Old Ebbitt Grill
Great food and good service. A definite stop when in DC.
Everything was delicious and very delicately prepared.
Simply an outstanding dining experience - from the perfectly prepared filet mingon to the fascinating history of OEG. A must-experience DC venue!
Many friends and family recommended Old Ebbitt when we were planning our first trip to DC. We were not disappointed at all. Friendly hostess that was very understanding when we called to say we were running late. The decor was perfect. The seating was comfy after a day of walking. The food was amazing. Def recommend dessert!
I had been looking forward to my visit to the Old Ebbitt, and it did not disappoint! I recommend sitting in the bar area, as it's considerably less noisy. Both food & service we incredible!
Nothing but perfection!
Overall the best food we had while in DC. Service was excellent.
Just the best Crab Cakes, served perfectly, in a classic dining room. I do not see how any of that could possibly be improved! We will return every time we visit the capital.
Nice place. Made reservations weeks before. Stuck in a booth with one of us on end in aisle. Was there for a birthday. No one said anything. Weird. Good good. But overpriced but I guess that’s how DC is.
Definitely important to make a reservation. We made it in time for brunch and enjoyed the best brioche French toast I have ever had. Our server was welcoming and excellent. I love the atmosphere, beautiful artwork and decor. I would highly recommend you try give Old Ebbitt Grill a try!
Over priced and over rated. We had reservations but still had to wait for a mediocre table smushed between many others. Sorry, we heard so many nice things but my crab cake was “fine” and so glad I did not opt for getting two, way over-priced cakes with too much cayenne pepper.
Good food and service.
Been going here for years as I go in and out of DC. I have never had a bad experience!! Highly recommend it!
Need coat room to store rolling bags
Awesome brunch in a historic and beautifully appointed restaurant. Location is fabulous, right near the White House!
Really great experience. Even though it was busy, everyone was very attentive and the food came out very quickly.
Bar and bar tender was excellent. That atmosphere was almost our favorite part.
Table selection was good- thanks. Server was also very good and food was quite good. Wine selection was off a bit and the one we got was decent, but I expected a tad better for price. Coffee tasted burned and server was prompt to offer another cup and it was not his fault. I think that was a kitchen overview mistake . In any event glad to treat my wife to dinner there and we enjoyed ourselves .
I was 10 minutes late for my reservation but no problem at all! Great food and service all around.
We were taken care of as soon as we entered the restaurant. They had our reservation and the table was ready. They took our order in a timely manner and the food was delivered promptly and correct. The food was very good and the staff were friendly. We would go back.
Breakfast menu isn’t available on weekends which was very disappointing and limiting, especially to our kids.
Very good for a late night meal. Was very happy that it was open (after midnight). The service was wonderful. Wait staff gave us time to sit and enjoy the food and dining partner. The food was also very good. I would definitely return.
So great went next day for lunch! Both days were excellent!
I love Ebbits. It’s my go-to for out of town guests and special occasions. Every meal I’ve had here has been fantastic quality. This time around we were unfortunately placed right next to a server station which was frenetic and distracting with people coming and going constantly. There should not be a table in this location!
We had dined at Ebbits when we were last in DC in 2000 . We were there for our Blue Ribbon school ceremony. Great memories so had to return. It did not disappoint.
Family gathering with student in DC
One of the best places in Dc. Historic, affordable, awesome food.
Nice place for dinner
It had been 25 years since I was there last and it was still absolutely incredible!!
Waiter great! Ambiance great! Tables way too close together. Lobster came with lots of shell with no fork to take it out of shell. Lobster was rubbery. And no spoon for rolling pasta. A very messy dish! Would not order again. Meatloaf was good - would order again.
Happy hour is amazing-all oysters including the platter are half off! The orca platter is a steal and delicious. Two of us split it for dinner and it was the perfect amount of food for us. We didn't try any entrees, but the cocktails and especially mocktails were pricey but worth it to splurge. Jack was an informed and attentive server and with our reservation there was no wait. I can certainly see why this place has such a good reputation!
Always great food and service
Would appreciate more gluten free choices for lunch. Only had a couple options which wasn’t much. Thanks.
Nice to go because it's a classic name and atmosphere. The food was good but it was very crowded and noisy at lunch. Very glad we had a reservation.
Well and specifically prepared food. Great staff and servers. Highly recommend always. This is a special place. Don't change anything.
Polished operation! Management and staff love working together to please dining guests.
As usual the place was packed. Our waiter was outstanding and the service was prompt. Not sure how the kitchen does it.
Great food and service was spot on! Was able to have a nice conversation over dinner with an old friend. Food was delicious and our bill was less than expected! Love to bring guests from out of town here! Always so special!!
Great food, noisy as usual. To be expected.
Great food! Great service!
Jen was our server. She was very helpful with menu suggestions. Our daughter in law had a birthday and they brought her dessert with a candle. Food was delicious!! Atmosphere fantastic! Will go back next time we are in DC,
