Bestia calificaciones y reseñas
Nestled into the warehouse industrial district of East Los Angeles Genevieve Gergis and Ori Menashe have carried on in the traditions of legendary LA Ialian establishments from Gino Angelini to his mentor Mauro Vincenti of the famed Rex il Ristorante. The torch continues to have been passed and anyone who delights in authentic Italian cuisine will only be enamored and delighted. The ingredients melt in ones mouth as your taste buds experience a sensory glee. The staff are a terrific group of dedicated participants in the process. LA has yet to overcome the horrendous driving nightmare which makes downtown dining almost inaccessible from other parts of the city, yet Bestia makes that journey more than palatable.
Came here for my birthday with three other friends. Absolutely loved it. It lived up to the hype, without being pretentious in any way.
The standout dish of the night was probably the bone marrow. Next up might be the tomahawk pork chop. But honestly everything, including the service, was great.
The food was tasty and well prepared. The overall vibe of this restaurant is "trying a little too hard to be elite". Portion sizes are almost anemic, and really gave the sense that they are more concerned about maximizing profit margin than providing a lot of real value for the price.
Once we had ordered dessert, the server seemed to forget about us, and thirty minutes later brought the check without ever having brought the dessert. They dropped the ball.
The standout dish was the pork porterhouse.
Overall decent quality, but the restaurant seems overcrowded, and I feel it has the potential to be great, if they would focus less on being "trendy", and more on providing great service and delivering value and innovation through their cuisine.
While it was difficult to actually get a reservation at Bestia it was well worth the effort and the drive from OC. upon our arrival we were seated promptly at a cozy table on the patio. Our server was very helpful in recommending dishes and we started with the spinach gnocchi with bone marrow on top and it was absolutely delicious. My 17-year-old son who has a picky palate couldn't get enough. We then ordered the gnocchi with homemade sausage and the oxtail tortellini and couldn't believe how uniquely delicious they both were! For dessert ordered the frozen strawberry cake and every bite was to be savored. From beginning to end it was one of the best meals ever and we are making our next reservation as soon as possible !
The food in Bestia is outstanding... it deserves to drive from San Diego to have dinner! The wine list is very good with different options, not just the commercial wines you can find in every restaurant.
The decoration and ambience is great!
The service of all the staff is wonderful!
Definetively I have to come back!
Make sure all guests are present or they will not seat you and informed us there would be another party coming at 8:15 so we had about 2 hours. We were seated around 6:45, ordered and our food was out pretty quickly. The pasta took the longest and was the last to come out. We ordered the salami pizza, clams and mussels, veal tar tar and dumpling sausage pasta. All we full of flavor, rich, tasty, delish. My favorites were the clams because the tomato broth was amazing and we were able to dip or bread into it. We asked for extra bread and they gave us 2 slices. My sister found a small hair in her pasta but server apologized and offered replacement. Overall good experience, we weren't rushed at all. Service was great. They kept an eye on the Waters and refilled them quickly and several times. Had a great birthday dinner here. Small portions but understandable for the cost of ingredients.
after waiting 3 months to get a table i figured bestia couldn't possibly be all that. well, it is. the food is phenomenal. i could take or leave the rest of it, but the food is spectacular. especially for los angeles, where the cuisine generally leaves a lot to be desired (for those who actually know how to cook and eat). we had the chicken liver mousse and licked the plate, the pizza dough is amazing (said the bonafide italian from rome) and the spaghetti with crab is STILL on my mind 5 days later. we'll be back.
Outstanding and lovely experience from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. The service was excellent (our water and wine glasses were constantly refilled without request) and the food was wonderful. They were more than happy to accommodate my vegan diet, and even with the modifications, the food was beyond delicious. My partner and I would eat here every day if we could!
This was my second visit to Bestia and it was just as delicious and enjoyable as the first time. My friends arrived late and I thought we lost our reservation, however, since we had a 5 PM slot, they were able to fit us in once they arrived. Staff is very attentive, friendly and on point.
We tried several dishes and each lived up to the hype. It is a bit loud and difficult to carry on a conversion, however, we were so busy eating that it did not matter all that much.
Great food! So tasty - unique and a surprise to our tongues. If you are looking for classic Italian - this is not the place. If you are looking for creative innovation - this is totally the place. All the food tasted, fresh and alive. The staff was awesome and the restaurant has a great vibe. All the details added up perfectly to an amazing dinner!
This was not our first time to eat at Bestia, , and each time has been exceptional. Tried a few different things this time (calamari, lobster crostino, cucumber & melon salad, tortellini di mortadella) and the usual (marrow and gizzards). my only problem was the red wine (tempranillo) served chilled. cold enough that it frosted the glass, it took a while to warm up and was more enjoyable to our taste.
Highly recommend Bestia! We tried nearly everything on the menu and weren't disappointed. The handmade pastas were among our favorites, as well as the faro salad, bone marrow, and salumi plate as starters. The cocktails are delicious, and they have a great (although not cheap) wine list.
I've been here before, and this visit was with 5 friends....definitely the way to go because we ordered 6 different entrees and that gave us a chance to really explore the menu. In the future I will come with a group!
We had the faro salad....exceptional
Mussels....drank the broth
Pork Chop....yep, the most expensive thing on the menu and was it FABULOUS!
Branzino...yes with the head, and that wonderful cheek meat
2 pastas.....devine...absolutely the best pasta ever.
And dessert....they all said no, but we ordered 2 anyway....just loved that sliced strawberry mouse cake and the ice-cream with pecan .
And then the drinks....just wish there was a gin and vodka drink on the menu. Since there isn't, the bar tender made up one for us anyway!!!
The food is amazing, creative, adventurous and the service is always top-notch. We've been there several times and, despite the number of tables and diners, they remembered our favorite tables and treat us like old friends. Our favorite place in Los Angeles.
Amazing, amazing experience from start to finish. I have a new favorite restaurant. This was the second time I'd placed a reservation after my plans to go the first time fell through -- which means FOUR months of waiting in total. I almost didn't go this second time, but ended up dragging along a friend who I knew would appreciate the food. Was it worth it to wait four months? YES.
From start to finish this was a great experience. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and knew the menu inside & out. Each dish was presented with a detailed breakdown of the ingredients. You can tell the waitstaff really knows their stuff. They paced our dishes and drinks to come out so that we were never just waiting for around, which I thought was a nice touch. Even for a late Monday night (our reservation was at 10:15 PM), this place was quite buzzy so we ended up sitting outside. I can't speak for atmosphere (although it was definitely nice) -- to be honest, I wasn't paying much attention -- mostly because I COULD NOT GET OVER THE FOOD.
Highly recommend sharing plates so you can try everything. We definitely ordered a bit too much and ended up super stuffed, but also our plates were clean. The food was that good. Definitely coming back; I've already placed another reservation for two months from now!
Food was really good. Bone marrow dish was the best! Server suggested we cancel one of the items (chicken liver pate) that we wanted and to get a salad. Wish we didn't take his suggestion. Other than that everything we ordered was delicious.
