I am not exaggerating in saying that this was hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food is masterfully crafted and the ambiance is perfection. I give Animalón an enthusiastic 5 stars. Can’t wait to come back!

Nothing better than dining under a 200 year old oak tree with friends, amazing music, incredible food and wine and impeccable service.

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Tucked underneath a willow tree with hanging lanterns the ambiance was an excellent setting for the spectacular fare. We chose the 6 course menu which included grilled octopus, quail legs, and smoked chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly. I think my limited Spanish threw off the service and I had to ask twice for my tequila on the rocks but other than that they were very attentive. We will be back!

Absolutely dreadful, uninterested service. Empty plates shoved aside to get the next course, different wine poured in the same glass as the previous one, etc. Food was a mix of excellent (amuse bouche) to dreadful (solomillo). Waiter said the chef sent the steak medium, asking if that was ok. We said yes. What we got was tough, well done meat. When the waiter picked up our barely eaten plates he didn’t say a word or asked if we didn’t like it. There are lots of wonderful restaurants in Valle, don’t waste your time or money here.
This place is awesome in every sense of the word and the experience. The place is quite unique and very beautiful. Service is great with very attentive and knowledgable staff. I really recommend this place.
El lugar es de lo más padre, hay un area de bar lindísima para esperar o llegar temprano a propósito y luego el restaurante es de lo mas lindo y acogedor bajo ese arbol precioso. Puede ser frio dependiendo la época del año pero te dan cobijas y calentadores. Solo hay menu de degustacion pero hay 3 distintas opciones así que es flexible, incluso tienen uno vegetariano que esta lleno de vegetales frescos, locales y deliciosos; el unico defecto que le encontré es que casi todo el menu vegetariano es dulzón y no tiene por qué, eso le mejoraría.
Pero una experiencia deliciosa, servicio impecable y super amigable y un lugar muy especial.
Excelente lugar para comer y gastar algunas horas recorriendo la finca, el bar esta muy padre y la mixology ofrece pocas opciones pero tú pide y se te dará lo que buscas.

Amazing! Everything was delicious including the drinks. The venue is a 200 year old tree surrounded with vineyards. Absolutely breathtaking! The service was so great they make you feel so special and very attentive.
Excellent food and service. To me, this is one of the best places to dije in Valle de Guadalupe. This is the 2nd season we visit and it did not disappoint!
Service and ambiance were outstanding. Ordered the 8-course chef’s tasting menu which was excellent! Would have also rated it outstanding because it could have been if not for one tiny dim spot in an otherwise outstanding experience (see further down as to why). Definitely come hungry as they also serve very delicious off-menu items to whet the appetite and clear the palate.
Honestly it is very hard to pick a favorite because almost everything was amazing and absolutely delicious; but here are a few highlights (see pics): the fois gras, the duck, and the lamb part of the courses. But with that being said, most - if not all - of the food coming out of the kitchen made us audibly go “mmm!”.
As for the “tiny dim spot” of an otherwise outstanding dining experience:
I would have rated the food outstanding as well - if not for what tasted like old lobster for the poached lobster part of the course. Very disappointed as this was the dish I was looking forward to the most; as local-caught fresh lobster was supposedly used. The lobster did not taste fresh (made my mouth itch and almost completely disintegrated in my mouth vice having the consistency of being poached).
HOWEVER, the blue-corn tortillas, corn butter, roasted seeds, lobster reduction, and bed of sautéed spinach it came with were outstanding - just like all the other courses served. Honestly it felt like whoever the sous chef prepping the lobster made a VERY RARE mistake 🤷🏻♀️.
Would definitely come back and try this place again. Would also highly recommend this place to others.

Food was amazing, service was some of the best that I have ever had, the atmosphere was beautiful. The only thing I could say I would change was the music. I was not feeling the 80's yacht rock. Other than that, everything was on another level

Absolute gem! What an extraordinary experience altogether!! The service is beyond great and the food is exquisite. I fortunately have the chance to come to Valle de Guadalupe often and Animalón offers a completely different experience from what you usually eat here in the Valley. Will be coming back soon for sure. Congrats to Javier for such an amazing restaurant.
I wasn’t sure what to except because this restaurant came as a strong suggestion and very little detail. Wow I was amazed!
The ambiance was fantastic. The entire place is nestled inside a tree and it’s amazing.
We started with drinks and the Aperol spritz was so refreshing and relaxing.
The menu is either an eight, six or four course meal. We had the six courses. Although each course was a very small portion, we were stuffed by the end of it. The food was innovative, balanced, and flat out delicious. Given the amount of drinks and food we had the price tag was very cheap which is always an added bonus!

Absolutely amazing experience. Delicious 8-course farm to table meal under an oak tree. The ambience, food and service was spectacular and the cocktails at the outdoor bar were tasty!

De las mejores cocinas de Baja, un concepto increíblemente pulido, mágico con un ambiente excepcional, cada platillo es una sorpresa a la vista y al paladar. Tal vez un poco más de interacción con el chef lo haría aún mejor.
The experience we had once unique, we have the 8 course menu and every single bite was absolutely delicious, the explosions of flavors in your mouth is something i could not describe with words.
The agua chile was to die for the cucumber tatemado sauce was incredible, i could eat that every day, the aged beef was extremely juicy and delicious.
Tow thumbs up and definitely going back
Food taste is fantastic. The chef combines the right elements to really bring out the flavors on the dishes. Ambiance is great and that tree is magical. Gave 3 stars because they "forgot" one of the main courses, which we didn't realize until later because we were still hungry. For the price you pay and what they are trying to achieve, these things should just not happen. In general it's more about the food quality than the quantity. Other than that great experience.
