We had an amazing time! This was our third time at the restaurant and the best we’ve ever had! Our waiter remembered us and recommended great food and cocktails. Great experience!
Made reservation well in advance for a booth and arrived and was told we had to wait 35 - 45 minutes extra for the booth. The bathroom is only one person so you better hold it. Once seated Gabriel the server was awesome.
The ceviche is a very good. We had the duck in mole which my husband really enjoyed the flavor of the mole. I had the pescado veracruzano, perfectly cooked fish!
Really enjoyed the moment. Thank you!
It was an amazing experience; we will definitely come back.
Suadero tacos were too fatty. Mole chocolat cake combination did not work for me. Tortilla soup and NY steak was great, also the Albuquerque beer,
Third try and food was horrible. Best ambiance in the city but lacking flavor and quality in the food.
Perfect everyone enjoyed their meal
Our experience here was excellent. We sat at the bar on a busy Saturday night - the service was prompt and attentive, and the drinks were fabulous. I had the duck with mole - absolutely outstanding! The Nopal salad was delicious, and so was the hamachi. The halibut had a very unique combination of flavors but was a little small for one person. We went back a second evening and had the shareable carnitas which was fantastic with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Some reviews balk at the price but it seemed pretty standard for a high-end restaurant and the ambiance, service and decor really made this a winner for us.
Delicious food! Service was a little slow, but the staff was very busy for a Sunday night. Highly recommend!.?
Great food and drinks!
We were celebrating my brother in law! We had the tomahawk and it was amazing.
Our server was fantastic, unfortunately I don’t remember his name otherwise I’d give him a shout out!
We were seated right by the line, it was so cool to see how everything is prepped and grilled.
Will be back soon.
The food was amazing! My partner and I wanted a nice restaurant to have dinner at since we were in town visiting national parks. This place did not disappoint!
Website said Breakfast was till 11am, yet when we arrived we were told Breakfast was over at 10:30. So we had to order off the lunch menu
Andrew was so nice and accommodating
Service was terribly slow. While Tim, our server had great disposition and was friendly and helpful, it would just take him too long to come back and check on us. Not sure if they were understaffed, but it left a lot to be desired service wise.
Food was average at best, and some plates were flat out cold. They had been prepped and been sitting way to long before our server brought them to our table.
I will not recommend Ámbar, you are better of going across the street to either Anson 11 or Café Central.
Excellent service. Food was delicious. Shareable plates are not really shareable, very small portions.
Beautiful surroundings and nice ambience. Very poor service. Some of the appetizers were quite good, especially the Foie Gras. The steak was tough and lacking in flavor. We paid extra for the shaved truffles on top of our steaks, but what we got instead were grated old truffles which had clearly turned or had not been stored properly. What we should have received what is shaved truffles over our steak which are earthy and flavorful. The earthiness had gone and nothing but the moldy remains of what may have been fresh truffles a few days ago permeated the meat and ruin the meal. We would have told this to our waiter had he ever come by and asked how our steaks were or how the truffles were, but although asking about our appetizers, he made himself absent after the main course was served. He never offered us dessert, coffee, etc., so I just asked for the bill, added a 20% tip, because I still sympathize with waitstaff and their difficult jobs, even when they’re terrible.
Do not eat here. Enjoy their sister restaurant, Anson 11, especially the upstairs fine dining, instead. Much better, and where we dined the night before.
The food is simply delicious!! The service was great!!
Attractive looking restaurant with inventive southwestern menu. Wait staff was good but kitchen was extremely slow, even though restaurant was not crowded. Manager intervened to help (which was appreciated) but overall dining experience was underwhelming.
Roberto was a great server. The food was good. Price was a bit steep but it was Easter Sunday.
For the price, the food portions were really small. The food was delicious. The coffee was cold. Our server was trying really hard but was unable to meet our expectations, after all we had read about the restaurant (on the hotel website). Don't think we will be returning.
Highly recommend, food was delicious, drinks were yummy!! Place was beautiful!
Had fabulous meal and service! My first time in El Paso...great food town!
Great experience, the food was absolutely delicious. Our server was so nice and the hostess was very sweet. Will definitely come back
Excellent service and food was amazing!
It was my husband’s bday and our first time there and it was very pleasant, i definitely recommend!
Very unfortunate waitress - she tried to slip past us that she had double charged for items - she knew she had - and when we inquired - she was not apologetic!!! The price on the menu for the margaritas is not the price you will be charged - the price charged is more - when asked about this we were told it was too expensive to reprint the menus - which would be fine - if you were told in advance!!!! Beware of price charged!!
Incredible food and environment!
Omar was an excellent server. The food was delicious.
Place is very classy and elegant!! Price is decent but the amount of food you get is worth it.
This restaurant in my opinion a 5-star value! The lighting is ambient and calm. The servers are constantly checking in. They give great detail in the way the food is prepared and prepared. I am definitely gonna go back!
Amazing depth of flavor in all of our dishes. Highly recommend!
The service and food was excellent. Our server was very friendly.
Nice evening...lovely setting...two wine selections not available...food very good...waiter hard to find when we needed something.
We had an amazing waiter and the phone was phenomenally delicious. My wife and I went for our 3 year anniversary and will definitely be returning to this fantastic restaurant.
Really amazing atmosphere and food. Highly recommend
I enjoyed very much the restaurant, food is very well presented and tasty, however if I proud of Mexican food, and I understand the restaurant focus in Mexican new cuisine, I will like to see in the menu options of dishes that are not spicy . I stayed at the Plaza and all the building is very well decorated, really enjoyed it. Dinner and breakfast at the Ámbar was overall a very good experience, thanks for all waiters , we specially remember talking to the historian during breakfast.
My Partner and I will recommend the Ambar restaurant
The services was great and helpful for first time experience at Ambar. The food was delicious, especially the carnitas tacos. Will definitely come here again and again!!
Server took a long time to get our drink order and to bring me my check.
