We ordered from the Miami Spice menu and we certainly were not treated with less respect than anyone ordering from the regular menu. The device was attentive and we were not rushed. The bread was amazing. I am glad we were not asked if we wanted more because I could have eaten the entire loaf. Appetizers were also good and not skimpy. The main course Kobe meatball was delicious. One person at the table ordered the short rib. It was a rather small portion. Fried Oreos is a must!
When we arrived the staff was not very friendly at all. The place was not crowded and there was staff standing around and not being helpful or courteous for how slow they were. Our server was very nice and helpful, but as far as everyone else, it felt like my wife and I were more of a chore and a burden than customers. Throughout we felt very rushed even though there was no wait and half the tables were empty. Food was fine, nothing special. Overall it was a strange experience.
Just OK. Not the worst Italian food, but definitely not as good as their pricing suggests. Bread and Prosciutto were very good, but the rest of what we ordered was very ordinary. Not PRIME at all. Staff and service was good, food was disappointing.
We went for dinner and although the food and service were excellent, I felt that because we ordered from the Miami Spice menu that we were rushed through dinner. We sat down after the table next to us and in less than an hour we were brought the check and they were starting dessert. I would definitely come back but not for Miami Spice.
Haven't gone back to PI for many years, preferring both 112 and fish. But decided to try the spice menu. My opinion hasn't changed... very bad Italian food. Only go for the P 112 staples: shrimp, steak, sides, fried orios. There Italian food is below what u find on ocean Ave or Lincoln road at very high prices.
Great dinner... wasn't a great start with hostess, I didn't catch her name not that it mattered but she was a little less than welcoming. Aside from that initial bad taste from there the night was great! We had a 9:00pm reservation and were a little early, hostess was disappointed we didn't want to sit outside, told her we would wait for something indoors. In the mean time we had a few drinks at the bar which were enjoyable. Old Fashions were made with a large ice cube and definitely strong. We were sat down a little after 9:00 which was fine and started off with fried mozzarella and 500 day aged prosciutto. Highly, highly recommend both! Also their garlic bread with marinara was tasty. For entrees we ordered the sea bass which was a special served on risotto. The special fra diavolo was also very good. The sausage and ricotta stuffed meatball was massive and delish. For a side we ordered brocolli rabe, slightly more bitter than to my liking. As for dessert the chocolate marshmallow rolled cake was amazing. Totally better than the fried Oreos. Kind of like a big hoho. It was so good, if you love chocolate and marshmallow, it's a must! Can't wait to go back!
We arrived at 6 for our 6 o'clock reservation but the rude hostess kept saying I have you for 630 regardless of how many times I said my reservation is at 6. I'm about to show her my email confirmation when she said, I really don't care what your email says, my system says 630. Mind you, the restaurant had several available tables. That was the only part of the whole thing that sucked! We got sat and food was amazing! Server was awesome! Busboy was polite. The rest of the night was fantastic!
This is my second time going to Prime Italian and after this visit it will be my last. We specifically went for Miami Spice month, but they don't give you that menu you unfortunately have to ask for it. I heard at least 2 other tables asking for the Miami Spice Menu as well. I ordered a strawberry lemonade that was $10.00, which isnt listed on the menu, I didn't know until my bill came. The sad part is that it wasn't that good. Fast forward to our meal. The Branzino fish was so bland, I would not recommend it. to anyone. The icing on the cake was their new credit card system that doesn't take credit/debit cards without a chip. This is not stated when you are seated, but I was told after the face that there is a sign at the hostess desk that I obviously didn't see and if it was large enough I would've seen. I didn't have cash on me so I have to drive to Publix to get cash to pay my bill. It put a damper on my evening. Awful!!
I made reservations weeks in advance for a group of 8. When we got to the restaurant at the time of our reservation, we were told that we would have to wait 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, we were told it would be at least another 25 minutes. I asked what the problem was and the hostess replied "you're a party of 8 people." Not sure what the purpose of making a reservation for 8 people is if they aren't willing to set aside a large enough table for the group. We ended up having to leave and go to another restaurant since they probably would not have been able to seat us until midnight at the rate they were going. I suggest this restaurant be removed from open table because they clearly do not respect the service - not to mention the hostesses were extremely rude. It was also embarrassing to me since I was the person that made the reservations so I ended up looking bad to the group of people that I brought there, some of which had traveled an hour to get to the restaurant.
All reservations ere delayed by 30-45 minutes as they seemed to overbook. The restaurant was very loud and crowded - not my favorites. The food was good and a good value for Miami Spice. The service and staff were amazing as they truly were running a marathon.
they constantly and systematically overbook. I've been there before where they overbook and it takes a while to be seated but this time was the last straw. I had a 9pm reservation I was not seated and after an hour and a half waiting I left the restaurant and ate fast food at 10:30pm. Claims to be the best restaurant in Miami and the food is good (from the other times I have actually been seated) but the service sucks. There were at least 25 other people with reservations at the same time as us and waiting hours for a seat they'd reserved for and had booked well in advance to experience the supposedly amazing quality of prime italian. Really a shame
Very disappointing experience! We had an 8:30 reservation. Upon our 8:25 arrival, there was a line that took over 25 minutes of standing between the bar and dining room just to check in at the hostess desk. Very, very unorganized process. We were informed by a hostess (who didn't seem to care at all) that there would be a wait of at least 30 minutes for our table. We should go to the bar, have a drink. Not sure if this the restaurant's usual procedure to increase bar business or they never honor a reservation? Bar was mobbed, of course! Several people we spoke to decided to eat at the bar as they had also been informed of a 30+ minute wait. Drinks were generous. Finally seated at 9:45- an hour and 15 minutes after our reservation! Food was fine, service was fine. Nothing exceptional. As a point of reference, we had eaten the weekend before at one of the sister restaurants, Prime Fish, and had an outstanding experience. Food was far superior, service was attentive and our reservation was honored! I would not return to Prime Italian.
