Benno at Hotel San Cristóbal

El lugar espectacular, pero su comida no es buena.

Pedimos guacamole, tacos de pescado y ceviche y ningún platillo de los tres era espectacular. De hecho era menos que regular.

It was my bday. I called to make a reservation and make a special request and they were not interested on taking my reservation through the phone and sent me to Open Table. Fine. They should’ve warned me about not having a full menu. It was almost like a poolside menu, not ok. I’ve been so many times to the hotel and restaurant (even during the pandemic) and always felt welcome and this time was just” blah”. It was my second time celebrating my bday there but I felt they there was no sparkle at all. I got to the hotel 15 min before my reservation right on sunset time and they didn’t let me have a drink watching the sunset, they said it’s only for guests (but literally there were 0 people there). So we got to our table and they announced that they had only this short kinda poolside version of the menu. I’m saying all this because I think it’s a special place, otherwise I really wouldn’t waste my time! Please don’t lose it!

We had such an amazing time and dinner at Benno! Edna made us feel incredibly welcome and was so much fun to talk to. Sergio was a pleasure and very knowledgeable about the wines. The food and cocktails were delicious! I can't wait to go back!

We meant to get a reservation at Benno but they are only open in the morning and evening. The pool bar was wonderful! Great food and service, the pool deck is amazing.

We made reservations for Christmas dinner and upon arrival not only could they not find our reservation but the restaurant wasn't even seating during the times that were listed on Open Table. The final frustration was a surpirise Prix Fixe menu for $150/per person that was not disclosed in advance.

Tanto el hotel como el restaurante son hermosos. Estar hospedado ahí o pasar una tarde viendo el atardecer no se compara con ningún otra cosa.

We decided to check out the hotel and the restaurant the day we arrived, since it has such a great reputation (we were staying at a different hotel). We traveled in May, and we almost had the restaurant to ourselves! The service was wonderful, the view/ambiance was lovely, and the food was even better. We had an amuse bouche (no idea what was in it but it was one of the best things we had) and super fresh focaccia on the house, the seafood sopa and ceviche appetizers, grilled octopus entree, and churros for dessert. Wow, everything was great - the churros were SO fluffy and perfect. And all for $80 USD for 2! Can’t beat that. I would say this experience was up to par with some of the best places we have eaten, both in the states and abroad.

A nice compliment to an outstanding hotel.

We had two delicious breakfasts and dinners at Benno. There was no reason to leave the property. Fantastic menus and staff.

My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary at Benno and had a wonderful evening. The food, cocktail, wine, service, and ambiance were excellent! We look forward to going back again!

I was expecting better. The backdrop and location of this restaurant is lovely. The food was terrible. I ordered the Garlic marinated Chicken. It was incredibly dry and tasteless. It was hard to swallow it was so dry. Came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was served with about 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes and a sprinkle of broccoli florets. The service however was fabulous. The staff were kind and attentive. The meal was disappointing.

se hizo reservacion con especificaciones de cumpleaños pero al momento de llegar no preguntaron por apellidos o si teniamos reservacion, al final todo fue excellente , cantaron mañana muy original.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Both food and service were excellent. The atmosphere is comfortable and the noise level is perfect for easy conversation. I will definitely return

I am from the school of ‘if you do not have something nice to say, do not say it’. I normally adhere to this credo. The Todos Santos/Los Cerritos area has so many fine places to experience for dining, scenery and shopping amongst the friendly local residents and business owners. The Bay where Benno and the Hotel San Cristóbal are located is a spectacular little Baja California Gem amongst Gems.
I will simply say this about the restaurant Benno. My wife and I were not staying at the hotel. Quite frankly we can not afford the nightly rate to stay at the hotel. We arrived for our 6:00 dinner reservation to an empty restaurant. We were not greeted with any warmth whatsoever. While we were dressed appropriately our lack of wealth does show. The restaurant was not well located in this gorgeous Bay in our opinion.
Put it all together, there was no reason to ruin a great day and we moved on to another restaurant for a fine meal with a spectacular view and sunset.

great place, good food, very expensive

Lovely, surprisingly small (in a nice way) hotel, with excellent restaurant in an indoor/outdoor setting.

Need to have better lighting at night on outside tables. Can’t see to eat food and don’t know what you are eating. Need to have Chardonnay by the glass.
Food is excellent.
