Beach Club Papaya Playa

Literally one of my favorite days in Tulum was spent here. Delicious avocado tacos, guacamole, and the drinks were perfect. You will not be disappointed.

I reserved a day bed here two months in advance. Our reservation was a 11am and we were told the Beach Club was not ready for us. We finally got to our space at 12pm. We waited another hour to order food and drinks. No one came, so I asked staff to come take our order. After they finally did, our food arrived quickly. Then at 3pm, we were told they were having a party and closing the beach club and had to leave. Our reservation was cut short by 4 hours. I would not return, poor service.

El servicio fue excelente y la comida de buena calidad pero el precio que tienen anunciado en el internet (y el mismo que se me fue dicho) no fue el mismo que al llegar. Al principio eran 70$ y al llegar me dijeron que no era el precio si no 110$+propina. Los pague, pero la vdd no valió la pena.

La recepcionista fue un poco condescendiente. Tan pronto como llegamos allí, dijo que haría todo lo posible para encontrarnos una cabaña. Después de hacerlo, mencionó constantemente el costo y nos aseguró que si no podíamos pagarlo, podría acompañarnos a la salida. LOL somos de NYC el precio no nos importa. Así comenzó nuestra estadía y arruinó por completo el ambiente. Hay mejores clubes de playa en Tulum, no pierdas tu tiempo aquí.

Very lovely ambiance and food!

Great vibes and scene, but we were surprised by how low the music was. We could hear it from the beach but we’re thinking it would be more like a vegas beach club style dj to be heard loudly from the beach.

On the day that we went it was $100 consumption per person, which may have changed from previous reviewers.

The servers were very attentive, and the beach view was fantastic. We had the burger and tuna tostada and both were delicious. Beers were reasonably priced, higher end wine selection and craft cocktails were great.

Have been coming here since 2016, but in the last few years they care only about money. Not about service. The hostesses are rude, and give priority to “IG influencer” type or white people. African Diaspora and Indigenous... do not spend your money here, they do not care about you. They have horrible customer service, and double charged my friends card last time we were there and we are still chasing a return, three weeks later. We have gone in person, emailed, called, texted. They have horrible customer service and don’t deserve our cultures money. The White female manager wouldn’t even come talk to us when we came in, we were polite and stood waiting for a while, she just kept sending others over who couldn’t resolve the issue instead of coming herself. Horrible customer service, which is a shame because the location and food is enjoyable. I suggest Papaya Playa hires someone to come in an train their staff, you never know who you might be serving... not everyone with money or connections flaunts it.

The drinks were nasty but the ambiance was great and the beach was really nice and clean. The service was good, but really slow. We really enjoyed the food too though. The prices were moderate for the area. They didn't make us spend the beach club minimum ,but i'm sure we end up spending on our own anyways.

The shrimp quesadillas are so good

Just loved this place. Food is amazing and service was great ( from the hostess to the guys at the beach). We spent the day between de ocean and the pool listening to the waves and enjoying our beers! Thank you everyone!
