Amazing, as always. The Fried Green Tomatoes are divine!
The rib-eye was as delicious and as tender as I have ever had. We ate dinner outside. While I appreciate the space limitations of the restaurant with its outdoor dining space, the moving of garbage from the kitchen to the dumpster while we were dining detracted from an otherwise wonderful experience.
Duck breast needs to be cooked hot enough on the outside to render the fat. Expected more for price.
Lightfoot is always a good value. Our server (Jon) was outstanding, helpful and friendly. What I most appreciate about your restaurant (and which is increasingly difficult to find) is the low noise level. It is perfect for a two or four-person gathering.
Great spot for our 61st Wedding Anniversary celebration. Both the Halibut and the Lamb T-Bones were done to perfection. The peach-blackberry Crisp provided a perfect ending.
My wife and I had our wedding reception here in 2001. We have been there many times since for dinner and even to celebrate our wedding day. The menu is always amazing and varies to keep creative new ideas flowing. Went for dinner June 8 for dinner and we split both the lobster bisque and the halibut for a entree. Amazing on both fronts! The waiter was great and very attentive despite the several tables he had. The kitchen was a bit slow with the entree but we were not in a hurry anyway so that was no issue. In a great restaurant like this you really don't want to be in a hurry anyway. My opinion.
Lightfoot is likely the best restaurant not only in Leesburg, but all of Loudoun County. 5 Star!
My husband and I have dined at Lightfoot for nearly a decade, now. The staff, service, ambiance, and food are unsurpassed. My friend and I had a lovely luncheon, and were pleased with every aspect of the experience.
See you again, soon!
Best meal ever at Lightfoot.
Our son and daughter in law just moved to Leesburg and have been wanting to take us there. It was so delicious and our waiter Francisco was the best. We will definitely be back.
Great place we have been eating here for decades . Love the food.
We had a great experience. The specials of the day were great, short ribs and the lobster bisque. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Food came out reasonably quickly. bev and bread service was very quick. We will come here again.
Waiter was efficient but not friendly at all. Makes a big difference to the evening,
Great food in an elegant historical venue. The service was great and the food was delicious.
The food was quite good and perfectly prepared (this time we had lump crab and filet beef with asparagus and mashed potatoe); however, the menu remains somewhat limited and would suggest that it be expanded by a few more dishes, particularly with more local Virginia cuisine. As a courtesy, the dinner specials should be printed. The service was good, but very laid back and casually attentive. The e-mailed coupon for anniversary desserts specifically says per entree, but was actually only for one. Last time we were there the premium martinis were $16 in the upper bar, but this time just $11.50 for same ‘call’ in the lower section, but perfectly made. Not getting points from Open Table was odd and may cause us to rethink this particular booking service. All-in-all a very nice dinner, but with some missed opportunities to make it the best in the area.
Impeccable service, and delicious food, friendly staff. Can’t get much better than this.
We go to the Lightfoot for special occasions, the most recent being our 34th anniversary. The food was excellent, as usual, and our server was friendly and helpful. The restaurant (built in a former bank where I saved my money as a child) has a wonderful ambiance with French posters on many of the walls. The ham biscuit appetiser is spectacular and the blue ridge spinach salad is a winner. We’ll be back!
Good good and service. Fun evening with friends. Beautiful interior. Make a reservation.
Food was very good especially the Halibut. My dinner companion had the filet that was average. Service was painfully slow. Disappointed overall.
It was a last minute decision and we hadn't been there in a few years. So glad things are still the same. The food was great from appetizer's, soup, entrée and dessert (all chef specials) and the service was top notch. We will make sure it's not years before the next visit.
My friend was entranced by the decor and both of us enjoyed the smiles and greetings of every staff member who went past. Our waitress was delightful and the food superb as always!
It was great. The rain kept most people away so it was very quiet but comfy!
Have always enjoyed this restaurant, but ordered the mussels and frites lunch special and was very unhappy . Never have I seen such large mussels. Much more familiar with the smaller sweeter variety. Almost inedible, and I left several after trying to eat a few. Maybe just a menu variation but I will never order this dish here again. Sorry I didn't order some of my other favorites.
Excellent service and food. Never tried duck which was recommended by server. Great choice. Will be back
Great food and great service. It had been years since we last visited; we will be more regular customers.
Wonderful Mother's Day dinner. Lightfoot is a newly found favorite restaurant in the area.
Great food... service good but time between courses too long.
Mother’s Day brunch was fantastic!!!!
Amazing meal, excellent atmosphere, great service..........................The crab cakes were to die for
It was my prom night and the experience went well except for the end after we just finished signing our receipts and stood up to leave. The waitress got upset at us for taking the customer copy and refused to let us go until she personally checked all of our receipts. In the end, she was mistaken and we were “free” to go.
I was very insulted because her actions implied that she didn’t trust us to pay. It already hurts enough getting discriminated against for being a teenager, so this attitude towards us made my group feel disrespected and belittled. On prom night.
We had a party of 5 with a reservation (I made about a month ago) everything was absolutely wonderful except they put us in the back under the covered bar area... so VERY VERY loud.. and we didn't have linens like the rest of the restaurant. I will be back but I won't sit in the back EVER again... i think my ears are still ringing.
We were looking for a place to meet our out-of-town son for lunch, meeting somewhere between DC and Pennsylvania. What a find! Housed in a wonderfully preserved bank, the place is inspired and spotless. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful (for example, when my wife asked for directions a staff member, not even tending our table, offered to take her there). Our own waiter was friendly and chatty in a warm way. The food was imaginative and delicious. We have other relatives and friends in the DC area and we plan to meet them there soon. Of note, they are also dog friendly in their outside seating section.
A friend recommended Lightfoot, so my wife and I checked it out. We had a reservation and when we walked in the 2 girls at the hostess stand just stared at us, no greeting, no smiles. I mentioned my name and reservation time and one girl ran away from the desk without acknowledgement while the other stood there. It took a few minutes for them to bring us to our table and I almost asked if everything was ok, just an odd experience. We sat and our waiter was very pleasant, professional. Got our drinks and took our food order. We got our apps. I had the Oyster Rockefeller and my wife had the Scallops. Both were good, though the pairing on the Scallop dish unique. Not our favorite. After our apps were cleared, we then got bread service. Weird that it did not come when we sat. It was bland and cheap. Our entrees came. I got the Steak Salad which was very good. My wife got the Lobster and Shrimp Pasta. The lobster was like eating rubber bands, the seasoning was flat. We paid and left. On the way out, I made eye contact with the host stand (again still flabbergasted by the socially awkward experience on the way in) and again no recogniztion, no smiles until we were halfway out the door, when we heard “have a good night” over our shoulder. The one cool factor, was the vibe, decor and ambience, but not enough to salvage the night. I worked as a Sous Chef for 12 years, have eaten at numerous restaurants and the whole dining experience was weird. We won’t be back.
We took friends who had never been to Lightfoot and they really enjoyed it! We have been coming for years and always enjoy the great food, great service (we had Laura) and beautiful surroundings.
Always a pleasure
Food was quite good, service was great also. I think the prices could be less, but I will return again.
Travis truly was amazing. He connected with each of us and made the experience feel like home. Thanks for creating an evening.
We were celebrating a 60th Birthday with friends. The food, service , and atmosphere were great! It was a wonderful experience.
Unfortunately was seated in an area where a table of 7 with some large egos where running wild trying to show what awesome people they are. Really do not care about this but the loud and obnoxious conversation was not fitting when trying to have a romantic dinner. Not their fault but the restaurant could have seated us at a different area as there were open tables. As always the food was great but really felt the premium price for dinner should have better ambience. Lightfoot is not an Applebees, at least it hasn't been for the 25 years we have been going there. Hopefully it was an anomaly.
Lightfoot has some of the most inventive salads and sandwiches around. I ordered the fried green tomatoes with shrimp as a light meal: It was delicious, but that request seemed to throw the server for a loop: He pushed me to order more. I asked for a side salad, but only full salads are available: Those are very tasty but huge. Anyway, I persevered and enjoyed my lunch!
