Cacio Pepe had no pepe.
Beatrice was the best server!! Had a wonderful time- the espresso martinis are amazing!!
The majority of the food was good and the restaurant is beautiful. It took forever to get drinks and order. We did not get our 1st round of drinks until after we finished appetizers and got our second round after we finished dinner. We waited 45 minutes for a water refill. The drinks were not consistent in terms of taste and appearance. I would recommend Allegro to a friend, but would say sit inside because those tables received attentive service.
Food was not good. Very bland. Ambiance is cute and server was very friendly. I love the drink she recommend me. Unfortunately the food isn’t very good for the price.
Wonderful evening with friends along the fire table on the covered patio.
Love this place! Ambiance, food, service were great! Will definitely return!
Beautiful restaurant with mediocre food. Cocktails were well mixed, wine selection fair and reasonable price. Service was excellent but unfortunately the food was barely acceptable, certainly for fine dining at this price point.
Salads, both house and Caesar were drowned. Chicken overwhelmed by the rosemary, and steak was so heavily sauced, what was supposed to be pistachio crust was melted into it.
What should have been a wonderful evening out was an expensive disappointment,
Amazing food, great size portions. Gluten free pasta available! Will be back for sure!
We enjoyed our experience very much! The cheese wheel was unforgettable :) Fabrizzio was an amazing host too :)
We ordered the Sea Bass and Gnocchi and they were both disgusting. The service was marginal and they don’t care because they have an automatic 18% gratuity built into the bill. We didn’t eat the food but paid in full. We had to walk and have pizza down the street.
Food was bland and overpriced. Grilled artichokes were from a can and not fresh
Very poor quality food and drinks, extremely overpriced and would not recommend this place to any friend or family
We went for dinner on NYE. We were sat quickly. The ambiance is nice. Our server was nice, but nothing really above and beyond. The food was very mediocre. Not sure if it was because of the business of the night, but the beef tartar was bland, the calamari was SO salty and the Seabass was overcooked. For the price and how many wonderful Italian places there are in the area, I'd likely go somewhere else next time.
We enjoyed our meal and server. A great start to our evening.
Their food NYE is just okay. Pre-set menu and food came out in 5 minutes. Fish turned out warm and fish very over cooked. Staff appear rushed as they attempt to take plates away very fast.
We went to Allegro with family for NYE dinner, and I was sorely disappointed.
(1) We had made an indoor reservation for 5, but when we arrived, were initially told they were no more indoor seats. After pushing the hostess on it, they sat us at two 2-seating tables pushed together, one of which was an inch taller the the other, and the other one of which was a rickety, non-stable dining table. Great start.
(2) The food was so, so overpriced for what it was. We ordered the Lobster Ravioli, Salmon, and Seafood fettucine. The salmon came out dry, and the pasta dishes came out lukewarm, as if they had been cooked 15 minutes before they were served. My brother and boyfriend said they could barely taste the Lobster in the Ravioli. The pasta dishes were something in the mid $40 if I remember correctly, and absolutely NOT worth the money.
(3) Service was poor. Our server took forever to come, and made no moves to realize that we were missing a setting (because they had to combine two tables together), and mistakenly told us that they didn't have items available on the menu, when clearly they did have it.
I would absolutely not recommend Allegro to other folks, except for maybe if you're looking for a cute ambiance in Little Italy.
Did not inform customers of menu change and then was unwilling to make accommodations for allergies due to their limited menu
I went on dec 30 but they decided to cut their menu by more than half and charge up the prices on the items they kept from their regular menu by 30-40%. They said it was due to it being new years but dec 30 is not new years lol and i think it was wrong to charge so much more on food items that are featured year round at a lower price. I only had drinks and left. The server was nice and understanding, it wasnt his fault.
I was drawn in by the ceiling of lemons in their outside/inside area. Food (pasta) was great! Wonderful wines. Waiter was really good. We were unfortunately seated next to the kitchen entry so there was quite a bit of activity in and out of the kitchen.
I ordered Salmon for dinner and it was a little dry. I was expecting a special taste to it since the description on the menu sounded very appealing but became disappointed when I took the first couple of bites. The vegetables actually were tastier than the salmon.
Service was mediocre. It took a while for our waiter to realize our drinks were empty. I think he was waiting on too many tables at the same time.
Terrible service by the wait staff…they sat us 20 mins late because they overbooked the table…took forever to get bread, barely showed up to the table..not the best customer service..food was outstanding.
Amazing Christmas dinner!
Tonight’s meal was the absolute worst dining experience I’ve had in my life. What made it worse was the absolute lack of accountability by ANYONE at this restaurant. Waiting 50 min for your drinks, 75 min for your first course and then being served watered down drinks and cold food is not ok. The waitstaff and management were avoiding eye contact as they knew there was nothing they could do.
It was Christmas dinner, a $65 pre fix meal served cold and then a frozen dessert to top it off.
Waitstaff was appalling and they clearly were not prepared for the rush of diners. They could have redeemed themselves by offering apologies or comping a drink. Instead, as we were departing, they asked if everything was wonderful. No. No it was not. Total waste of money for not good food and terrible service. We will not be back.
We ate at Allegro on Christmas day, and overall it was an experience that we just had to laugh about. First, reservations didn't seem to matter, we still waited outside for 15-20 minutes along with some walk-ins and other people with reservations. The restaurant was bustling, and though the servers and bussers were all trying hard/hustling it took a very long time to get service, including water to start and coffee at the end.
Through the dinner my husband kept smelling something he likened to either "Glade at grandma's house" or a urinal cake. We ate in the "lemon branch" section, and when a heat lamp was turned on my husband was so hot his forehead was sweating (though that was ok, they turned it down when he asked). We ordered wine and drinks when we first sat, but they didn't arrive until mid-entree. As starters, the Caesar salad dressing tasted like Kraft, and though I liked the grilled artichokes, they seemed to come from a jar. The mushroom risotto was quite good and the limoncello cake was heavenly, I'd enjoy both of those again. But the tiramisu was dry, plain and arrived half frozen. The inside was literally icy, and the outside was quite cold. It might have been better if it was more thawed.
The coffee machine was broken so I ordered an espresso when we spoke with our server about dessert. ~10 minutes later the limoncello cake arrived and after another 8-10 minutes the tiramisu arrived. Maybe 10 minutes after that our server returned, but we still had no espresso so we cancelled it. Altogether it took more than 2 hrs from the time we sat to receiving our check, and we only ordered 2 courses and dessert from the fixed menu (and knew what we wanted before we arrived).
In general the restaurant was bigger than we thought and just too busy, we felt like we were being churned through a mill. The rooms look nicer in the online photos than "in person", and the pricing is similar to finer restaurants with better food quality, ambiance and service.
First of all they sat us in this corner where they put all the dirty glasses… staff kept walking by and breaking them so there was glass everywhere. The seat my boyfriend was sat in was wet so poor guys pants were soaked the whole time but he was too nice to say anything. The manager tried to give us lemon drop shots (guess we looked like college kids) bc he knew were were annoyed but we don’t drink so blah. Food was cold and everything took FOREVER. Our server was great & did the best he could given the restaurant extremely over booked the entire restaurant. The table we sat at wasn’t even a table that usually exists there because we kept getting food brought to the table that wasn’t ours. All in all for $200+ I don’t think we had a great experience worth that. The people watching was interesting and the glass everywhere was a little scary.
We went here for Christmas and my family got put in the corner of the restaurant. It was literally the first table when you walk in, and we were barely in the restaurant. We went here to enjoy a nice Christmas dinner and when we looked under the table cloth we were sitting at a plastic picnic table and sitting in foldable chairs. We also had to ask our waitress (who was actually very nice) if we could get new water glasses and utensils because there was an unraveled silverware napkin on the table when we were seated. I just expected a little more from a high rated restaurant for a nice occasion.
Went for Christmas dinner with a prix fixe menu. The food was very good. I had roasted artichokes, a chicken entree, and tiramisu. Loved all of it. The place was packed as I think they were taking walk-ins as well and we were seated at the table right by all the door traffic between the front door and the kitchen. Not a great experience at that table. Place was quite loud. I couldn’t hear my family at all. Still enjoyed it overall
We booked a reservation for dinner on Christmas Day. The restaurant was packed, and the staff was inadequate for the volume of diners. The setting was noisy especially with loud holiday music playing. When the waiter finally came to our table, we ordered everything: beverages and all 3 courses of the food. The first course came before my glass of Prosecco and my husband’s glass of Pinot Noir. My first item was a green salad, and my request for light dressing was honored. We asked for bread, which was served warm and with a spread that was definitely not butter. My husband was disappointed in the steak tartare. My main course was Chilean Sea Bass, which was definitely the best part of the dinner. It was served with carrots, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the salmon which was also also served with the same vegetables. Finally our plates were cleared, and dessert was served. I had ordered tira misu, but instead the waiter brought chocolate cake. Knowing that it would take a long time to get the one I had ordered, I agreed to accept the chocolate cake which he had brought by mistake. Then the bill came, and the waiter CHARGED EXTRA FOR THE CHOCOLATE CAKE, even though it was HIS MISTAKE! Unbelievable! We did not wish to linger in the noisy unpleasant environment to complain about the extra charge, so my husband paid, and we left.
Christmas Dinner at Allegro with set menu. Fillet was excellent, other dishes good enough. May be a good place for a first date.
Been wanting to try out this restaurant for a while and finally went there with our out of town friends last night. They only had a special Christmas menu available which was fine but literally had the worst experience ever from the beginning. Took about 10 min for our waiter to acknowledge us and another 30 min to get our starter. Our second course was brought out and and we asked for pepper and Parmesan cheese which they never brought us. Our 2nd course was another 45 min after we finished our 3rd course and the lava cake was cold the ice cream melted. My husband never received his wine he ordered yet charged us and when we called it out on the bill it took another 20 min to take care of and instead of adjusting they brought us cash back for the wine. The couple next to us finally left from their table after about 30 min of sitting at the table without any service. When we were walking out, had a half hearted apology from the manager which I didn't feel was sincere. Had really high hopes but what a let down.
We had Xmas eve dinner and it was terrific. Food portions were nice sized and everything was delicious. Highly recommend!
Giancarlo was so lovely. It was just me and my date under the lemons with Giancarlo on a Thursday night. Food was great. Especially the happy hour oysters. They may be small but mighty. The broccolini pasta was also great.
The experience here exceeded our expectations from the guest service to the meals. We came in for a unforgettable day to celebrate my birthday as well as my engagement. Our server Beatriz and food runner Victor really made our day special from their work ethic to the memorable introductions. We got to experience the beautiful decor of the lemon room as well as the warm fire pits in the center of the tables. The moment the food hit the table for our party of 12 we enjoyed portions of each other’s meals and had a chance to sample a lot of the menu. The Gnocci as well as their Wagyu steak was something to experience. The presentations of each dish really matched the beauty of each meal from smell to taste. Every bite was something to talk about.
Terrible food… all served cold. Brought new but still unsatisfactory. Nothing taken off bill and cold lava cake and not even comped for that. Terrible second and last experience there. So sad.
