Lvxor stands on Peristil, the courtyard at the centre of Diocletian's Palace, under the bell tower of St Domnius. The interior was built in 1941 and is protected in the highest category of monument in Croatia.Outside, guests sit on cushions on the Roman steps, where drinks, pizza and starters are served. The full menu is served indoors, under stone vaults.Live music plays every evening from 20:00 until 31 October. From 1 November it plays on Friday and Saturday, indoors. The set is acoustic: guitar and voice, sometimes double bass and saxophone.Breakfast is served from 08:00. The bar list holds 31 cocktails, the wine list nine whites, nine reds and five rosés by the glass. The kitchen takes orders until 23:30, the bar until midnight.A private dining room for up to 80 people looks out on Peristil and the cathedral.Guests name the date cake most often, and crni rižot, black cuttlefish risotto.Lvxor is named after Luxor in Egypt, where the sphinxes on the square came from.
