One of our Door County favorites. Ordered from the early dining menu. Meal starts with popovers and subtly flavored maple butter. Such a treat over the typical bread basket. Chose the seasonal salad this visit. Very tasty mix with apple vinaigrette dressing. The filet was perfect, flavorful char and melt in your mouth tenderness topped with bacon blue cheese flavored butter. So good. Friendly attentive server. Food serving was well paced, not rushed or left waiting. My only minor complaint is that I wish the tables were spaced farther apart for more privacy.

Everything about the food was amazing. Our server John was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere was unique, welcoming and cozy. Our only disappointment was a loud drink party got seated across from us. We were celebrating my mom’s 85th birthday and the level of noise was deafening. We were just about to order dessert. When we told our server he said the hostess told him there were no available tables as they were all being taken. So we took our dessert to go. A disappointing ending to an otherwise delicious dining experience.

We were looking for a fish fry on a busy Friday night in Sister Bay. Luckily, we found a reservation at Lure and they were kind enough to seat us a little early. The main dining room is large and energetic. The food and service were both as expected: excellent. The serving of calamari was huge. More than enough for 2 and better shared with 4. Done perfectly and with jalapeño slices for some zing. The perch fish fry was delicious but too much for my wife to finish and the included cherry pie also went home in a box. (It was delicious, too.) The seafood pasta had a thick Alfredo sauce that was definitely made with heavy cream. Plenty of shrimp and scallops included and not overcooked. A nice touch was that the shrimp did not include tails, like so many restaurants do. Removing the shrimp tails in a sauced dish is inconvenient and messy. Kudos to the chef. The waitress was very pleasant, paid attention, and didn’t hover. Well trained and polite. If you are looking for reasonably priced seafood in Door County, Lure is the place to go.

The steaks were fabulous. Barringer whiskey sours were outstanding. Service was top notch Smaller menu, but it allows them to have everything be prepared extremely well. We will be back.

I was disappointed in my grilled shrimp. My husband liked his ribeye but it was not pink and he ordered it medium rare. Did not like that we didn’t have a choice in potatoes. Ordered crab Rangoon for appetizer & it was delicious.
