Mon Ami Gabi - Reston calificaciones y reseñas
Great food and great service. On a busy Sunday, holiday weekend, dinner day, with son in tow, we were lucky to have a reservation. While the hostess was on the phone, a manager stepped in quickly to greet and seat us. I assumed the staff in business casual gear, not in uniforms, were managers. Dinner service was a little slow for some but we enjoyed the pace. And as busy as it was, We weren’t rushed and we received great service. Our first steak was over cooked but was quickly replaced. Everyone there was working hard to make our dining experience and enjoyable one. To me, this is how a restaurant should operate. Food was amazing too. Looking forward to going again.
Holiday weekend busy for a Sunday night. Our food took forever, and the two steaks were cold as was the sauce. Our daughters trout was perfect. Clearly the steaks had to wait on the fish. I was very disappointed. It has been a while since we were there and I was excited as it used to be our favorite. My husband won't go back anytime soon. I used to go for an early lunch on the weekend so perhaps it's better when they are not busy.
We were a party of 4 and we all had a lovely time. All the staff members including host and waitress, and all servers were very nice and did a great job. The drinks were perfect and the food was delicious. We had a good time and definitely plan to go back soon.
Food and service was good but who decided to seat a family with small kids next to the table reserved for people celebrating their anniversary? Lack of attention to detail. When I complained about it no-one cared or did anything. I didn't enjoy my anniversary dinner sitting next to shrieking kids.
Unfortunately, we were there to celebrate and we were disappointed with the evening. We special ordered appetizers - no love was put into it. We ordered steaks and they were over cooked. All and all, we feel as if the food and service has become inconsistent.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We recieved a gift card so we decided to use it for valentines. What an incredible experience. Good old fashioned customer service! Our waiter David was so helpful and very attentive. He was amazing! We will ask for him next time. The food was perfect. We chose the steak and it was cooked perfectly the way we liked it. And I love the way my water glass was continually being filled!
Overall a wonderful experience and we plan on coming back even without the gift card!
Went for dinner and ended up just ordering cocktails and apps - it was all amazing and the waitress was on point; this was also on Valentine's day - I can't imagine going on a night when they're not incredibly busy. If you're thinking about going, stop thinking and just book it.
Went to a very early dinner. There were only about 4 or 5 tables occupied, yet the hostess sat us down between two full tables -- our table was only about 3 inches away from the other occupied tables. Because the restaurant was empty, we could hear the conversations at those tables easily (and they could hear us). Was kind of awkward. Have no idea why they insisted they pack us together when 95% of the restaurant was empty (it was only 4:00).
The food is pretty fresh and well prepared. The happy hour menu offers better deals though. The stripped bass special I had was delicious, but I thought the portion was on the small side.
Busy night. Even with a reservation, we had to wait a half hour for a table. The staff kept us informed, though their scheduling should have been better. Once seated, the service was its usual high standard and food, as always, was yummy.
Dining with another couple, the restaurant provided the usual quality experience. Service was there when you wanted it and absent when there was no need. Sunday night half-price wine is always a winner. Since they added the Bison Rib-eye to the permanent menu it is my go-to location for a hearty, red meat meal.
Fresh baked bread and triple filtered water make for nice additions. The dessert menu is not extensive but really does offer something for everyone in its 6 or 7 options. We had the bread pudding and that night's special, flour-less chocolate cake. Both were winners.
Great as always! This place is consistently wonderful - great service and great food. I miss last winter's scallop dish, though. The butternut squash with Brussels leaves and hazelnuts is one of my favorites. I enjoyed the new mix with currants, but I look forward to the more savory version coming back. Our server was clearly knowledgeable about wine pairings and went to great lengths to ensure that our one party member with a diary allergy was well advised. We all had a wonderful evening, and no one rushed us out. Now...if we could just get them to stop clearing plates until the last person is finished....
Mon Ami Gabi is our go-to restaurant for date night, out-of-town guests and celebrations. We love the menu options. The food preparation is consistently delicious. The service is excellent, especially when we have our preferred server - she knows us by name and by our preferences. The managers, too, go out of their way to make each experience exceptional for us as regulars.
Our guests and ourselves enjoyed our dinner at the Reston Mon Ami Gabi. We normally eat at the Bethesda Row location, but thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Reston. The staff, entire staff, run a tight restaurant and it shows how much they enjoy what they are doing. The food and service were both top notch. Mon Ami Gabi has been one of our favorite restaurants for close to 20 years and will continue be.
Went for our anniversary. The hostess was pleasant and sat us right away. The waiter who offered us bread and water was pleasant as well. The main waiter was aloof and acted annoyed when we didn't order wine or a cocktail. The charcuterie and cheese board was quite good. And the kids meal was also quite good with good size portions. The main entrees for the adults were okay for the price (over $30 each). Nothing spectacular, just good. Ambiance was nice. Good date spot or after a movie.
Worst experience I ever had. Waiter made us wait and was very rude. We got a replacement waiter who was equally bad and argumentative. We used prepaid VISA gift card to pay for part of our meal. They didn't take the entire amount and lied about it as we looked up on line that the majority of the amount was deducted. When we confronted them, the waiter was argumentative and said he does not know why it was like that (on the expense of us). Manager did nothing to compensate for all the trouble.
Mon Ami Gabi came through again. Even though I am trying to be careful of my diet, was able to totally enjoy the lovely salmon on a bed of spinach and baby kale. Service was outstanding (of course, I did have my favorite waiter). small glitch with one item, which my waiter made right. This is one of those things I truly love above Mon Ami - they focus on making sure your meal is completely enjoyable.
This is a reliable restaurant for good comfort food with a French undertone. Been there several times and it has always been a good experience. The combination of well prepared food, good wine list, great atmosphere, good service, reasonable prices provides me with reasons to keep going back.
A quiet Sunday night dinner started with cocktails at the bar with Dave. He immediately informed us that it was 1/2 price wine bottle night. He suggested a nice bottle for us to enjoy before our meal. Excellent service
We moved to our table, well after our reservation time but the host was very accommodating. We had such a nice time at the bar that we lost track of time.
We opted for the seafood platter with a beautiful lobster, fresh oysters, large chilled shrimp, and salmon rilliets. This dish is one of our favorites. It is excellent for sharing and very reasonable priced.
Our server was very attentive. He recommended a nice Margaux to pair with our small plates.
This was a truly enjoyable
On our way out, as the restaurant had slowed considerably, the manager, Judd, asked about our experience. He thanked us for being regular guests.
Professionals from start to finish.
We've been to Mon Ami Gabi several times, and have really enjoyed it. This time was a Saturday night, so it was jammed, and the food was a mixed bag. My tournedos, the special of the day, were overcooked and barely still warm by the time they were served, which was pretty disappointing for a $35 entree. My three dinner companions all enjoyed their dinners considerably more. Service, as usual, was very good and attentive. I'll probably go back again eventually, but I will try to find a less crowded time when the kitchen is more likely to be on top of the food preparation -- and I doubt I'll be risking another $35 entree.
Our group of six was seated in a small private room. This was a pleasant surprise and made for a very quiet and intimate dinner. Unfortunately, no waiter saw us for the first 10 minutes until we went and asked for a waiter. After that, the waiter was moderately attentive although not very informative or lively. The busboy was far more attentive. All of the food was enjoyable and the portions were healthy. The side salad was surprising boring. Both the steaks and the fish dishes that we ordered were very good.
