Meghna St John's Wood calificaciones y reseñas
Nice restaurant, quite modern in style. The food was very nice and staff very friendly. Price for 2 people for main course, couple of side dishes and a few drinks came to £60 which is average for indian restaurants. We would definitely go back there.
This is our old standby Northwest London Indian. We often try different places but in the end nothing beats Meghna. Service can be a bit slow but the food is very good and not expensive. The tandoori mixed grill is a good value, the kebabs are tasty, and we're fans of the garlic balti dishes. It can be spicy as you want it to be.
We tried this neighbourhood restaurant in a quiet part of town in part because of the good reviews. We found the food to be decent but not the best in our opinion in this area. Service was also very slow but the staff apologised and explained it was due to staff illness. We ordered a la carte at dinner time but we notice that there are good value lunch menus available which might be worth trying.
Met with 7 girlfriends for an informal supper on 4 January. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The restaurant is light, well decorated and spotlessly clean. The menu is extensive and well priced. We shared several dishes ranging from sizzling beef to tandoori chicken and grilled butterfly prawns with lots of vegetables and condiments. The house white wine was excellent and the whole meal was under £20 each. Service isn't included so we made sure to leave a decent tip that reflected our satisfaction.
I went there on my birthday - food was great, as was service, although the atmosphere was a little lacking on account of us being the only diners! To be fair, it was a Sunday afternoon, right after new year so I can't think of a worse time, but I do get the impression it might be a bit quiet there as it's tucked out of the way. Really good curry though - beware, the spice levels are really what they say (i.e. hot will be hot!)
Meghna is consistently good, maintaining a high level of quality and service. Not sure how we managed to spend £70 on a few poppadoms, 3 average priced main courses and 3 pints of draught lager, ( a bit rich for a neighbourhood restaurant.) Having said that, the food is fresh and well prepared and the service courteous and attentive. They offer a wide choice of vegetarian dishes and are very helpful with advice when ordering, taking time to explain items on the menu. We shall have to persuade Meghna to open a branch in Willesden Green or Kensal Rise. then it will be OUR neighbourhood restaurant. In the meantime, it is worth the journey.
An excellent local Indian restaurant serving a wide variety of dishes, many of which do not appear on the usual run-of-the-mill Indian menu. Our vegetarian daughter was especially well catered for and gave full marks to her paneer tikka masala.
The sag aloo was the only disappointment of the evening, being made with what appeared to be frozen chopped spinach.
The service is friendly and professional and I would recommend Meghna to anyone wanting an Indian restaurant that goes up a gear and offers that bit more than others in this category.
Enjoyed a really nice meal here on a Saturday night with a friend. The service was efficient and all staff were really warm and friendly. The restaurant was clean and fresh with a nice atmosphere. I will definitely be returning in the future and having take away too.
Usually get takeaway from here but had chance to go in person (babysitter!) and lovely meal - good service and food delicious - although I would not have the chicken dupiaza again as sauce a bit thick and not as tasty as the takeaway strangely. Recommend.
Meghna continues to provide outstanding Indian cuisine. Not the modern chic stuff, but the good old British- Indian variety. Everything is well prepared with fresh spices and the usual large choice. Good food good service good price - a winning formula.
Had noticed the restaurant on the way to dinner the day before, stopped to read the menu, and remembered the restaurant when I went online to make a resv for Saturday dinner. Interior of restaurant, furniture, and ambiance were contemporary and relaxed. Restaurant was busy at 8pm on a Saturday night, but I was greeted and seated promptly. Took a a bit too long after being seated for waiter to take my order. Lasted almost 30 minutes after placing order for appetizer to be served. Food was well prepared and presented nicely. Spicy onion appetizers were delicious. Chicken Tikka and spinach/potato veggie side dish were served at table hot. Flavors were complex and delicious. Presentation was very appealing. I would return if in the area again.
Meghna, St John's Wood: we love eating at Meghna, it's our family's favorite local Indian. The food is consistently good, the staff are as nice as they come. You can't go wrong, here. We have never had anything we didn't like! The only criticism is that the portions seem to be a bit on the small side. But that wouldn't stop us from going back.
Friendly staff, seemed willing to accommodate my friend's dietary requirements (about which they were a little indiscreet, however), and service was OK.
The food was very good, much more delicate than your average neighbourhood tandoori or balti.
