Bistro Guillaume - Sydney
This is the second time I have dined the first being a private function and the food was beautiful especially the king trout.
Coming back again in 6 weeks with family and looking forward to it

The only let down was the maitre d’ and his lack of enthusiasm for life and all its surroundings, it really left a sour taste in your mouth and was the only really thing I could fault
Enjoyed the food. Fine ingredients, good preparation and generous servings. Interesting wine list. Friendly and efficient service. A bit of light live music may lift the ambience to a notch higher.
Everything was amazing! I think the only negative feedback I can give was having to decide what to order. Bloody French!
What a great find. Superb food in a beautiful setting. Great if you want to have a conversation with a group as the restaurant enabled conversation without screaming.
The soufflé is outstanding.
My wife and I had dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we really enjoyed the place, the personal, and the food. The food is served in quantity.
I recommended the place to some good friends and family.
I was very disappointed in the food. The terrine had almost no flavour and it sat on a bed of the hottest mustard I've tasted. The liver parfait was extremely rich. My daughter'd crab pasta was "goodish". My cheese soufflé needed more flavour and the creme caramel was very overcooked.
Our waiter also clearly did not want to be at work.

A return visit for Our 48th wedding anniversary did not disappoint, the service was friendly and unobtrusive. We shared a dozen Sydney rock oysters, they were crisp with a beautiful clean taste, the minerality matched the Alsace Riesling perfectly. The moules were a perfect sized serve and the pork chop with almonds was moist and tender. The mixed leaf salad had a more radicchio than greens, and that was the only down side as we aren’t radicchio fans. The desserts of passion fruit soufflé and mixed sorbets were a perfect ending to a beautiful lunch. We appreciated the celebratory message on the soufflé plate, thank you.
A wonderful place for a celebration dinner. The meals are classic French and executed with exquisite care and enough creative flare to lift them above the predictable. The passionfruit souffle was the clear standout dish for us - very memorable.
One quibble. We didn't want to drink a lot so we ordered wine by the glass - a glass of white each followed by a special glass of celebratory champagne each. Half way through the champagne the waiter swooped in and quickly topped up the glasses before we could object. This was annoying because made it difficult to track how much we were drinking. Just as annoyingly, we were charged extra (quite a lot!) for the extra wine that we hadn't ordered. Waiters should ALWAYS ask first before topping up, especially if the restaurant is charging for it. It encourages responsible drinking and avoids nasty surprises when the bill arrives.

Create a warmer atmosphere, keep people together on a quiet night otherwise it feels like you are alone in the restaurant.
Service was excellent. Food excellent Guillaume famous Paris Mash is always very well enjoyed and not to be missed. The rice pudding was a very good surprise and highly recommended. Moule Meunière is also highly recommended.
Always been happy with the food and the service is attentive. Really enjoy the spaciousness of the restaurant that makes it ideal for mor private conversations with clients. Second time there that a client odered a Bloody Mary only to be told that out of tomato juice. A restaurant/bar of this quality should do better than that.
The food was fresh and you can tell that it is made in house. The portion size was generous and would most likely share especially after the entree souffle.
The passionfruit souffle was quite tart and would have liked a sweet contrast.
Although we were forgotten about at some point, it was nice to soak in the atmosphere and have a laid back dinner.

My waiter recently relocated to Sydney from France and added a touch of reality to the experience, which as wonderful anyway. I wish I had gotten his name, but he was very nice and professional and made me feel like I was back in France.

Came here for my birthday. Food was average but given the extortionist price - was not good value for our money. I was at Pendolino last week - Bill was similar but food and experience was incomparable. I received a gift bag with their house virgin olive oil, spring water on the house and complimentary birthday dessert. Bistro Guillaume asked me 3 times if I’m ordering dessert (imagine so it wouldn’t cost them anything) then brought out a plate with chocolate sauce with 2 bitter cocoa balls - I was very embarrassed. We were also charged credit card surcharge despite paying eftpos. Would not recommend to anyone or return.
Fantastic meal and experience. I chose the restaurant for a special occasion and it did not disappoint .
The ambiance was relaxed yet stylish and I love the level of lighting.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The young lady that served us was very attentive, had a good knowledge of the menu and was a delight.

We very much enjoyed our pre concert meal at Bistro Guillaume. The service was friendly, unobtrusive, polite, helpful and very efficient. The menu selection and specials offered a difficult choice. We were also pleasantly surprised at the cost of our meal and we look forward to our next opportunity to dine here.
Step inside this restaurant and you forget you are at the bottom of an office tower in George st ! You feel like you have stepped into a restaurant in Paris . The food, the service and the ambience is divine . And everyone speaks French !
Great classic French food. The French onion soup did not disappoint. Nor did the roquefort souffle.
I went mainly for the steak tartare. The main size is more than enough, and the pommes gaufrettes were perfect vessels for the tartare. The only issue I had was personal: it was a bit too seasoned for my taste - a touch too much mustard and capers, and masked the beef a little. Texture wise, perfect.
Very good French food. Nice view on the kitchen. Good french wine selection. Will come back for sure!
I had a delightful evening and am normally very fussy. Quality food and good service all round in a convenient location. Was able to have our table from 7:30pm to 11pm so no 2 services/sittings which I do not appreciate over dinner. Well done Guillaume.
Had a girls night out and we all enjoyed the food. Will recommend to friends and family.
My husband and I went on a Thursday evening for dinner as a couple. We were greeted well and shown to a pleasant corner table well away from several large noisy groups. However, the staff on the floor seemed a little overwhelmed and were slow to organise drinks for us. The sommelier was also slow in assisting us and seemed somewhat offhand and not particularly interested in making the best choice for us. The food then arrived before the wine. Fortunately, the food was good. I started with a lovely beetroot salad while my husband enjoyed a very cheesy soufflé (a bit heavy for me). We both had the duck confit (good) and shared a delicious rice pudding for dessert. The Pinot noir chosen by the sommelier was only OK and we would have preferred to pay more for a better bottle. We were also somewhat neglected most of the time by the floor staff and the atmosphere seemed a bit corporate and impersonal. Overall, while we enjoyed the food, the ambience and service let the night down. We will not be back.

Outstanding delicicious food in a chic bistro athmosphere. The truffle risotto was incredible, the orange duck too. The bouillabaisse was superbly presented and yummy (could have been more filling).
Best kept secret dining experience in the CBD and better value than comparable venues.
Having followed Guillaume around the Sydney dining scene for literally decades, this was the first time we were disappointed in the experience. We were looking for an easy dinner with friends and I had no hesitation in recommending Bistro Guillaume - having eaten here a few times before. But standards have truly slipped. The service (which has always been wonderful before) was shocking. The food was ok - some hits, some misses. Just not what we have come to expect.

Excellent food but wine is far too expensive.
