Food was lovely, service was a little slow. Particularly slow when waiting on plates being cleared and to pay the bill. Had asked for the bill and card machine to come at the same time as we were in a hurry following the meal, however only the bill was brought and, after waiting sometime both my partner and I had time to use the bathrooms and chat to the table beside us before we managed to flag a member of staff down to pay.
A beautiful meal for a group who had various dietary requirements - the vegetarian menu in particular was excellent. I had fish dishes; the fish pakoras were the best I’ve ever had! Thank you to the staff for helping us enjoy our evening.
Pleasant fast service however food was dissapointing. Very little meat in curries and the Peshwari nan was particularly dissapointing with too much coconut pink paste inside.
A few work colleagues got together and had a very nice meal at the restaurant.
Ashoka West end has never disappointed us and we have visited it for many years. We always advise friends and aquantances to try it also
Food especially the Peshawar nan was excellent, service was excellent and price was good too
Nothing special. Pretty bland tasting.
Will not be back anytime soon.
Left a 10% tip and not even a thank you when we left. Passed our 2 servers and a manager on the way out.
Service, food and value for money are all first class. I've been many times and never been disappointed. This is my favourite restaurant in Glasgow.
All food was excellent and full of flavour - Sea Bass starter particularly good. One exception was the excessive (very thick and unmelted) garlic butter on the one garlic nan we had ordered; others were plain nan. Additionally table was tight in terms of surface area for five to dine. Felt a two person unoccupied table next to us ought to have been offered as an added extension to increase overall room for meals, nans and rice etc. But to re-emphasise, food overall was excellent and staff overall attentive.
Booked last minute on line and from start to finish it was a very good choice.
The variety of food was excellent and it was served on WARM plates, I only wish other restaurants could manage the same. Service was great and attentive. I will be back although I live a ferry journey and 30 miles away
Wonderful dining experience. It was my friend Matthews first time here and he loved it. In particular the friendly service.
Excellent food & service, friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our night... highly recommended! 👍🏻
Great food at the ashoka and we were well looked after would definitely go back
We went for an early evening meal on a Sunday due to commitments later in the evening. Were sat downstairs, and were the only people down there until shortly before we left. There was no ambiance - no music on, place was cold, waitress was cleaning down chairs at neighbouring tables, wine list that we were given had a dreadful smell etc - overall, it felt as if we had been put in an area that wasn't really open at that time (though we had booked in advance).
Service was a bit chaotic and we had to chase up a couple of items. But, food was really lovely.
Excellent food and good size portions. Let down a little bit by the service - ourselves and another table had to wait for over 30 mins between our starters and main course. When we mentioned this to the waiter he duly rectified the matter. This would not put us off from returning to the Ashoka next time we are in Glasgow.
Great service from very friendly, polite and considerate staff. Food is very good, tasty and not loaded with salt or bulked out with unnecessary sauce. Good, fresh ingredients packed with flavour. Great value and we will be back!
Food was great and excellent value. The staff were friendly and attentive
We travel from Harrogate for Glasgow curry and the Askham never fails to disappoint
A delicious meal
Great food! Small & cosy restaurant. Clearly very busy with take aways and a full table but this didn’t effect the speed of our food and service. Will come back
food was very nice, especially the pakora. the toilets were spotless. The only issue was that the table service
suffered as a result of the takeaway business but that is probably due to your excellent food quality. Would definately visit again. Also the staff were very nice.
Excellent service - could not be more attentive and the food was exceptional.. Little touches like chefs taster sample waiting for starter was something else!
Food awesome service awesome staff very accommodating & friendly. Only downside seating is a bit tight.
First time to this restaurant. What a great find. We had the pre theatre meal and couldn't fault a thing. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food, staff and service. The chefs taster is a nice touch too.
Amazing 😉 food will be back great with my daughter too.
We have been to this and other Ashoka restaurants many times but were very disappointed with the service tonight. Our starter took 40mins to arrive which is just unacceptable. We had ordered the vegetable pakora and the coconut sea bass. Possibly the sea bass was the cause of the delay but if this is normal then it should be stated on the menu or pointed out when ordered. I thought the mains would follow on pretty quickly but these took another 15 mins or so after our starters were cleared. The waiting staff seemed to be in the kitchen a LOT too which meant it was half an hour before we could get someone’s attention to order a drink. The food was good as usual but service really let them down tonight.
Amazing food and service, the price you pay is worth the food that you get definitely!
I would also like to say thanks to the waiter who opened the door for me and my girlfriend on the way out, it was really kind and I didn't expect him to do that. (I forgot his name, sorry!)
I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Glasgow to give it a try!
Excellent food and excellent friendly service well worth visiting
Mixed - great main courses but underwhelming starters, and though the service was friendly it was very slow.
We love Ashoka dining and were delighted with our experience on Saturday night.
The staff were courteous and the food was delicious - as usual!
Can’t wait to eat there again.
Havent been to this restaurant in many years and its good to see the standards are still up there. This place is still an institution.
Excellent service, classic Glaswegian style curry
Great food and great service. Very welcoming staff. It’s nice to order a very hot dish and get a very hot dish. Very authentic food albeit portions a little on the small side!
The food is amazing! There’s a really good selection of vegetarian options and the service was great!
Excellent food and service. Pre-theatre menu was outstanding value for money.
Headed over to Ashoka on recommendation from a friend who lives locally. Good service - and very accommodating, as our party grew from five to seven between booking and arrival. Food was excellent in terms of both quality and value. Would definitely use again.
Lovely surroundings, good atmosphere. Delicious food and excellent service. We will be back and will recommend to friends.
Excellent restaurant with great food and friendly staff
I had the pleasure of going to Ashoka for a family meal to celebrate my sons Birthday. We certainly had no complaints. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. We all ordered from the pre theatre menu , there was a wide choice and it is excellent value for money . The food arrived very quickly. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend
The restaurant was over crowded and there were long waits for pre-booked tables, this caused other customers to become frustrated and created a tense atmosphere. However, the waitresses did a great job trying to keep on top of an over crowded restaurant. Too many table squeezed into a small space. Food was average, a little dry and bland. Wouldn’t recommend.
