Some food items are average and enjoyable but many are below average. Atmosphere was fun. Overpriced for what it is
Porfirios food is authentic Mexican cuisine in a beautiful setting! Loved it!
Dinner was stellar!
This place is an absolute must. It’s wonderful when you have almost unrealistic expectations and they are exceeded. Sit outside and ask for Enrique. He rocks it, and understands that his service is every bit as important as the food/presentation. His partner Henry is super attentive. My wife and I had one of our favorite dining experiences of the last decade. Try the shrimp and pineapple thing. Awesome.
Our final night in Cancun was highlighted by the wonderful food and service.
This is a must resturant to dine at when in Cancun.
This was a nice restaurant with a great vibe. This seems to be a spot for tourist to have a nicer dinner. The vibe of the restaurant was fun! Service was a bit slow.
We had a wonderful authentic Mexican meal in a fun and lively atmosphere. I would highly recommend. Staff was fantastic and food was delicious. 5 stars!
Lively atmosphere - expect two hours for dinner
Nice restaurant, a bit too loud music. Beautiful patio, comfortable chairs, terrific view. Service is very professional! They bring you authentic compliments from chief - tortillas with different salsas. Food was good, we ordered shrimps flambe and ribeye steak. Both dishes tasted average to good. Shrimps were kind of dry. But overall visit was pleasant.
Fantastic evening. Israel was our waiter and his service can not be beat. They made our evening special.
Everything was great. View was incredible at sunset. There was no kids menu which was a problem for us. Otherwise a very good high end restaurant.
The food here was delicious. While the large video screens and music were a bit overwhelming at first, the musical selections were more appropriate for dinner than some of the other restaurants we ate at nearby. All in all, a nice experience and good service.
Food was just okay. Music was a little loud. Took forever to get our drinks.
Loved the place, did not like the food, I was expecting the food to be super good but it turned out to be average
Beautiful place, good food but the music was to Loud to talk. If you want to have a nice conversation do not go there.
Beautiful! Great food and amazing service.
Food just not very good . . . trying very hard to be "different" and completely missing the mark of tasting good! Service awkward . . . lots of switching of blank plates! Lovely setting . . . everything else very disappointing . . . we will not be returning!
It was good! But second time I went there and I ordered a aperol spritz and sent me Moët Chandon! When I asked with proseco o cava
Classic Mexican food with a modern twist. Great drinks. Music was a bit loud to have a conversation with the table, more of a club like atmosphere.
Amazing service and food! We went 2x in 5 days. They remembered the wines we drank and treated us like royalty. Pablo the manager is top notch!
Rafa greeted us at the door and sat us very quickly. The service all night was amazing. The food was excellent and I with drinks, apps, and entrees the price was unbeatable. The food had an upscale take on traditional Mexican food. There is definitely enough options to provide options for any food preferences
We sat inside. Outside would have bee more preferable. Inside they play old 80s videos. Outside seemed more elegant with a view.
I was not impressed with menu. My wife and kids could hardly find what to eat. Checkout the menu first. The reviews are great but see first if there is something for everyone.
The food was fantastic and the service was lovely. Our server took time to explain the tradition of the dessert presentations... if you haven’t been here, this is a Cancun must! We will be back again and again.
I would highly recommend dining here. The waiters are amazing, very attentive and extremely friendly. The food was amazing as well. I had the fillet and it was cooked to perfection. My husband tried some Mexican dishes and he loved all of them. And an extra bonus we were outside for a breathtaking sunset.
Todo muy bien.
Incredibly noisy which makes it impossible to carry a conversation with the person sitting right next to you. Food was OK, not bad but neither unforgettable to the point that one wants to return the following night. Service was good, typical of many of the restaurants in the hotel zone. Now, what was forgettable was the wine experience.
The wine list is handed to you electronically on an iPad. Ordered Catena Malbec, the entry level label from Nicolas Catena winery. Excellent wine, great value. Seldom if ever rated below 90 by Parker, WS, etc. Waiter comes back 10 minutes later: Senor, lo siento pero no tenemos. So I now chose a Cousino Macul Cab., Chilean, very tasty. Same thing happened. But this time a manager comes back to inform me that wine is out as well. Listen, how hard can it be to delete a label that you no longer have from an electronic database? If it was a printed list I would be more sympathetic.
So with limited choices for a value red from Chile-Argentina, I settled for Alta Vista Malbec. I thought it was expensive for the juice inside the bottle but hey, c'est la vie. Only to go to Costco the following day and find that the retail price of this wine, not wholesale, was $450 peso. Porfirio is selling this wine for $1795. Do the math: an unheard of 4-fold markup. If you come, do yourself a favor and order a margarita, martini, or your drink of choice. And let the wine sit in Porfirio's bin so they get the idea that their wines are outrageously priced. Oh, and bring ear plugs. You are going to need them. For me, it is too late. The extreme noise and the wine experience means never again.
Last day in Cancun , extraordinary food and
An amazing dining experience! The ambiance & music was fun and energetic, even loved the mariachi band with trumpets. Food was served with flair (Grilled street corn appetizer served on a mini-rotisserie, shrimp flame-cooked at table, churros with 5-dipping sauces served on a mini-cart, and a pretty massive firework presented on an anniversary slice of cake)! Food quality was excellent, I had the filet (medium...cooked perfect) with lobster enchiladas. Knowledgeable and attentive server. Still less than $100 even with a nice tip. Easily top 5 most memorable meals.
Great spot for an energetic uplifting dining experience, make sure to order the beef ribs, enough for two or three with a salad.
Very good food. Atmosphere was lively Eith great music combinations of Latin, American and the mariachi band was an added bonus.
Amazing mexican food... must in Cancun!!!
Unique, incredible service...
Too loud for conversation. Food is excellent. As a vacationer, it would help to know that entrees are sized for sharing.
Great service and great atmosphere.
