Very rude hostess. Terrible.
Wonderful place for a post graduation lunch with family!
Great ambiance, service, food! Always has been! Love their attention to detail!
We were celebrating birthdays and had brunch at Mon Ami Gabi. It was fabulous from the minute we arrive. The staff happily moved us to a table at the back of the restaurant. Our sever was very sweet and delivered delicious bread and out drinks while we waited for our party. Everything was delicious and I’d recommend the eggs Benedict. Not the cheapest brunch around but so worth it!!!
Outstanding food and service. We have been there many times and always assured of an above average experience.
Steve, our waiter, was excellent, anticipating our every need. Food was great, as always
Took my two girlfriends that turned 30 for a brunch. The food and service was wonderful! I will definitely be coming back!!
The entire experience was delightful! Our server was great and made great recommendations. The food was outstanding and I am looking forward to going back soon.
I visit Reston VA often. I stay in Town Center and end up eating at MonAmi just about every time I am here. I am convinced that my experience is directly relates to the service provided.
Yesterday was ok, not great
Three of us had dinner on a rainy night so we could not sit at the inviting outside tables. My wife had the house specialty, steak frits, and except for the bearnaise sauce, which I thought plain, was excellent. Our companion had the chicken grande mere and said it was quite good. I had the tornadoes with blue cheese stuffed potatoes off the daily offering board Also very good, but I thought overpriced. (I should have checked.) The restaurant was full, but still the noise level was moderate. Our server was excellent--attentive and courteous. Finally, we were very pleased and surprised when, after declining dessert, our server brought us the house specialty profiteroles as a complementary recognition of our first visit to the restaurant. Although stuffed, we managed to finish them off!
Always great service and food. Love the perfitterols!
It was busy, but service was still good. Diana did a good job waiting on us. Food was tasty, we were very satisfied overall.
Outstanding food and service on a busy Friday evening. Manager even provided us with a complimentary dessert. Wonderful evening will definitely go back.
The food was ok -not great - clearly not worth the price.
Seneca was an excellent server and the manager was also great to give us a military discount on memorial day.
A favorite. Food is always delicious. Judd the manager was very helpful with wine selections.
Lovely place for lunch or dinner. American version of a french brasserie. Good steak frites and a daily special, Sunday's is beef wellington.
Food was excellent. Recommend you give this restaurant a try - you won’t be disappointed...
Nice place, great oyster presentation. Steaks are good! No complaints.
This has always been one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The serving staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious and the Gabitini is a new favorite for me! You can't go wrong with the steak frites - my favorite sauce is the poivre. I almost always have the chicken liver mousse pate or the french onion soup - both winners. Always a beautiful time and a great value for the quality of the food.
A must eat place in Reston Town Center. Two thumbs up!
We had a great dinner with exceptional service Tuesday night. The trout was well prepared and delicious. My husband loved the pate and French onion soup.
Just a so-so place.
Ordered steak with bernaise sauce. Sauce I received tasted only of butter, no lemon, no tarragon etc. My wife also tasted the sauce and agreed that the only taste was of pure butter. Manager insisted it was bernaise sauce that I received, but he agreed to take it back and add some tarragon. He did add the tarragon, and the lemon juice. He did made it right in the end by comping the dessert, which was very thoughtful even though I hadn't asked and didn't expect it.
Place was very, very noisy. Couldn't carry on any conversation.
Would not recommend.
My husband and I have been to Mon Ami Gabi many times for dinner, usually on a week night. We thought it would be a great place for Mother's Day dinner with my parents. While the food was very good, the staff seemed to be a bit overwhelmed (I am sure it was a long day since they had a Mother's Day brunch too). We were also seated in the overflow space next to the bar, which was drab. I definitely didn't like where we were seated. Also, the table wasn't set for six people when we were seated. It was set for 5 and we had to wait for a seat and shift the plates and silverware around.
Disappointing this time. When arrived for a 3:55 seating on Mother's Day (with reservation) , we were told we could sit down if we wanted but we were not going to be able to order until 4:00. We weren't in any way urging them to immediately take an order. Then the waiter, as he was leading us to a seat, said, very abruptly, "Have you been here before?" We said we had on Easter recently. It seemed as though the area we were seated was not well prepared and there was no attention to the occasion. We probably will return again in a few weeks but will be careful to sit with table cloth, appointments on the table and the waiter seeming to be more welcoming. In all, there seemed to be irritation in the hostess desk and the waiter... Hard to know what set them off but it was disappointing for us.
We were there for Mother’s Day, seated immediately ( thank you!) Our server must have been new, (maybe) he seemed very flustered, we were charged for a glass of wine we never got - it was taken off the bill. I’ve been to Mon Ami Gabi for dinner & had great service...really bad service this trip & the food was so-so.
Mother’s Day luncheon
Jo Jo was great!
While the food was pretty good the waiter was inexperienced and/or clueless. Took too long to come to the table after we sat down, did not give the specials of the day, when the food came out, the appetizer dishes were still on the table. Had to hand the person bringing the entrees the appetizer plates. Poured a half glass of wine. The so called bus boy didn’t clean the table and brought whole weat bread instead of white true French bread. Won’t be back. The couple next to us noticed the poor service as well.
Great food but really great service. Our waiter was attentive and we didn’t have a problem asking others for more bread or water. We be been a few places for mother’s day and this is the one place where everyone enjoyed their meal.
So I made a reservation a week or two before so you could get a table outside. I arrived and was told that it was inside or an hour wait. Badly done. This was my Mother’s Day dinner - two days before the holiday - and I got a shrug and attitude from the hostess. So disappointing. The dining room was loud butter food was excellent.
Great experience. We sat outside with our puppy. Our waiter gave him water and a biscuit, and took my kids’ orders first. Wonderful service and good food on a lovely summery evening.
Celebrated our 4 year anniversary, place we had our first date.
Not impressed by food. Have been a customer of the chain for years and this was definitely not good enough to come back to this location.
The fish I ordered was perfectly cooked, and the glaze gave it some extra special flavor. Our server was very attentive and made sure our water glasses were full and checked back quickly to be certain we were pleased with our food selections. Thank you!
Sever very attentive!
Outstanding place for Sunday dinner . Hanger steak plus half price wine.
Usual excellent service both at the bar and table. Our server made very solid suggestions to our party of 6. He was kind enough to point out the 1/2 price wine bottle offers on Sunday. The Bordeaux he recommended was so good we ended up with multiple bottles.
As it was an 80th birthday celebration, he even brought an order of your amazing profiteroles to finish off the day.
Only negative and I almost hate to mention it bu the cold seafood platter is a favorite, was a real disappointment. Server told us in advance that the lobster was now served as a lobster “salad”. For a fresh seafood platter, missing the whole lobster was sad.
Finishing on a high note, we are usually at your restaurant as a party of 2, our large party was handled smoothly with all the attention we have grown to love.
Continue the excellent work
My daughter (6 years old) has been craving steak frites since we got back from Paris in August. Mon Ami Gabi did not disappoint. The steak frites here were very close to what we had in France, as was the crème brulee. We will definitely be back.
Overall it was a really fun place for a date. The food was spectacular (particularly the bone in filet with truffle béarnaise) and the ambiance was casual and inviting. I was a little surprised by the small portions, but it provided the opportunity to enjoy an appetizer, entree and dessert - and dessert is a must here! The server seemed very knowledgeable about the wine selection and her recommendations were spot on. It’s a little pricey for me to be a frequent guest but I will be back.
