Food was good, but prices were much more than what was listed on Google. i.e. Masters Bloody Mary was listed on Google for $8.00 but we were charged $11.00. When we asked our server she explained that Managemet knew, but online content had not been updated for a long time. We did notice that Google noted that Masters had updated their hours two weeks ago. I guess updating their hours is viewed by the Management at Masters to be more important than updating their prices. We won't be back.
Friendly staff, good food, indoor and outdoor dining options, televisions with multiple games on. Great experience.
Food and Drinks were great, I would have liked a little more variety on the bourbon menu but over all very good. Friendly Servers and a very nice view. very comfortable feeling over all.
Had a reservation and were seated fine. Noise level extremely loud. Menu was very limited and we were told that any food order would take at least 35 minutes to prepare even appetizers. Waiter advised us to go somewhere else. Will not go back
The good: My husband liked his burger, his drink and I liked my drink. Very cool vibe, new place. Clean. Nice, helpful staff.
The bad: I did not like my Mac n cheese (w/chicken). The quality of chicken was not what I am used to getting for those prices. It was Applebee’s quality chicken. Sorry guys, you got a lot right, but you have to serve top quality meat for those prices.
I may give it another try but definitely just okay- and short staffed -
Everything I've ever tried on the menu was really delicious and perfectly prepared. The service is excellent and it's my favorite place in Oceanside to eat. A little noisy sometime depending on the music but a great place for any occasion.
We went to Masters specifically because it was on the Passport Dining card. We ordered more food than we normally would have. Then was told when we paid the bill that they no longer take PP. then they accidentally threw our leftovers away when we got up to go to the bathroom. Ahi was delish. Brussels were way to sweet in my opinion. Tomato soup I loved but my friend thought was too thick and not hot enough.
Our waiter was extremely kind and entertaining though. We didn’t want him to feel bad so we didn’t make a big deal out of it. But we were very disappointed about the passport deal going away.
Other than that, yum and cool vibe. Live music. Cheers!
This restaurant occupies a former manufacturing building and has exposed the bowstring trusses and brick walls for a great, loft-like ambiance. The food and cocktails are very good. I would recommend this without hesitation.
The bar service was so incredibly slow. We ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer to start the night. Our appetizer came out before the drinks. Ordered another round and a glass of wine with our entrees. Our entrees were out before drinks again. The creme brûlée didn’t have that crunch on top.
We go to this place periodically for happy hour...we do love the happy hour menu, the ambiance is good, and the service is decent. We still spend about $120 or so each visit.
I came for the savory menu and it delivered. Enjoyed cocktails and apps in a very nice setting with wonderful attentive service. We will be back! Thank you!
Food was excellent, Amanda our server was wonderful.
One of our orders had to be remade due to a food allergy that the kitchen missed the request to leave off the food order.
I definitely would return to try more dishes. The hamburger, fries, soup and chili cornbread were amazing. The fish (cod) taco entree was not a star. They have televisions if you are interested in watching a sporting event, but the sound wasn't too loud. The restaurant was cold (January) because of the open patio, so bring a jacket.
Great ambiance, food great ... went there with the girls to listen to the band ... very nice but could not hear very well... Cee was amazing... had to re ask fir water s napkins but other then that great evening
We like going to masters. Nicely decorated, good food and good service. Also a nice selection of beers and drinks. Parking is not good however, just a few spaces in the alley, otherwise good luck finding one on the street.
Food good, Praeger Bros pizza bread was good. Skirt steak tasty but tough. Brussels sprouts were good. For some reason the place smelled heavily of chlorine (like a pool).
Our musician friend "Ashun" invited us to Masters Kitchen and Cocktail to hear him perform. What a great presence the restaurant has when walking in to greet the hostess. The restaurant has large roll up doors/windows making it an open air ambiance. There are wood beam ceilings throughout the restaurant making it very relaxing. The hostess seated us promptly and was delightful. Our server was very friendly with prompt service as well. We choose the Ahi poke to start and it was delicious, then proceeded to the Mussels in a generous amount of Spicy tomato and fennel broth. Bruschetta was also with our mussel order allowing us to sop up the delicious broth. Both dishes were extremely flavorful. We followed our appetizers with Cream Brulee dessert suggested by our server. OMG it was so light and delicious. We was introduced to the Entertainment Publicist "Nellie" who secures the nightly entertainment for Masters Kitchen and Cocktail. In a section of the restaurant she set up an art gallery venue featuring local artists. She was gracious enough to invite us to view the Art Gallery before our food arrived. What a lovely addition to Masters Kitchen and Cocktail. Ashun was excellent as always. We will be returning soon. Thank you Sharon & Kevin
Absolutely great food and service . It was new year's Eve and we had an 8;30pm reservation and were seated and greeted right away . The food was spectacular. Taste and presentation . My fiance and I had such a great time. Thank you.
Great atmosphere, service, and food!
Too loud with the screaming kids. Otherwise food was good and service was fast. Steak was supposed to be medium rare came out well done and fried chicken was burnt
Lots of families with little babies...a bit noisy, but in a joyful way
Beautiful place with great food, great service and delicious drinks. We cannot wait to go back!
So good! The chef now is amazing
Good place in Oceanside for a lunch or dinner. Quieter than most.
The decor is eclectic, especially given that it is in a remodeled auto body shop. It's very comfortable, with plants providing privacy in the booth we occupied. There is a good variety on the menu and wine and beer list. Service was prompt and friendly.
Food good but not great. Nice playing but flavor a bit lacking. Scheduled musician did not show up.Server very pleasant.
We've enoyed Masters since it opened. We have noticed a decline in the quality of food since Andre's departure. The watermelon salad was very disappointing. It used to be our absolute favorite item and it is just not what it used to be. The add-on steak was overcooked and unmemorable. Not sure what the steak was purported to be but it was as tender and flavorful as a cut of round or chuck - pretty disappointing. The cheese steak egg rolls were served on top of spicy ketchup. I figured the ketchup would be served on the side, but they were rolling around in ketchup, which made them soggy. It would be nice if a manager floated arround and asked how everything was. We come here less and less and miss how awesome it used to be.
Great all around experience. Service, food and ambiance were everything we expected and more. Will definitely return.
Went her for brunch on a Sunday! The chicken and waffles are amazing!! Great place to watch sports too.
Masters hits it on all cylinders (yes it’s pun, visit the restaurant to find out why). Love Masters for those times you want great food, don’t want to break the bank, and you really don’t want to dress up too much. Excellent food and drinks.
6th anniversary. Food took a while, the kitchen was backed up but waitress was nice.
This is a great place for Happy Hour and/or a full meal. My only complaint is the noise from the music that makes it tough to hold a conversation on the other side at a dining table. I like that the music is kept in the bar area but wish the volume could be lower in the dining area.
Masters has been absolutely great every time we have visited. Love the cheeseboard. Love the fish specials. Homemade chips are awesome!
Fun food! We eat vegetarian meals and the variety was good!
I always love going to Masters! The food is excellent and the servers are always friendly and very helpful. I brought my mother (who is from Maryland) for an early dinner and she loved it as much as I did! The drinks are great too!!
Food came out fast, server was really cool, and the food was great. Cool spot too!
Great food. Impeccable service. Yummy cocktails. I was pleasantly surprised and excited that this place lived up to the positive reviews we had read about. Highly recommend it and can't wait to go back.
