Food is always good! Enjoy.
Service was lacking this last visit. The waiter was very indifferent.
We waiting over 30min for our table
Fun atmosphere and good food. We’ll return.
The food is good but overpriced at this UES mainstay but the tables are on top of each other, the sound level deafening and the waiters were sloppy at best (making us wait 15 minutes to even order a cocktail, spilling the remains of my salad into my purse on the floor and disappearing for long gaps of time.) I wouldn't return.
One of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. Always friendly service and exceptional food. The room is bright, alive and bustling, which is fun but can be difficult for anyone with hearing issues. We solved the problem by asking to be seated at an outdoor table. The three of us shared a very generous calamari appetizer, and we all had different pastas. The gluten-free pasta with mushrooms and shaved black truffles was exquisite--earthy, a riot of flavors--wonderful. Pasta itself was perfect--not the gluten-free and flavor-free afterthought some restaurants serve. Served by attentive and friendly waiters. Perfect al fresco dining in NY.
Arrived at the bar around 5:30 to wait for a friend. Quiet at first but the bar and restaurant soon filled up. The service was great as was the ambience. The food was good. The Fegatini Toscana was good but the presentation was lacking. I would have enjoyed it more if it was served on a small plate with the chicken livers slightly “smothering” the polenta rather than in a soup style
dish completely smothering the polenta. It ate more as a stew which may have been the intent but not quite what I was expecting. It was also difficult cut the chicken livers in the bowl with high sides. I think it would have been more manageable
On a small plate with a flat surface. Overall, I’ll return but won’t order the same meal.
Lovely. Food excellent
A sophisticated upper east side scene. Food is wonderful. Simple but flavorful. The pasta is a dream. Service top notch. Go. You won’t be disappointed.
Had a great brunch here so came back for dinner. Service was just okay and food was salty and tasted days old.
The food is always delicious and waitstaff are terrific
Not a vacant seat in the restaurant so the noise level was high, otherwise outstanding.
Yes I would recommend Paola's, excellent restaurant for great Italian food. Good wine list some very well priced. Service always excellent. A pity that some guests arrive in dirty shorts and T shirts and flip flops, if it were my restaurant Id send them home to get dressed first. I hate ties and jackets but please just get a little dressed when you come to this great place for dinner. Branzino was excellent, so was the chicken breast Milanese .
Our favorite restaurant! We feel at home here. We love the food, the staff and management! Romolo (Pepito) Algeni, our dear friend, always takes the best care of us! great!!! We go to Paola’s in the city regularly for years and are so happy that they opened in East Hampton!!! We go to the Hampton’s almost weekly during the summer. So nice to have our favorite restaurant there and in the city! All the food is exceptional. Our favorite appetizer is the Roman Style Artichokes and the Bronzino for entree. Their homemade pastas and raviolis are delicious. Especially the Agnolotti!!!!
I was greeted very warmly from every member of the staff
Armando was fantastic
The kind of place I felt at home and would go again just for that
While we miss the regular presence of Paola and Stephano, we greatly appreciate this very high quality family owned restaurant serving the classic Italian dishes that represent authentic cuisine. The standard menu and the specialty menu do not disappoint. Very highly recommended
We love this venue for the outdoor seating in warm months. In cold months the place is noisy but the food and service make up for this.
Fabulous dinner!!! Half of us had pasta and the other had fish. Everyone LOVED their dinner and not too $$$$
Best restaurant in this neighborhood.
Consistently good quality food and excellent service.
Large bar, big wine list - something for everyone.
Not for little children - the clientele skews to older crowd on weeknights.
Food is always consistent
Good local Italian restaurant. Good service. Nice wine list.
After not ordering drinks, server seemed a bit disinterested. Food runners very pleasant. Food of high quality nicely presented. Tables for 2 extremely close. Nice buzz though noise level can become high!
A bit pricey.
Amazing food, fantastic service, wonderful environment
Wonderful all around - the Taglierini was superb.
Dynamite food for all four of us, beautifully prepared and served in a relaxing and elegant (but unfussy) atmosphere. There were ten different things I wanted on the menu. Always happy here.
The pasta is house made so delish. The service was a bit discombulated in terms of wait staff, so my hope is that improves.
Our hotel gave us $150 in dining action coupons to use at the restaurant. The owner would only honor one of them and was nasty and said he didn’t give a damn this is his restaurant.
Very good food, but the staff seemed to want to rush us to order, rush us to finish our meal, and rush us to finish our dessert. Very odd, since the restaurant was not crowded
Best in neighbourhood. Great service. Attentive to customers needs.
As always, Paola's food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Room is dark and depressing particularly with curtains closed. Service was passable at best. Took a long time to acknowledge our presence and menu was presented with lack of enthusiasm or help. No follow up during meal.
Food and menu is good but not to make up for the lack of ambiance and poor service.
Bring back Busby's
Food as always very delicious and some items not on the menu at every Italian restaurant. Good wine list with a number of well priced wines. Think they didn't expect to be as crowded as they were and were short a waiter so service was a bit slow. But we'll still go back.
I have been a customer of this restaurant for the last 10years and have also considered it a favorite on all levels. Tonight changed that all for me. U
On arriving with my husband and daughter and so. In lE, we were taken to a table and were about to sit down when the l manager “ Armando started yelling at me to get WY and continued yelling when we left the table. I asked him calmly to stop yelling at me and that I would never return. He said who cares. Needless to say, we left and I will never go back. I had never seen him in 10years and now will never have to worry.
Cute, neighborhood restaurant. A little pricey but good food, efficient service.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant. Food was great - the restaurant is always reliable- we’ve never been disappointed.
There is a new "manager" type at the door. Very Rude...Paola and Son take note. We had reservations and when I arrived I reminded him that I asked to sit a free standing table not seated in one of the banquette tables. he became most upset telling me the restaurant had no banquette seating, well I showed him the banquette seating. Very rude man, not customer oriented which is so unlike the restaurant has always been.
Excellent food. Service not very attentive. Also, ceiling fans turned off and room became quite warm!
Food and service were excellent. Would love to go there again when I'm in NY!
