Absolutely amazing experience, the best customer service, and the food was out of this world! Truly amazing! A little bit on the expensive side but and incredible experience!
Amazing experience with a very friendly staff. Great food and amazing skill demonstrated by our chef
The food and dining experience is incredibly unique. Food is incredible and the service is impeccable. An experience not just a meal.
May, our chef was fantastic, as was our waiter (a man with long hair and a stubble) I was disappointed to find I couldn’t tip via the card machine as the service was phenomenal all round and didn’t have cash on me. We will be certain to double tip next time we visit which will be soon if the quality of the meal was amazing.
We booked in for our anniversary and were greeted by every member of the staff from front of house to manager with a happy anniversary as well as as some additions to our desert free of charge and 'happy and you know it' sung in Japanese. This topped off an amazing Tepanyaki experience with our food cooked in front of us my wife had the chicken teriyaki and i had the cod and we must recommended the Sake flights but share if you don't want to get too boozy.
Good welcome, but waited too long for food. Menue not explained well and how kids meal would work. Kid felt left out. Chef friendly but didn’t interact as well with kids as seen in other restaurant. Server new but done well. Service slow and wine not kept topped up. Seemed expensive.
Ross was our chef and he was fantastic. Food was amazing.
Very overpriced. 5 of us at the table and our food all came at different times. 2 of the party had finished eating before the other 3 had any food at all. One of us had the chicken and prawns. Was served rice and prawns then had to wait 10 minutes for the chicken. Shambles
Service and food outstanding. From when we arrived we were made very welcome and offered a great Gin deal. The staff were very knowledgable about the food and they catered for my intolerance of dairy.
I will definitely be back. 👍
The food and ambience were really good. The Tapinyaki show could have been more interactive. Would go again and recommend it for friends.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Great interaction with the kids and a lovely environment for a family meal
Chef was entertaining and he cooked my steak perfectly. However, the prices are steep for drinks and the food combos. I suspect this is due to the spectacle of the meal but I don't feel it is worth it. Appetisers were the highlight for me. If drinks were cheaper I could definitely see myself coming in for gyozas and cocktails.
Fantastic meal, great cocktails, great service. Would highly recommend!
Service was poor, music was too loud to hear server and chef. Music choice was strange for an 8pm booking more suited for a club at 11pm. Chef kept dropping his instruments and couldn’t manage to get anything aimed at his hat in it. We had to ask where our bottle of wine was the sever ourselves for the evening
So great to have a Behnihana in Scotland. The food here is outstanding and such a fun dining experience. I have had more entertaining Benihana experiences but they are new so I am sure the chefs are still gaining confidence.
The menu is very varied with lots of options for meat, seafood and veggie lovers. The food is on the pricey side but is absolutely delicious. It is all cooked right in front of you, just as you like it. You also get a lot for what you order especially if you go for one of the platters.
Great food and entertainment by the chefs. Staff was excellent with efficient service.
However as the food being prepared by the chefs is very interactive the music was far too loud for the type of atmosphere to engage in.
Newly opened and some of the staff clearly finding their feet, do not let this put you off though as they could not have been nicer in every service delivered!
Our Chef was entertaining, as someone with a fondness for dad jokes I can appreciate the humour on offer. The food was to everyone’s tastes though, Chicken thighs to start in a delicious batter, spicy enough for me and not too spicy for my other half who has milder taste buds.
The expected showmanship was delivered as our prawns to start were served with grilled to perfection Onion and courgette, then for a main I had the steak and prawns (couldn’t get enough of those!) and it was sensational.
Can’t wait to come back when they really hit their stride with service as the staff were so nice it just seemed they were still getting used to the new surroundings! No doubt this small flaw on visit number one will be what makes visit number 2 perfect!
The arrival of Benihana to Glasgow is long overdue, happy they have arrived . If you are looking for a fun dining experience for all the family with great food , service and fabulous cocktails ! Then a visit to Benihana Glasgow is highly recommend
Excellent afternoon lunch, lovely new decor for the new Benihana style. As always the food was excellent, lobster is a must and the entertainment from the chefs are well worth a visit.
Welcome through to leaving was exceptional and the staff made us most welcome, looking forward to our next visit.
I was very dissatisfied with our visit from start to end, baring in mind we genuinely eat out a lot.
Our experience started with Hannah whom seemed very nervous (couldn’t tell if it was her first day) she tried to upsell almost everything to make our experience better out of politeness we said yes.
Our soups came late because there was s problem with the kitchen.
Our starters were average spring rolls you can get from any shop and the gyozas seemed raw.
Our chef benson was so demotivated, he muttered the jokes and dropped everything when performing his tricks.
Our wagyu steak was awful so bland so plain not seasoned the slightest.
Our overall experience was crap, I will most certainly not come back -
Once we mentioned to Hannah in the end how our experience was she mentioned - she can only apologises as the chefs were out the night before and might be hung over ?
Seriously ? ... after paying so much money for food to find out my food and service was crap delivered because your chefs were out the night before was completely unacceptable.
I was also giving this feedback to all my work peers as we all wanted to come for our works night out I have mentioned strongly to stay away and go to Sapporo instead as their chefs are not hung over from the night before.
This has gone back to all friends and family whom will not come to your selves as that is completely unacceptable.
Good luck with your new business venture but letting your customers down like this you will not last too long in the restraunt business in Glasgow, as there are many strong players.
I have also gave this feedback on trip advisor and this will be shared to everyone we know.
It was ok. Not nearly as good as I expected. I had the chataubriand which - quite frankly - was just a bit of filet. Not sure what made it different to the other fillet on the menu. Good, overall, was good. Just nothing special. Staff were good but could see they were still finding their feet.
Great meal, service great from the minute we walked through the door. Front of house and bar staff very friendly and welcoming while waiting on table. Serving staff and chef great and kept the evening going with his cooking and jokes. Been to Benihana a few times before around the world and Glasgow is not out of place even though just a new restaurant. If they are having teething problems then they were well hidden.
Can’t wait to go back.
Although new, the drinks service was not slick. There was only a single bar staff member on when we first arrived and they were fully engaged making cocktails.
Drinks eventually arrived at the table about 30 mins after we arrived.
Teppan cooking was entertaining, however the timing was not well organised and food was phased and would be cold by the time any rice arrived.
Considering the price >£25 for most main meals (including an onions soup starter) the portions were not great especially compared to its direct competitor in the city.
Overall a bit of an anticlimax, and not very good value for money. Costs should be reviewed given the Glasgow location and type of dining experience.
I would definitely come back maybe at night time to see the chefs cooking at the hot plate and would recommend to my friends
