Four of us had an excellent meal at The Lodge last night. despite being very busy the table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. As with all the Colchester Inns venues there is an extensive and varied menu, which I would thing suites most peoples tastes. People who are new to the group should be aware that the main course portions are generous. When we were ready our order was taken and when the food arrived it was exactly as we have come to expect, high quality, beautifully cooked and presented by pleasant and attentive staff. We look forward to our next visit which we know will not disappoint.

Best Sunday lunch Everyone friendly and helpful Only down side dogs are allowed in all areas Think more thought should be given to us that don’t like eating in the same areas as dogs and those that may be allergic to them .

The waiter was warm and welcoming and we were seated very quickly. The atmosphere was relaxed and decor pleasing. We were a party of 5 and most ordered the beef roast. I am gluten free and fortunately they had a GF option. It was the best roast dinner I have ever eaten out. The meat was perfect as were the vegetables and roast potatoes. The GF Yorkshire pudding was so tasty as was the gravy. No grease on my plate! There were empty plates all round. The puddings were delicious as well. All round a perfect afternoon with my husband ou daughter and grandchildren. Thank you.
