Laura did it again! What a treat it was to eat at Beef and Leaf. Lovely atmosphere, sophisticated food choices (but still with something for everyone), and fine dining level service. The cocktails were delicious and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food selections - red snapper, mussels, smoked chicken pot pie and flat iron steak. It transported me out of Los Alamos (except for seeing many people that I knew!). Great job, Laura!

Had a delicious late lunch with a group of friends. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and my order of hot honey chicken sandwich was delicious.

The Small Bistro Feel. We made reservations, highly recommended while the town tries it out! The waiter 'Ed' was solicitous, prompt, and all staff were dressed appropriately. We chose the Rose wine - a good selection, fresh, spritzy with a hint of ellow oak aging. A half carafe was plenty. The corn chowder was one diners' entree, a home made taste. Two other entrees were the fried chicken over grits. Good size portions and I'm very glad the dish was not smothered in gravy. Filling and more tasty! The ambience was adult, subdued but not noisy. We had a great experience! I tipped in cash. Receipt arrived promptly by Gmail. Thank-you folks! Cycling the menu will be desirable! Mark

The place was attractively decorated, and looked inviting. It was a bit noisy, and I think perhaps some curtains on the windows and tapestries might help cut down the noise. As it is the place has hard floors, walls, and ceiling which just amplifies sound. Our server had to lean in and ask us to repeat our menu selections because it was so loud. For an appetizer we had crab cakes. They serve two crab cakes and a really fantastic sauce to accompany them. They were excellent. I had the pork chop with broccoli and potatoes. It had a light sauce that was slightly sweet that went perfectly with the pork. The pork chop is one of the best I have ever had, but the supporting cast, broccoli and hash brown potatoes were good but not the best. I was expecting large broccoli florets and instead was presented with small stringy pieces of broccoli. The hash brown potatoes just were ok. I would have preferred maybe small lemon parsely potatoes or maybe fried garlic potatoes would work well. Still the meal was delicious and I enjoyed it. Considering the other choices for dinner in Los Alamos, it was just excellent. My wife had Gnocchi pasta. She said it was excellent and I have to say it looked very good. For desert we split a Peach and Blueberry Crosp. It had Peaches, blue berries, butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. It was baked with a crunchy crumb topping. A+ on the desert. So considering it's Los Alamos, a place not known for fine dining, I think it was great. Sure they can make improvements and they probably will, but this was a real treat and we will be going back. We had a great time and I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Had the buttermilk crusted chicken breast for lunch and it was quite tasty. Green beans and grits were also good, but not outstanding. The restaurant was not overly busy and the noise level was ok. It can get noisy in there though. The place is clean and orderly but they could use a little more decor on the walls etc. The service was great. The cost for lunch was higher than I expected for sure. Ouch.

We went to the Sunday Brunch so that we could try out the newest restaurant in our town, and to sort of celebrate our daughter’s birthday. (Her real birthday was the next day, and we had an additional celebration then.) The layout of the restaurant and its patio was attractive, clean, and practical. Apparently it had been very crowded earlier in the morning, but it was less than half full when we arrived for our reservation at 1 PM. We were seated promptly, and service was excellent. The menu was less extensive than my ideal, but everything on it came across as delicious. I had the chicken and waffles which were very good. I also had a margarita which was excellent. My wife had the avocado toast, with two eggs. She loved it, but they initially forgot about the extra eggs, and comped us when reminded. She also had an Arnold Palmer. One daughter had the shrimp and grits, while the other had the eggs Benedict. They both loved their meals, and only had water to drink. For dessert my wife and one daughter each had the Salted Caramel and Banana Budino, while I had the peach and blueberry crisp. Both were excellent, and of a size reasonable for one person.

We enjoyed our dinner very much. The small space was a little bit louder than I would have preferred. Our server forgot to take our order until after we finished our appetizer. Other than that, the service was fine. We had a reservation at 6:30, but we weren't seated until about 6:45. The food was delicious, and it was nice to have something new in town! I would recommend it.
