Manzo Ristorante - Eataly NYC Flatiron
11:00 am for Bar service
11:30 AM till 10:30 PM for Dining Service
Best steak in Ny. The pasta was delicious.
Overall, food was ok. Everyone said the main dishes were salty. I had pasta with braised beef, others had pasta with mushrooms. We had the meatballs appetizers which were salty and fresh burrata. I expected better food based on reputation of Eataly.
Food was good but very small portion of pasta. The tables next to us got seated after us and got service before us. We were never given bread had to ask more than once. Pasta was great but I left hungry. Disappointed with the size and price. Will stick to the apps at the piazza
My husband and I went for my birthday, and it was delicious! We had the meatball appetizer, wagu steak, and a pasta. While yes it is loud the atmosphere was still enjoyable, the service wonderful, and food delicious!
Food was amazing! I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu and to try my faves again
So basically I have an 11:30 reservation for lunch and stand there like a moron while the kitchen staff behind the bar looks on, several members of the wait staff sit around attending to other nonsense and broke tourists who have no business being there slip by me and take selfies by the meat case. At 11:35 the hostess finally showed up walked right by me, does not say hello, takes her putting away her things before finally seating me. I know it’s only 5 minutes, but I am a business man and so was the client I was meeting, I have no time to wait for people who can’t maintain schedules.
Beyond that, the place was empty and the service was still painfully slow. I ordered the monk fish and it was about 3 ounces of fish that was so over cooked that it had the texture spandex and flavor asphalt.
The atmosphere was mix 80% suburban window shoppers taking selfies for social media and 20% actual customers all of which creates such a racket it’s hard to have and actual conversation.
I have eaten here for years basically because it is close to a good client, but it has gotten so bad, that I just can’t do it anymore.
We somehow managed to get a last minute Saturday night reservation and were not disappointed! They had specialty dishes for Truffle Season that were fantastic. The only small comment I can make is that they were out of the bottle of wine I had ordered, but they were fantastic in finding something else that I would like. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes!
The pasta dishes were phenomenal. Get truffles shaved over pasta for a shared appetizer for the table. It will have your eyes rolling back in your head with pleasure!
We made a reservation for 4 - we were in the city for my son’s 6th birthday. Our table wasn’t ready upon our arrival but they offered to switch some tables around so we could be seated sooner, thanks to the nice hostess. Our waitress was knowledgeable and very nice. She discreetly asked whose birthday it was. Our food was spectacular. And my son was thrilled to have a candle in his ice cream. Hope to return for a date night soon. :-)
We had a great lunch experience. All four of us ordered different meals and we were all very satisfied. Service was very good.
Dec 5, just visiting the city for the holidays. Someone recommended the market and we found Manzo. Will recommend going forward.
Love this place. Food was great. Service was excellent. Waitress was very good with suggestions. Got to try truffle butter in one of my dishes and it was delicious. Was a real treat to walk around Eately. They have anything you could want from Italy. This was one of my favorite places to go in New York.
We have had the pleasure of dining at Manzo on a number of occasions, and have always found it excellent; this occasion was no exception. My partner and I enjoyed the vitello tonnato appetizer, followed by our favorite pappardelle (yum). This was accompanied by a glass of a delicious 2016 Tiefenbrunner Lagrein ; Lagrein is, without a doubt, one of my favorite varietals. Dessert was a scrumptious Torta alla Nocciola, accompanied by a decaf latte that was not bitter, but flavorful. A terrific meal, one which our friends enjoyed, as well ...
Good wine list, extensive negroni menu, creative menu and excellent service.
I have walked by Eataly many times, but I have never gone in. After looking for a place to take my friend for her Birthday, I decided to try Manzo, inside Eataly. We were blown away! The food and service are fantastic here! This place is everything!!!
Meatballs and mozzeralla were delicious. Service was prompt and polite without being intrusive. Steaks were delicious!
I was by myself and the service was really attentive ! The was was good and for sure I’m coming back !! Thank you
Manzo used to be a cut above the food fare in Eataly. What a huge disappointment. No more tablecloths, food was mediocre and cold. Didn’t enjoy it and will not be back. And it was so so noisy. We foolishly made reservations thinking it was special as usual. . There were many empty tables.
The food is great and the value is awesome. Authentic food and great taste. We had an antipasto, pasta and main course. All 3 spot on. Wine is a great value. A large and overwhelming wine list but with even a little knowledge you can pick a descent wine for a descent NYC price. Mark up is only 200% compared to many other restaurants being 300-400%. In a very touristy spot but while dining, you’d never know your in a market. Will definitely come back as a foodie and a value seeker.
My brother and sister in-law were visiting from NC. He owns a restaurant so it’s always intimidating suggesting a restaurant but I figured Eataly has always been a great meal and a different experience than any other. I’ve been there 3-4 times but never tried Manzo. Service was great, we were given a great table behind the glass barrier but the food (especially the pasta) was embarrassingly over-salted. Very disappointed...Will I be back to Eataly? Definitely. Manzo? Probably not.
Amazing food and wines
It was my nieces birthday. We had a great time. The food was outstanding. We were not rushed. The service was great.
Food was great, our entrees got lost for about 55 minutes, never happened anywhere before. Not sure why, we were in and ordered while restaurant was 20% full? Waitress acknowledged at about 30 minutes, sent manager over at 40 minutes, he comped us a salad and mozzarella to make amends. Small skirt steaks on grill...5 minutes maybe? Weren't in a hurry but still backed up our day. Other disappointment was fresh white truffles, not very fragrant or flavorful.
We really enjoyed the Eataly experience and our food was delicious. However, we went to Manzo during their truffle popup, because truffles are one of mine and my husband's favorite flavors. We specifically chose things on the menu that were labeled to be the truffle selections. While the food was great, none of the options tasted like truffles, so that was pretty disappointing.
We understood when we booked the reservation that we would have bar seating. We were escorted to the 2 worst seats by the kitchen that were table height. They were right at the edge of the restaurant and kitchen. Crappy bait and switch on seating which soured an otherwise great experience.
Excellent service and food. Kyle the gm could not be more gracious and attentive.
Purchased a white truffle to shave over some of our courses and brought home half of it for tomorrow.
Did a bit of a shop in the store post lunch.
Thanks to the staff !
Coming 20 mnts late from my reservation but luckily can get table. Service very slow because servers overwhelm buy total number of customers. But my server very attentive and keep apologize to make us wait to order. Very loud dine in place, i have to shout to talk with my party. Ordered out from restaurant week, aging beef appetizers it pratically melt in ur mouth. Burrata is young cheese, light and nice. Steak from restaurant week is way too salty but when i sent it back ( i hate sending food) they right away fix the problem and send me new steak. Ordered 2 wine that $25/each. And did order cheese dessert that’s not in restaurant week menu.
Terrific food, but the seating on the sides (bench and chair) can feel a bit cramped. Get the hanger steak!
Very simple yet so tasty and delicious
Our appetizers and entrees were absolutely delicious and our cocktails were perfect! Along with the cozy ambience and attentive server, it resulted in a very special birthday lunch. Thanks Manzo! We can't wait to return.
The foods are good as well as the service! Definitely will come back!
I was disappointed in the seating. I made a reservation, am a disabled vet on Veterans day and was treated with no regard and seated in the tight round corner booth. Difficult to get in and out with two canes but the young lady who tried to seat us at the counter first didn't seem to recognize the need for easy access. The food was great but the whole seating debacle put a damper on the dinner.
The food was delicious (the gnocchi is fab!), and the prixe fixe menu options were great. However, the service was significantly subpar. We were given one bottle of water for our table during a 1.5 hour visit, the manager took our order because our server never came by (the table next to us had the same issue), our plates weren’t cleared for a VERY long time, and we were only offered dessert after being given our check (so we just opted to grab gelato on the way out at the market). Altogether, not great service; my guest and I felt slighted for the experience since other Eataly restaurants have been so hospitable.
Four of us took advantage of a specially priced dinner food week special; $28.00 for two courses and $25.00 for a bottle of wine. The hangar steak was very good, ditto the wine. Service is attentive. Eataly, if you haven't been, looks like an airport hangar it's so big. On a weekend it is a mob scene so be prepared. To eat at any of the three sit down restaurants you are well served to have a reservation. Eataly is not just eating, it's a "happening". In addition to the restaurants there dozens and dozens of kiosks selling sweets, pasta, olive oil etc...; bring your wallet.
Overall this place was solid. The main issue I had was the amount of food one gets for the price. It's *just* shy of what I would expect for what I'm paying. But, watching the cooks make the food, and the quality of the food is excellent. Staff was friendly and conversational...it's loud but I could still hear my SO. So...overall, I'd say give it a whirl. Probably worth an hour or two wait, but not much more than that.
We are at Manzo during Restaurant Fest. The food was outstanding. We all had the hangar steak which was delicious and a very generous portion for the price. Also had a great wine that was part of the $25 a bottle list. Will definitely go back.
Atmosphere and dinner was great. Service was the only issue. We were told our Prosecco just arrived and wasn’t chilled properly so we passed on it. The server took our order and never saw her again (literally). A different server dropped off the check and the busser did most of the work. This was around 5:30 PM on a Saturday so it seems like an awkward time for a shift change if that was the issue. Thankfully the food came out perfect and tasted great. If she came back over we would’ve ordered a bottle of wine but I am guessing the other table of 4 she was attending to made more sense since they ordered a bottle.
Great steak, great wine- my family fully enjoyed our visit!
The food here is always exceptional. One of the best Bloody Mary's we've ever had. You need a reservation or you will wait an hour. Very pricy --- only thing we wish was different. Lunch for 4 over $400, including 2 cocktails for 3 out of 4.
Good value for the restaurant week promo. We enjoyed the food/cocktails but the service was really slow
