the service.
The beef was tough and had no flavor.
It seemed like they had just opened up and had lack of training.
The old Vista Grill that was there previously was outstanding.
Bistro Limon has a long way to go to match the quality, ambiance and service Vista Grill offered.
Hope the owner and staff take this review to better serve their future customers.
Fantastic Prime Rib a must when in Puerto Vallarta
It was my husband birthday and the celebration was very enjoyable. Yaya was extremely attentive to our table. Will go again.
We have been at Chef Bruce's restaurant a number of times but this is the first time in the new location where the old Vista Grill used to be. High up on the hill slope, the view had changed quite a bit since I last visited Vista Grill some 10 years ago with lots more tall building but we still had a beautiful sunset view at the lounge area before moving to our table. Food was good as ever, we started with Wedge salad, heirloom tomato soup and jalenpeno poppers. Both the salad and soup are simple idea that are done perfect, a sign of skills. The jalenpeno poppers are huge, 5 peppers stuffed with wasabi cream cheese and rolled in panko, this can easily be a main course for one or a shared appertiser for 3 to 4 people. We were there on Sunday, so I had to have the Prime Rib. A thick piece of prime rib done medium rare, fat melting in the mouth, seasoned simply with Montreal steak spice, exquisite! My two dinner companions had the pork shank and ribs. The sauce on the rib was divine and the shank was tenden and juicy. The potions are huge! Make sure you take your big appetite with you or be prepared to take half the meal back, which we did, for a great snack next day. Ya ya and the rest of the serving staffs was attentive and efficient, Chef Bruce came out to check on us a few times and chat. Overall it was a great experience. The restaurant atmodphere is relaxing and welcoming. We will be back next trip.
One of the most beautiful views. Everything was great especially considering it has only been open a few months. Great service. Outstanding food. We will be back. My only suggestion would be a few more wine by the glass choices.
Great food and presentation with great friendly service and a view of the city that is unequaled.
bruce's food was as wonderful as always. the view from his new location was outstanding. however, after dining there when it was vista grill, it seemed rather plain and a bit empty. hard to be located in a place that people know from when it was another establishment. however, would definitely go back. i imagine that eventually it will feel more like "bistro limon" as the memories of vista grill fade for us.
Wow!!! The view was spectacular and so was the service and the food. Just a short drive from city center but found what we were looking for in pv! When we come back, will definitely return to this place again! Sunday prime rib was perfection.
Views of the city. Fun to see sunset. Nothing else memorable. Good was ok. Service not good. There are so many better choices. Suggestions of server were misleading.
we were a group of 8. great service, good food, beautiful view, well worth it
We enjoyed the entire experience especially the location & view. We can’t wait to go back. Thanks Yaya
Great food. Great view. An overall excellent experience. Definitely will be going back.
Bruce was 100% honest and real. Marco was an awesome waiter.
Wonderful service, food and ambiance! I have already recommended and they loved it as well! Will go again and again!
Excellent!!! Great food, awesome view. Attentive staff.
The views were amazing - we went early to watch the sunset and afterwards watched the city lights come on. The food is outstanding. The coconut shrimp was the best - not too much flour. The wedge salad yum and my filet mignon was so tender I almost did not need a knife. We will definitely be back!!
Food and service were great and the view could not be any better. Great for dinner or drinks. Bob
Great place, one of the best meals in PV. Beet salad is best I have ever had. If you want a top notch stake this is your place.
We had enjoyed dining at a previous version of this restaurant, Anejo Limon, when it was located on Basilio Badillio. One of our favorite spots to eat had been on the Pulpito hill overlooking Old Town, and home of Senor Chico's, which was then replaced by Vista Grille. So we were looking forward to the new Bistro Limon (same owner as Anejo Limon) in its location once occupied by our favorite restaurants. Although the view is not quite as spectacular as it once was because of new constructions, the big disappointment was in the quality of the food.
The dishes seemed to be very appetizing in the menu, but they did not live up to their descriptions. My honey agave salmon had a tasty glaze that was very light, but this did not follow through to the fish, which was rather bland and dried out. My wife found her Thai chicken and shrimp dish to be fairly tasteless, too. For the prices charged, the food should have been better. Our Caesar salad was just OK. The Tiramisu dessert was very good, although they did not bother to even place a candle in our friend's dessert although we had alerted them to her birthday in our reservation as well as upon our arrival.
While the service was generally very good in this nearly empty restaurant, the food unfortunately did not live up to the location and the prices charged.
My wife wrote a critical review on Trip Advisor and instead of replying with a typical polite response regretting her disappointment and hoping that she will find improvements with a future visit to this newly opened restaurant, the management posted this insulting statement: "Can you imagine what people think of you at your complex? Constantly whining."
So, let the diner beware!
Dinner with friends
I discovered Bistro Limon by chance because I remember the previous Vista Grill located in this great spot and the amazing views. The food and service were great and the views can not be beaten! I'd go during sunset or fireworks and sit on the terrace.
Overall very good experience. We were their shortly after opening and they were still working out some service issues. The staff however was very friendly and attentive.
Great to see this place back! New owner and new menu. Same amazing view. Menu is uncomplicated and well executed. We had beef tenderloin (with blue cheese) and a pork schnitzel to start it was mussels in a tomato wine sauce. All amazing. Highly highly recommend for a nice evening in the hills over PV!
