Excellent service at this gem of an Indian restaurant. Food is fresh and incredibly tasty, service is prompt and personal and the value is incredible. £33 for popadoms, starters, Mains and sides for two people. What else is there to say?
Our favourite in this area!
Good food in a stylish environment with friendly staff.
Really good, really nice, well attended and well recommended for owner.
Don't worry for the 'spicy food', they manage very well different spicy 'grades'.
We recommend it, you should try it.
We were in London for holidays and we will come back again to eat in Palki :)
Palki is an excellent Indian restaurant with very good prices and delicious food. We did not appreciate the colored 'mood' lighting in the restaurant and found it a bit tacky and poorly displayed the food. Blue mood lighting like this presents what would otherwise look delicious, in an almost inedible brown color.
Change the lights, keep the food and great prices. And don't speak rudely to the waitstaff. Just because it isn't run by long-time British-Londoners does NOT give you the right to speak rudely.
This is a solid neighbourhood Indian. Exceptional value for the quality received - particularly when you consider it is BYOB. Staff were friendly and attentive all evening and went the extra mile to make a masala tea for us. Not the flashiest spot in town, but a classic, reliable spot for wholesome curries.
We visited Palki for the first time last week. Great place, genuinely friendly staff and excellent food. Also very good value for money, which certainly helps. We chose a selection of dishes that all had their own distinct flavours, unlike some places where it can be difficult to tell the difference between one dish and another. I even found myself liking okra which normally doesn't do anything for me.
When you visit - and make sure that's a when not an if - make sure to order some chef's specials and ask for the house recommendations, and be ready to settle in for a good evening with hospitable people and excellent food. You can even take your own wine if you wish.
Recommended for anything from a romantic date night to a large family get together and pretty much anything in between. Those looking for a larger booking could do well to rent the downstairs space which looks like it could comfortably host about 50 sitting down.
Attentive & helpful wait staff.
Delicious food from a wide & diversified menu.
Wonderful overall experience
I have been coming to the Palki in Notting Hill for years now, and it has always been a pleasure. Last night I brought a party of four friends and we had a feast. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared. and the service, as always was charming. I found it exceptional value for money too. Highly recommended.
Palki is not in a super area and nor does it look super smart but the food and service are outstanding. We have been twice and highly recomend.
Had a nice meal here last night. Food is very reasonably priced and they've a fairly extensive drinks list. The Masala Chicken was a nice surprise and something I don't see often on Indian menus. It was spicy and flavourful. Chana was also good. I'd say they could offer more rice as the portion was very small and I was left with more curry than rice. Good value for money and the staff are all friendly.
Palki does not look anything more than a nice local curry house but the food is outstanding. Freshly cooked and delicious - try it
I've been going to Palki in Westbourne Park for several years now, and have never been disappointed. Took a couple of American friends last night who love good Indian food (not so easy to find in the States) and they were most impressed. A small, homely place, delicious food, charming service, excellent value. Highly recommended.
This was our second visit to Palki in Notting Hill's Golborne Road. It is a very friendly, unfussy and welcoming local Indian restaurant. The food is good and so is the value. There was a very minor mix-up with one dish which we hadn't ordered but they were more than happy to remove it from the bill and offered us a complimentary drink. Overall a very pleasant evening - recommended.
Palki in Notting Hill, London is a good local Indian restaurant with a pleasant decor that is a cut above most. The dishes are well and freshly spiced and for once not swimming in ghee or butter. a crab starter was good, as were the king prawns. Chicken dhansak was not authentic (haven't found one in London yet, so that's not a huge critiscism). but tast nonetheless. The short wine list is good and service was very friendly and attentive. All in all enjoyed it very much.
While knowing I am a Toptable client, I was offered free papadoms. Food is good, so is the service. I wanted to order something outside the 2 course menu, the manager was very accomdating. He gave me 30% off food and drink instead. Definite recommended.
This was our first visit to Palki which turned out to be a very pleasant restaurant, with very friendly staff (who are proud of their food), serving good North Indian cuisine (with enough veggie options to keep me happy), at very reasonably prices. We'll be back.
