New Jomuna calificaciones y reseñas
Very disappointed with this restaurant. The food was ok but the service was dreadful. Will definitely not be going back.
I booked this for my husbands birthday and we were both disappointed.
They would not even speak to me. I would say something but they would just look at me and say nothing back. They looked very moody and did not make us feel welcome at all.
I think they really need to work on customer service skills.
The restaurant was empty (not surprised) when we arrived and only 1 other couple came in when we were there.
I would avoid this restaurant if I was you.
I will not recommend this to anyone and will never visit this place in future. Service was very very poor. Waiter was very rude and was not co-operative. He doesn't care of the customer and business at all. We had been there with one of our clients and found hair in the food, and waiter said it is not their hair instead of apology. I would request management to look into this and focus on customer and providing better service.
We were not experienced at ordering Indian food but we wanted to experience this type of food. The waiter made us feel at home and took time to explain to us about the food and the different regions of India from which they originate. He ensured that everything we ordered was suited to our tastes, two of my kids don't like curry, one likes spicy, one likes sweet. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The waiter also brought out a wonderful assortment of starters before our meal which allowed us to try a wide variety of foods with different sauces. All the food was well prepared and tasted fresh.
Awful restaurant. Booked a table for 5 people via OpenTable. Two of us turned up 10 mins early and there seems to be no awareness of our booking, the Manager kept asking if I really wanted a table for 5, I confirmed several times. The restaurant was completely empty. Just a bizarre conversation. Very unwelcoming Manager/staff. For some reason clearly didn't want the business from a group of friends meeting to chat over dinner.
Went across the road to the Turkish restaurant Kazan - they could not have been more welcoming. Moved some bookings around to clear a table for us immediately. Proper service, very welcoming. Perhaps the staff from here should get some tips.....
Food was nice but not exceptional. The waiter was not able to explain the dish on the menu. Part way through ordering, he stopped me in order to get pen and paper, stating that he can't remember it all! Then he needed to see the item on the menu being ordered because he can't spell! I asked for tap water and was told that they do not serve tap water and I can only order large bottled water! There was extra charge for chutney which got taken away when main course arrived! Ambiance is lacking, service is poor, food is fine and price is reasonable.
We ate at New Jomuna as we were staying overnight on business.
We were all very pleased with the meal and the service was largely very good. In particular one of the staff members was very friendly and attentive and we were asked many times whether all was ok. I was a little disappointed at the angry look I received upon paying from the bill on card without an added tip. I was using a corporate card and cannot leave a tip on card as it would not have matched the value of the receipt. We did leave a cash tip and I always tip in cash anyway whether business or pleasure but it did not dampen the experience, it was just something I though unnecessary.
The food was really good and I felt it was all fresh - just a note that I ordered a curry that I did not expect to be spicy but it was quite hot so perhaps just let a staff member know how you like it before ordering!
All in all I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who enjoys the cuisine.
Me and my partner went for some pre theatre food to be greeted in a rather unfriendly way. I also got told we couldn't sit in a reserved table before even being asked wether we had a reservation. As we were the only people in there at the time we could hear a small bit of the music as it was being drowned out by the waiting staff eating crisps behind the bar to then have them not wash their hands before serving our food. Overall it was a poor dining experience that gave let down what could have Been a lovely meal. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that's looking for a friendly and pleasant dining experience!
Our group (5) ordered a variety of starters and mains, everything from a mild korma to a hot jalfrezi, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The portion size is good, and the food is full of flavour. Loved the lime pickle with the pompadoms too.
The waiting staff was very attentive, the value was good, and I'd recommend as a good choice for Indian food in the area.
Our overall impression was of a rather unfriendly restaurant. We asked for a different table than the one offered and that didn't seem to go down well though the restaurant was not full. The staff seemed rather unfocused - kept trying to take away the poppadums and sauces before we had finished and missed bringing one of the main dishes until we asked. The food was ok and the house wine surprisingly good but I don't think we'll rush back.
The food there is quite good though the service can be a bit hit and miss. We had ordered different kinds of beers and they brought the same bottled beer. At first they were not happy that I sent it back and then the manager came over and I had to explain it again. Otherwise the service was good.
The portions are not huge but enough. The did push the papadoms a bit heavily.
Sent my Boss there for dinner with Colleagues (10). On the site looks nice, but on arrival the restuarant looked terrible. Looked like a dodgy Indian with grey glass on the outside, and was certainly not a gem of a find. Food was beyond average. And tried to call them to secure the semi private area, but they close from 3-6pm. My bookings was at 6pm, so I couldn't contact them prior ot my booking. Would not answer phones etc. Would never book again.
Ate at New Jomuna early Thursday evening. It was surprisingly busy and probably too late for them to be pre-theatre diners. Food was excellent and arrived fairly quickly given the number of diners. Menu not spectacular but something there for most tastes. Would recommend and would certainly go again. Toilets were probably the worst aspect, down some dingy stairs, but didn't spoil ther experience.
We have been New Jomuna a few times now and the food is always good with plenty of choice. We like to eat early and haven't always booked but as the restaurant fills up very quickly if you go later probably advisable to book.
The decor and lighting are just right - not so dim that you can't see what you are eating. The service is good, pleasant but not intrusive
Went here for a Friday night curry with some friends. The food was nice and the service was very good but it was nothing particularly special. There weren't many people there (odd for a Friday night in Victoria) so it felt a bit flat and the toilets are a bit basic. Reasonably priced for the area. I'd probably go again but I wouldn't rush back.
The New Jomuna was an excellent choice for a curry night. The food was fantastic. We booked for a group of 5 and all had different food. Everyone's meal was tasty. The service was generally good but sometimes it was difficult to get a waiter's attention. The restaurant was also really busy and we went on a Tuesday night, so that's a good sign!
