Fuimos con el equipo de trabajo a celebrar los resultados obtenidos en el año anterior y nos fue muy bien. Desde la llegada nos recibieron muy atentos y al final el chef salió a saludarnos y lo felicitamos por tan agradable velada. Muy recomendable.

Quintonil is ranked the 11th best restaurant in the world. It is far from that, the food was good and imaginative and the service superb. We were warned off the tasting menu by people who had eaten there two days before and our dishes were just good. $Mex 2300 all in with a bottle of wine. I’m glad we went but we won’t go back.

This was our redemption meal after a terrible lunch at Pujol

We were happy that we can order a la carte. The service was great. Servers described each dish really well. Service was really good in general.
We had a small table so they took the complimentary tortilla and bean paste and salsa away from us slightly too early. My friend regretted not asking them to leave it on the table as we saw other tables had it till their entrees arrived.
Crab tostada we really enjoyed, they also were very kind to split it for us since we ordered 3 starters to share.
Another starter mixed mushroom goodness in a puff pastry was equally delicious.
Jerusalem artichoke tamal was surprisingly light and we enjoyed it.
The oxtail melts in your mouth.
Fish that evening was trout. My friend and I thought it was so perfectly cooked.
My cappuccino was great with the pot of chocolate dessert. Perhaps the other dessert would have been more unique with local produce but I really felt like chocolate that night.

There were several tables of solo patrons. People were noticeably dressier than those who dined in Pujol.

Just wasn’t wowed. I enjoyed the crab tostada. And the escamoles, it being my first experience with ant larvae. The oxtail was good, but again, nothing spectacular. Desserts also not that great. Everyone was very nice though!

I was profoundly disappointed with Quintonil given its stellar reputation.
We arrived at the restaurant - our table was not quite ready - but we were left standing in the cramped entrance not quite sure what to do.
The first course included am accompanying sauce which was so fiercely & unpleasantly hot our mouths were left anesthetized/scolded for some considerable time. Not good.
The meal progresses from forgettable mediocre dish to forgettable mediocre dish.
The cactus salad was fresh but fairly dull and monotonous
The shrimp dish looked beautiful but came with an unpleasant gummy texture.
The aubergine dish looked beautifully lacquered but lacked flavor.
The soft shell crab - the accompanying sauces were the interesting bits - the crab lacked flavor.
The trout barbacoa - a little flimsy on flavor
The tomato dish promised the most & the sauce certainly packed a punch - however when you started eating it the juice from the tomato diluted everything.
Apart from the searingly hot dish the meal was pretty forgettable.
By contrast the meals at Sud 77 & Loup Bar the previous two evenings were overwhelmingly wonderful and flavorsome experiences.

Las entradas maravillosas, la tostada de jaiba es sensacional, el ceviche de nopal tiene una textura excelente, la experiencia es muy buena, el servicio personalizado y muy amables, este restaurante es una joya de la ciudad

Me pareció muy bueno es la primera vez que íbamos y recomendamos pedir el menú de degustación , muy bien la atención y la comida no se diga , las papas en barbacoa no fueron de nuestro agrado , pero lo demás riquisimo

The food and the service matched the excellence of your reputation, which doesn't happen too often in our experience. We don't eat large quantities any more, so the quality of the experience is very important to us. I was particularly impressed with your aesthetic of splitting our shared portions so that the tastes of one dish would not mingle with the next. That also paced the meal perfectly. Should we get to Mexico City again, Quintonil will be a definite dinner.

This is a world-class restaurant without question. Our food was elegant, creative, delicious, and beautiful. The service was crisp and courteous. This was my second Tasting Menu dinner and I was happy I returned.

TIP: Plan for 2.5 hours for the tasting menu.

So thrilled we had the chance to dine at Quintonil for lunch. The presentation of everything was bar-none superb. Highly recommend the oxtail. The Paloma negra drink was delicious--it tastes much better than it looks! I think my favorite part of the meal was the 3 course dessert tasting. You get to try desserts made with unique fruits native to Mexico (mamey, sapodilla) that really blew my mind. Anyone who visits Mexico City must eat here.

Loved the food and the drinks. The green mezcal drink is one of my favorites now.
It was hard to understand one of the waitresses.
We thought it was too loud and some of the music not right.
The mirror made the waiters always looking at themselves.

Quintonil was good, but I wish they could be more accommodating for people with dietary restrictions. Some of the other restaurants like Aperi in San Miguel and Pujol in Mexico City made customized vegan and gluten free dinners for me.

We enjoyed the 11 course tasting menu. Each dish is exquisite! Our servers were fantastic. I felt the restaurant ambiance could be updated to reflect the amazing food.

Just terrible. Decor resembles a holiday inn. The courses were rushed out and the food was incredibly underwhelming. The entire experience ruined a milestone birthday. Being robbed for the 1000 USD (for 4) would have been a more pleasurable experience.

We don’t speak Spanish but everyone is fluent in English, a bonus for us

This restaurant is 22 on a list of the top 50 restaurants in the world. It should rank higher

Each dish is a symphony of flavors, confusing and delighting the tastebuds

It would be a mistake to miss this one

For this quality of restaurant, the price is quite reasonable. The sommelier was a delight

Lived up to the hype. Beautiful dishes that were patiently explained by the waitstaff. Wonderful new tastes and flavors. Manager walking the floor to ensure patrons were happy. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Just ok. I’d rate it below a one star Michelin experience in terms of food and presentation.
Service was slow, too.
While the ingredients are very exotic most dishes had a boring taste. No dish wowed us . This is from the perspective of a San Francisco resident who frequently dines in one star restaurants.

One of my best meals ever. We enjoyed the tasting menu for lunch paired with cocktails/wine. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They spoke English perfectly. We chose to not see the menu but instead be surprised by each course. Each dish was perfect - interesting indigenous ingredients, colorful and exciting presentations, lots of different textures. PERFECT beverage pairings with wines from Spain and France, mescal cocktails, craft beer, and even a sake. By far our most pricey meal in Mexico City but well worth it. I could not imagine another trip to Mexico City without a meal at Quintonil.

Oh my! The tasting menu at lunch was outstanding. The creativity with local flavors and textures created a unique dining experience, which was beautifully paired with a new drink for each course. Four of us dined and one has a shellfish allergy and one does not eat one of the meats on the menu. The chef made amazing substitutions each delicious in its own way but staying in the theme of the rest of the plates. Delightful. Will be sure to go there again when I’m back in town.

We enjoyed the tasting menu. It does take time, so if you do not have 3-4 hours for lunch, just order off the wonderful menu. If you are a tourist coming to CMDX, book a few months ahead on Open Table so you can eat at your preferred time and date...
