excellent food for the area. french bistro with solid beer selection and descent service. went for a business happy hour and dinner and ll parties were satisfied. we had a vegetarian in the group who was critical of the limited vegetarian selection, but happy with the quality of his meal. steak and mussels were great.
Went for my friend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised to see they brought her cake and a mimosa just because I checked that box here on OpenTable. It was very sweet.
Wonderful food and service! Out dinner there made for a special anniversary outting.
The food/drinks and customer service was great. The only issue was the tables were not prepared for a group to be sat together. Reservation was for a birthday dinner party. The restaurant did not offer the dessert after dinner was served. Went somewhere else for the dessert and candle.
Service hiccups: I ordered a vodka martini up with olives, no vermouth and received a martini with extra vermouth. I asked for a replacement, and the waiter seemed annoyed. I think he thought I had not said "no vermouth," but I know I did because I have been ordering this drink regularly for many years, and the 3 people at the table heard my order. My replacement drink was watery.
Entire group of six for lunch were quite impressed with the food. We will definitely be back!
Camilo is a fabulous server and a great asset to the restaurant. Bravo!
Fantastic all around!
A neighborhood gem....excellent food, great service and charming atmosphere. A definitely recommend visting this great little place.
We enjoyed our meal on a Friday evening.
Amazing food and drinks. The service is also great.
We went during the Oktoberfest celebration, so it was quite loud. However, our meals were delicious and very generous. My husband had the pork shank special which he absolutely loved and I had pork schnitzel which was also delicious, my only "complaint" is that the serving was much too large. Lyon Hall may want to think about offering half and whole portions...Overall, it was a great dining experience and I would recommend to anyone who likes German/French country type food.
Oktoberfest tonight. Pork shank and pork schnitzel Well prepared and served. Portions we good sized as in not overwhelming.
We really had a delightful evening. The service and food was outstanding. One burger was overdone but they took care of it quickly and followed up to make sure it was correct. Highly recommend the SJF cocktail and the Saffron and Shrimp Mussels.
My former colleague and I enjoyed a lovely brunch here today. He had the lobster and scrambled eggs with the yogurt parfait. I had the quiche and began with a salad with salmon. Little did I know there’s a salad accompanying the quiche! I’m stuffed but in the best way. We both vow to return and check out the rest of the menu!
My go-to place for tuna tartare and steak frites! Always fabulous. Good wine, good service, wonderful food.
Always a pleasure dining at Lyon Hall for a quiet lunch. The oyster special on Mondays is great!
Such an amazing place for brunch!
Always love Lyon Hall! No better mussels in the area. Welcoming and smart team - always great at pairing beverages with food.
Food was very good but service was a bit slow and didn’t seem to be for any reason. Waiter seemed to flit by a lot
Great choices. Waiter didn't understand that one of us wanted an appetizer of a dish as listed and 2 of us wanted the entree version so he brought us 3 entree versions so too much food and it was thrown out.
Excellent service and great meals. Thank you!
Excellent food, great staff and good vibes.
Entrees not as good as in we have experienced here in the past, including steaks which is why we go there. Do not recommend their cauliflower schnitzel. Neither dessert ordered was great.
For some reason service was slow during this visit. The waiter said it was due to restaurant week and the large number of fixed price menu orders that included appetizer, entree and desert. We were there an hour by the time we received the entrees. I have been to Lyon Hall several other times and the service was fine.
We enjoy the upstairs dining room and had requested it when we reserved. When we arrived the host was polite but he REALLY didn't want us upstairs. First, he said there was a large party and most of the tables had been moved together. And, the remaining were 4 tops and we were a 2. We were equally polite but convinced him that we did not want to eat downstairs. The food and the service were very good, but the host had lied to us: there was no large party, there were 2 tops (although we were given a 4 top) and there were empty tables even when we left. Since we did get to eat upstairs it won't sour us on the restaurant but I have never liked being lied to, regardless of how polite you are. For the record, we are in our late 60s, were dressed well, and have an excellent record in Open Table of honoring our reservations, etc. The downstairs is not a relaxing experience for us with the tables so close together and the noise level so high. Oh well, after the host has aged 40 years he'll understand!
Hadn't been to Lyon Hall in quite a while. However, our meal on Friday was just as good as I remembered. The food was tasty, the wine was just the right temperature, the service was just right, and we enjoyed our time there.
I decided spur of the moment to treat myself. It was fairly good, excellent service. I could appreciate how well made the dishes were and I suspect most Americans will like how rich their food was, but for me it was too rich and dense. I’d actually have given five stars overall but this restaurant does the “ac on and doors open” thing and let me be 100% honest, in a world where the amazon and arctic are on fire, the “ac on and doors open” thing is an act of climate arson. I do not take kindly to it. Shut your doors and cool your customers with less power.
It’s restaurant week, so understandably busy and service was slow and inefficient. But the server was friendly!
Every time we dine at Lyon Hall, we remind ourselves to dine there more often. This time, we enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu - which is a terrific value. Lyon Hall gets it right when it comes to the Restaurant Week "concept" - making every appetizer, every entree and every dessert available for the three-course meal. We will be back ... more often!
I had not been to Lyon Hall in several years. I chose it for dinner this week due to it's location and menu. I had seen online that they were participating in Restaurant Week featuring their entire menu. However our waiter never made a mention of that, which I found quite odd, and I totally forgot to ask about it. Not sure if it was intentional on his part or not. But the management should take note.
We each had the lobster roll which we enjoyed and a glass of Rose. It was quite loud as we were seated next to a rather large and extremely loud party. My friend who's visiting from Switzerland asked why people talk so loud here in the States . . . good question!
Excellent service, very good food and very good accommodation for toddler in party. Waiter was excellent!
Delicious and creative dishes. Always fun with great service!
Love Lyon Hall - great food and lovely service. Went for restaurant week and was delighted to find a new grilled prawn salad on the starters - it was delish. As well as their always delish trout and the chocolate mousse with raspberry sorbet and crushed chocolate crumb was yum.
A very pleasant and enjoyable place with excellent food and attentive, warm service. Saturday is crowded and reservations appear to be a "must" but everyone was quickly accommodated and the vibe and energy were wonderful; the food is delicious and for a neighborhood place it stands out as a winner.
We had a reservation for 8pm. They asked us to wait 5 minutes for a table inside. After 5 minutes they told us the wait for inside seating is more than 20 minutes, and if we wanted to eat we had to sit outside.
Service was slow, the lighting was poor plus the street noise and the seating was uncomfortable.
I don’t think I will give my business to Lyon Hall anymore
A delicious experience during restaurant week. Will go back.
The food was great and our server was very helpful! Lyon Hall is somewhere we go often and will definitely be returning!
We visited Lyon Hall for restaurant week in August. Rating for the noise level was actually for outside. We had reservations but inside was quite noisy and felt that at an outside we would be able to have a regular conversation. Kudos to Lyon Hall for offering their entire menu as an option for restaurant week! Up-prices for some of the more expensive entrées, but it was totally worth it! Food was delicious as always! Service fantastic. Our server made excellent beverage recommendations. Thank you!
