My friend’s birthday celebration was yet another typical Benjamin Prime experience— which is to say a superior time had by all
Benjamin Prime never disappoints. High caliber service and dishes cooked to perfection are a constant at this beautiful restaurant.
The food was excellent.
The waiter was very unfriendly because he got just 21% tip.
Excellent Porter House! The Prime Salad was really good and as desert we ordered a delicious cheesecake !
Our server Ari was really attentive, and as Brazilians we felt welcomed when the bright and polite Oswaldo greeted us at the Table, it was good to talk a bit about Rio!
Victor, and the team, incredible job as always first class!!! The food and service were absolutely amazing
The steak is ok, not as impressed as before!
Great service and above average food, but the place needs an update.
A much better value for your money can be had on similar steakhouses on the area.
I was wowed! The best pre-fixe lunch I have had in NYC. Outstanding food and service at a remarkable price.
We returned for my husband’s birthday and loved every minute! The service is excellent!! And the food fantastic!!!
‘Ari’ he was so nice and meal was perfect too.
Enjoyed everything about restaurant, including our waiter!
Good ambience, service. However I felt the cut of filet minion was not as good as Ruth’s Chris. Could be because it was Xmas day. Mediocre side dishes. Excellent cheese cake. Good wine list.
Very loud. Pressure to select a very expensive bottle of wine. Bright the wrong order to the table. Waitress was curt and short. We paid over 1K for a dinner that was best mediocre.
Christmas lunch. Warmly welcomed. Timely service. Good quality. Great steaks.
Too expensive, food is very good but not customizable
A fine restaurant for steaks and/or seafood!
Attentive service and most tables are nicely spaced for conversation.
Just be prepared for an expensive meal, unless it’s Restaurant Week or a holiday prix fixe deal.
Our dinner at Benjamin Prime was superior. The atmosphere, service, food & everything was outstanding I will definitely return.
Waiters were slow and impatient when they did serve us. Basically told us when we were ready to order our appetizers and our meal “because we are very busy”. Then of course they got our order mixed up with another table. I eat once per month in NYC with my customer who likes steakhouses. That said, Bobby Vans, Keenes, Mastros, Capital Grill , Wolfgangs, and Benjamin Prime are all on my rotation. Never an issue until this visit. Very disappointed.
Good service and food but the bar area is very noisy and distracted us from the experience.
We started off great as the Managerial staff very attentive. The atmosphere was pleasing and decorated nice for the holiday. My. friends steak was under cooked and had to go back. It took too long to return because the first attempt at cooking it to her requested temperature resulted in being burnt. She received her filet at the end of our meal. It was awkward eating our meal without her especially since our steaks were great. Because we were all there for our annual Christmas dinner in NYC, we didn’t give the staff a hard time and proceeded to enjoy ourselves. It was not until my girlfriend recognized that the chair she was sitting in was wet and soaked the entire back of her legs. Not only was this horrible for her but to make matters worse our waiter took personal offense to our complaint and rendered us a dismissive and insolent attitude! My husband and I were so embarrassed as we made the reservation and were looking forward to eating at this establishment. I would not have even made this post had the problem been handled appropriately but I’ve been stewing about it all last night!
Victor, director of operation’s, and Sean, this evening’s manager, have done a phenomenal job with attention to detail, timely service, and offering meals at at exceptional level of quality second two none.
Took our managers out to dinner. They had a great time as the food was amazing as usual. However, we sat in the new room for larger parties, where I found the ambiance not fitting for the holidays (as compared to the main dining area). Our table did not have enough cutlery and some errors with our order.
Great service and food from the start of the dining experience through the course of the meal.
Biz School friends annual holiday dinner
What a disappointment. We had really hoped to have a wonderful evening celebrating our anniversary, however, the food, service and overall experience just did not pan out. The waiter immediately wanted to take our food order, without even giving us an opportunity to order a drink first. The wedge salad, which we split, was quite nice. When the steaks arrived, they were both overcooked. An assistant manager stopped by to say bon appetit, and we commented the filet mignon looked well done because of the extremely heavy char, he asked it be cut in the middle. Since it did have a little pink in the center, case closed. The bone in ribeye was also considerably overcooked, but we didn’t even bother to mention that since the other complaint generated no concern. Also, the baked potato had a black spot in it. The waiter never returned to the table to inquire regarding the dinner. Elegant, albeit rather noisy, environment, limited conversation. Lively bar scene very close to our table. Really sorry to have wasted $230 on this less than stellar restaurant.
The place was way overcrowded. No space to even stand or check in. Overall it all seemed unorganized. The food was decent but personally not worth the experience.
So many choices in NYC your game has to be tight. Benjamin Prime lived up to the task. Would definitely go back.
Arrived 15 minutes early, but were still kept waiting 25 minutes after our reservation time before being seated, the waiter was polite & our food was brought in the time he said it would be,both steaks were large & perfectly cooked as ordered with sides enough for two.The only thing bigger than the steaks was the the bill.
We ordered and the food arrived before our drinks. We were rushed in and out. The Ribeye Steak was dry (its supposed to have more depth than a porterhouse); I asked for butter for my baked potato and never got it. For those prices you should not feel like you are in a cafeteria.
Medium rare steak was medium well. Service was lackluster.
We were seated in the rear dining room which was quiet and allowed for great conversation. Service was outstanding as was our meal.
Great place! Really enjoyed this restuarant. Service was great and the steak was top notch!
LONG wait with reservations. Chaotic stressful experience. Food is just OK not what I expected based on reviews.
Go to DelFriscos
we had a reservation but had to wait 50minutes before being seated.
it was a business dinner for client entertainment, so was very embarrassing.
Great food. The server and manager were very friendly and inviting. But the front desk was not -- no apologies after letting us of 6 wait for 25 minutes past appointment.
The ribeye steaks - cooked medium rare - we're not as flavorful as we (three out of four diners) we were hoping for. The swordfish was deemed very good. The sides were OK. Excellent wait staff.
Great service Food awesome Went for thanksgiving and they had different options
