Number 16 Restaurant
Excellent as usual. Good value. Perfect for a Saturday high the meal out.
One of the best restaurants in Glasgow. It never disappoints!
This is the second visit for lunch in 3 months and I’ll be back! Travelled through from the east coast and it was definitely worth the journey.
My starter of cod brandade was delicious and my main of chicken was succulent- how come my chicken never tastes like this? Freshly shelled peas served with the chicken were fabulous. The hake my friend had was yummy too. Really can’t do justice to the quality of the food - high end dining at budget price!
Service was everything you’d want - attentive and friendly but never intrusive.
The restaurant is cosy and unpretentious clearly making food the star of the show.
I really can’t recommend No 16 highly enough.
We had a three course lunch there. Starter and dessert were lovely, however our main course pork belly half of it were over cooked with dry layer of tough meat. We made a comment on it, the waitress said will tell the chef, but we didn’t hear anything back. Perhaps we were too polite and tried to finish the dish without complaint earlier. But there were chance they could make it up to us after the main course, but nothing were offered nor response from the chef. So very disappointed with the overall experience. We had much better pork belly before and we know what freshly out of oven one tastes like.
We were with friends from Washington DC and wanted to take them to a Scottish restaurant. The menu did not disappoint and nor did the quality of the food. Service was excellent and our waitress was delightful. I particularly liked the scallops and they both had the lamb which they loved.
Food was delicious and excellent service. Cosy setting too. Can’t really ask for much more.
Excellent food and service, won't leave it as long between visits next time!
Great value lunch menu. Starters and main courses inventive and very tasty. I will definitely visit again when on Glasgow.
Great casual dining. This is the third time that we have eaten here. Each time the food has got better and better. Every element of every dish was excellent. This is a great " local food " restaurant and I look forward to going back again soon.
Odd menu range
Excellent to good food (Monkfish tail, blah)
First class service.
WAY TOO NOISEY!
Excellent two course set lunch. Main truly delicious, creative ingredients, excellent flavours. I would normally go for a non veggie main, but chose the veggie one (roast tenderstem broccoli) and very pleased I did so. Nearly didn't go for the chocolate mousse as it came with mint ice cream which I am not normally that keen on. The mint ice cream was amazing, I choose my words carefully, the other two people I dined with agreed on this. Their meals were also excellent.
Superb food, great service. No.16 is a gem of a restaurant.
First class food, service and atmosphere. Loved it.
Fantastic food and wine and the cheeses were to die for . Staff so pleasant and professional. Well worth a visit
Excellent food and service. Only disadvantage too small and tables very close to each other causing high level of noise
hadn't been for years - not sure why not. What a lovely experience. Food was delicious and the staff were delightful. Pleasant and suitably attentive. I'm going to be a regular.
Yet again superb night, great food and service always love to visit when in Glasgow.
One of our favourite restaurants in Glasgow, couldn't recommend more!
We took friends from New Zealand and this was the best meal we have ever had in Glasgow. The restaurant is small but that is not a problem. The service is attentive and friendly - exactly the right balance. The food was impeccably prepared and without exception delicious. For the first hour there was blessedly no muzack but then for some reason it started up - totally unnecessary and superfluous in such a cosy bistro.
But we are already looking forward to our next visit.
From the moment we showed up and were accommodated early for our reservation, I knew we found a gem. This restaurant served up great starters, main courses, desserts and had a pretty great wine selection. The service was spot on and really made us feel welcomed. Although we drove over from Edinburgh, we’d gladly do it nightly if we lived here.
Randomly went to this restaurant when I was in town for a conference -- what a gem! Evening dinner was a special event, food was cooked perfectly, service was warm and friendly and the restaurant couldn't be cozier. Highly recommended.
Beautiful food....looking forward to my return
Lunch, wine , company, what's not to like
Took a while to get menus, order being taken but it was full and busy. Food was very good but did think £60 for 2 with 1 course each and no alcohol was a bit expensive. Actually mains were priced adequately was probably £5 for side dishes that was expensive but size of dishes required them
Small cosy restaurant. It is necessary to make a reservation. Nice flavor combinations, healthy kitchen. Very friendly staff. Always great if you can have tap water. One off my top 3 restaurants in Glasgow.
Scallops were excellent - large , lightly cooked /nice sauce - followed by excellent lamb dish - very, very tasty. We drank the house white - sauvignon? , very good and a jug of excellent Carmenere Reserva . All good , but the deserts were I'm afraid unexciting , apart from a plate of cheese , which is quite expensive , but went well with last of the Carmenere. I would suggest sticking with starters and mains - definitley the house's best suits on our visit.
I went with my three sisters (one celebrating 50th) and my daughter 21st celebration. We had a wonderful meal. The service was excellent. Reasonably priced for a special occasion.
Ordered the monk fish tail which was dry, didn’t taste fresh and was more like a starter than a main course. Very disappointed as had heard great things about this restaurant.
Bit pricey. Service excellent. Food good dessert excellent
Food is always wonderful and desserts are a particular pleasure.
First time of visiting this cosy little restaurant. Have lived on Byres road and in the west end for many years and always knew of the good reputation the place had. I would say perhaps a touch over priced, but this is a family owned local business in an expensive rates area so happy to pay. Very friendly and warm atmosphere. Will definitely not leave it another umpteen years before visiting again.
Restaurant was really lovely, very cosy! The servers were amazing and did everything they could to accommodate us, moving us onto a larger table before we ordered and just generally being really decent people! Food was amazing!! Highly recommend!
Great restaurant, great value, great food, highly recommend
Excellent food and service. Our server more than happy to help on the menu and wine.
Was a surprise visit to the restaurant to check out Paul Wallace's food. Had promised my son i would drop in next time we were through in Glasgow. The quality of food was excellent and presentation very good. What made the evening was the attentiveness and chats with the waitresses, they even assisted in organising the surprise at the end of the night. Will most certainly be back again. Thanks for a great evening.
Never ever disappointed by the food, the service or the wine. We absolutely love this restaurant.
Really good food and nice portion sizes - not too big. Quite expensive but very good quality with a nice atmosphere and friendly service
Rustic woody atmosphere , a casual ambiance but Food more on the fine dining end of spectrum . Nice menu choices . Only thing is when booking with open table a Table d’Haut set menu is provided but when we got to the restaurant it was not on offer - just A la Carte . Would definitely recommend
A fabulous intimate setting, perfect place to dine as a couple or in a group with friends. The food was fantastic quality with lots of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and very friendly. I highly recommend the Turkish Delight for dessert.
Really nice place. Food consistently good. Fresh and original. As filling it as light as you like. Service always good. A local gem.
Superb. Second time we have been and there is a choice of decent places to eat in Byres Road but we believe this beats the other when all is considered.
