Mornington Peninsula Restaurants

Our overall experience was close to outstanding but one problem with the service spoilt our initial experience. We think something went wrong in allocating tables between the wait staff and 45 minutes after arriving we still did not have a menu, only some bread and wine. Once they realised the error they apologised and after that everything was indeed outstanding, both food and service. All the food was exceptional: fresh, interesting, yet not too "out there" or "try hard" as is the case in some other top restaurants. And a very good variety of flavours and textures. The wine list was extremely extensive. A stand out for me was one of the best dessert wines I've experienced. And the overall setting is also exceptional, looking out across the sculpture park to Westernport Bay. Highly recommended. More

All was very good except that the music was too loud for a Sunday lunch. The musicians need to either have more speakers spread around the venue so that the volume near them can be lowered, or just operate on a lower volume. We found conversation across our table a bit difficult More
