Service was extremely slow, not sure if understaffed or if that is how the usually do things. First experience.
We enjoyed sitting in the bar area while waiting for our table. The nuts, wasabi and cheese straws were generous and continuously replenished while we enjoyed Prosecco and rosé. We then moved to our table and enjoyed the opportunity to sit next to each other. The restaurant week menu was a good value, and we thought it was particularly thoughtful of The 21 Club to offer several good wines at special prices for the week. My wife had the smoked salmon, blanquette of veal, and bread pudding. I also enjoyed the veal but started with Caesar salad and ended with chocolate torte. All was delicious and presented by servers who were courteous, friendly and efficient. John P. was especially memorable. This is a legendary place that made non-celebrities like us feel right at home.
Slow service, basic menu options, mediocre taste and pricey for what it is. Not awful, not amazing. Just regular.
Went for restaurant week. The options were a bit bland tasting. The service and people are phenomenal!
Historically I wanted to try it on my visit to NYC
Have garlic allergy that I did mention twice to waitir. He somehow still brought spinach with garlic and realized the mistake after I had eaten one bite.
Became sick late that night. I did survive, but was disappointed that it happened. Also, lump crabmeat was room temp. Dessert was great as was my cocktail
I visited for restaurant week. Phenomenal experience dining in the bar room. $42 prix fixe menu. I had the 21 Caesar salad to start, followed by the roasted half chicken and the banana bread pudding for dessert. The food was amazing. The service was phenomenal. Highly recommend checking it out.
The 21 Club has been for me 52 years of perfect martinis, delicious food ,high energy ,attentive service and quintessential New York. I think
They should bring back a men’s room attendant that was always a class add on. If you have never eaten there arrange to do it
Felt a little rushed
This is one of NYC's historic restaurants. Our waiter was with them 19 years, greeter 40 years. The rooms were filled with wonderful antiques and mementos. We went during Restaurant Week and price was good. Food was lackluster. Unfortunately. Ceaser salad lacked zest, veal dish, while flavorful, the veal was tough.
My wife had the burger and that was delicious. I can't say enough about the front of the house staff and how welcoming they are. We would probably return but will be more careful, We both ordered a glass of Merlot without stipulating on cost. Our two glasses of wine at $20 a glass is too much. With tax and tip the wine alone was $50! The chef needs to ramp up.
Wonderful service. I got the chicken and it was extremely dry.
Have always wanted to eat at the 21 Club and it didn’t disappoint. I thought the staff was very friendly and I doubt any restaurant in this country has this history.
I was extremely disappointed in the service at 21. It is apparently a restaurant not meant for single dining because I was pretty much ignored most of the evening, except for the gentleman pouring the water. Once my entree was served no one came to ask how my meal was. Quite frankly the service at my local Waffle House is much more exemplary than what I experienced at 21. This was supposed to be a memorable evening for me and it was - but not in a good way. Never again.
Very NYC atmosphere. Great team at the bar and service in the main room.
We love to go there whenever we are in town
Great food, service, ambiance. Enjoyed our evening.
Great food exceptional service!!!
Health is not in the chef’s mind. Breadbasket not good.
$330 for 2 people high. Ambiance alone can’t continue heritage.
This was our anniversary evening, we booked here because it looked and sounded special, we were not disappointed.
We were greeted warmly at the door and they had noted it was our anniversary and congratulated us.
All of the staff were fantastic and the setting is one of a kind.
We both enjoyed the evening very much and the little anniversary treat on my wife’s desert a really nice touch.
We had a lovely time celebrating our cousin’s birthday over lunch. Nice selection of cocktails and wines by the glass. Prix fixe menu available but needed to ask.
This was our second visit to this fine NYC landmark restaurant. We were able to reserve a special table, we were never rushed and all of the courses we enjoyed, as well as an excellent wine pairing, made for a very pleasant and enjoyable dining experience. We will definitely be back, and we will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family visiting NYC.
Excellent old school NYC nice for special occasion. Well dressed patrons.
Sharing this quintessential NY classic is always a memorable event - the clubby atmosphere, impeccable service, and old school menu always charms and makes an unforgettable experience
Had a fabulous dinner on Saturday night. Everyone was very attentive. We opted for pre theater dinner and to share an additional appetizer from the main menu. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to return.
Club 21 is iconic. The dine at 21 is to experience NYC in its former elegant glory. Always a treat.
Best hamburger with french fries I have ever eaten. Beef is mixture of filet mignon, short ribs, and sirlion!
If it wasn't the food or the atmosphere at 21 Club, the service definitely made the night. Every staff member was so polite and clearly had a roll to make our night special. The food was delicious and I loved the pre-Broadway menu. I definitely will come back to try other 21 Club dishes.
An iconic NYC eatery.Sat in the bar room. Phillip was our waiter, takes his time, very knowledgeable and a great personality to boot. Rosalina the sommelier was great help in helping us decide on a pairing, also very knowledgeable .Impeccable service.
Fantastic experience as always. A classic joint, great service and consistent delicious food on every visit.
Delicious food and fabulous service! Always a treat!
The salmon, Cesar and Strip were as good as always. Service is always professional and the wine list complete.
A great old fashion NYC resturant with a feeling of a private club.
The ambiance is neat but loud in the dining area. Food is typical American fare. If you’re a foodie probably not the place for you.
They made my sons 21st birthday fun and memorable
Spent New Years Eve with 21...what a feast!! Great service, food, music and people...will be there again for next years festivities!
Thanks 21 for helping us celebrate our 33rd year anniversary!!
2 out of 3 of our meals were over cooked!!
Great atmosphere, splendid service. The food was not over the top, but solid. Great special occasion place.
The restaurant was warm and welcoming and the Bellini was a cut above. I had the filet and it was good. The doorman was the bright star that night.
I am in love with this restaurant, from the beginning to the end customer service is number one, the treatment it’s very special, the food it’s amazingly delicious!! Must have dinner at this restaurant, number one. Love love love!!
Place is way too packed. Tables squeezed next to each other you need to ask the table neighbours and neighbours of the neighbours to please move if you want to go use the washroom. One guy exclusively busy with keeping your glass of wine full (overfilled, took one sip and he poured me two more). Overattentive... Another guy conatantly walking through restaurant checking if men wear their blazers and if they don’t he’ll tell them... Service unsympathetic and partially arrogant... Food is nice but would not come back because of service quality and atmosphere...
It’s a wonderful dining experience and service always at 21 club! Thanks for making all our dinners special.
I'm a native New Yorker but I've never been to the 21 Club. It was absolutely wonderful! I ordered tuna tartare and the duck...both were exquisite. We were a group of 6 and 1 couple, from Seattle, eat out all the time --- they were very impressed with the entire experience. Indeed, we all were very happy diners and we all had different entrees. It's worth every penny and more!
Trato despectivo por no hablar inglés.
Día perfecto de vacaciones de Navidad estropeado por un par de xenófobos.
