Legendary Dining & Hospitality
Acting as stewards of traditional hospitality, the dining room offers world-class cuisine in a warm and welcoming environment. Serving an array of local beer, spirits and craft cocktails and all brought to you by our friendly staff, the Belton Tap Room is a favorite of locals and guests from around the world.

With an outdoor elevated deck and original 100-year-old fireplace, this is the perfect place for all that Montana summers have to offer. Every evening, our staff lines the balconies to welcome the evening train, just like they did in 1910. Steeped in the romanticism of a bygone era, this is the perfect setting for a special evening - whether you're celebrating an anniversary or the completion of a ten-mile hike.

    Wonderful service and a delicious trout dinner. We appreciated the service that was attentive and professional! The menu had a nice range of options and many items were regional

    We haven’t been to Belton Chalet in a few years because the last time we were there it was rather average. Something has changed for sure. Everything was outstanding. I had the trout. Excellent choice. Mussels were great. My friends loved their steaks and pastas. My dessert was yummy. We will be back next year. I hope our wonderful Polish waiter is still there. He is terrific!!!

    Great special family dinner for 8 plus an 18 mo old on our vacation. Megan the waitress from Traverse City was top notch. The bison meatball appetizer soooo good. Would be great meal with just a salad. Go for the steaks: this is Montana and these people know how to cook a steak!

    We both had the trout entree and it was great. Desert was the blonde don’t miss . Matthew our served was fantastic. Best meal in an area with limited options.

    First time visiting. We rode our bikes from Apgar Campground (~3 miles, pretty flat). Chicken and Meatloaf entree’s were great and the service was very good. Also enjoyed the Blondie for a shared desert. Pretty overcast out, so view was impacted. It must be great when it is clear. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area

    Belton Chalet never disappoints when it comes to a great meal for a special occasion. We love celebrating our anniversary there. The food is always amazing!

    When we were initially seated, our host threw our menus on the table and walked away. It was an unexpected abruptness. We sat down and after about 10 minutes the manager asked us if our server had been by. No one had, she apologized and took our drink orders. Our server Trinity then surfaced and she was fantastic. The grilled baguette was very crisp and oily. The rosemary butter was an excellent addition. My husband ordered the ribeye rare which came out medium rare with silky potatoes and cold broccoli. I ordered the pork shank with polenta and a slaw. The dish was under seasoned and lacked cohesiveness. The polenta was bland and incorrectly prepared. It should be creamy, but it was a gritty texture. There were large amounts of whole grain mustard on the plate which was unappetizing and unappealing. Overall the food was disappointing. We were the last two eating outside and even though they excepted an 8pm reservation, they started closing everything up outside making us feel rushed. Trinity provided great service and was sincerely apologetic about the food. This restaurant was not worth the reservation.
