Food was great but when two families are there for graduation and the waiter brings the check to get us out without ever offering dessert or coffee it was not appreciated. And then said, oh gee, sorry but made us feel like we had to go.

Took my boyfriend there to celebrate his birthday and he said that the filet he ordered was one of the best steaks he’s ever had. It was cooked to perfection. Their craft cocktails were tasty and it was the perfect spot for a date.

Visiting from out of town and decided to try a local steakhouse. The food was very good and the service was excellent. I had fried oysters for an appetizer(very juicy) and I tried a rib eye which was cooked perfectly. Overall, a good experience.

Food was nowhere as good as we expected, first filet was over cooked. Second one was cooked correctly but wasn’t rested and therefore wasn’t flavorful. Glazed carrots had no actual glaze, just tasted like steamed carrots. Poor quality for the high price tag. Truffle Mac was delicious though, and was our champagne. Service was also great and we sat outside so the skyline view was a nice touch. Would not return due to the very poor quality of the food, however.

Hands down the BEST steak EVER!! I was visiting Austin and looking for a steakhouse for dinner. Read through the reviews of several in the area and picked ALC.I made a table reservation but upon arriving a little early they had space at the bar top. They graciously cancelled my table res, even though they were busy and let me sit at the bar. Once seated I met a couple of the ‘locals’ and we proceeded to chat the entire night, including me in their conversations. Very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the big Filet with the crab lump/Bernese sauce with asparagus and it was over the top delicious! Cooked to perfection with an out of this world flavor and tenderness. I’m from Portland OR and we have a private proprietorship steakhouse The Ringside that Is consistently highly rated, but I have to say ALC blows them away! The Atmosphere, staff and food can’t be beat. I plan to return before I leave to go home and it will be THE place to go if ever in Austin again.

Another outstanding meal at ALC. We celebrated our twentieth anniversary there last night and were very pleased (as usual) with the service and meal. We've been going there for over twenty years and keep coming back for the consistent quality of food and service from staff. Last night we enjoyed the New Mexico Green Chiles and buratta salad for appetizers, then I had the aged bone in NY Strip, cooked to perfection. We always get the sampling of the house steak sauces....terrific pairings with the steaks as well as on the sides. We saw the flash fried kale and just had to try it, which nicely complemented the glazed carrots. The desserts are awesome and generous in portion. We had to skip last night, we got too full. We will be again soon.

Ribeye was delicious; loved the clam chowder; sides of corn and brussel sprouts were outstanding; Hahn red blend fit our taste; server was attentive and great. We were in a room with four tables. Two men were having a friendly loud conversation with frequent use of words inappropriate for a nice restaurant. Another table was a family with the dad speaking excessively loudly and constantly. Those two tables diminished the enjoyment of our dinner out.

The aged ribeyes were outstanding, the sides were…ok. Our waiter needed training, he dropped off our wine and never offered to refill a glass, he was very inattentive and kept us waiting for our check. We made reservations well in advance but still got stuck with a center table. For a 100.00 per head resto the place really needs to clean up their act and focus on customer service.

Highly recommend. The food was spectacular. Crab cakes, ribeye steak, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, cream brûlée and pecan pie tart. Perfect!!! Service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. Next time we’re in Austin we’ll definitely come back.
