From the time we enter Cable Restaurant in the Telegraph Hotel until we left two hours later we were impressed. Our waitress, Judy, was patient and knowledgeable, owner, Shaun, stopped by and was a pleasure to learn about the history of the restaurant and we even met his daughter, Jerriann, who will probably be the 6th generation owner. As far as food is concerned we had a wonderful bottle of Valpolicella, great potato-leek soup, a green salad wth some berries that we didn't recognize but enjoyed ( cucamelon and ground cherries), tenderloin steak which was very tender, baked haddock with was very flavorful and two delightful desserts; pot de creme, maple ice cream with meringue surrounding it and a ounce of maple-flavored vodka to pour over it or drink straight. In brief....we had a marvelous experience.

Service and food were great. My only complaint would be the red fabric backs of the booths looked like they had seen better days and couldn’t use a good cleaning or replacing.

The food is hearty and authentic. Absolutely loved the spinach dip and boomers. The pastas and pizzas are fresh and delicious. My server was knowledgeable, very warm and made sure we had everything on time.

WE were greeted when we entered by a very friendly person who verified our reservation and directed to our table.

Everything was great but the only thing is there was a line up to the entrance. Nobody knew that you can reserve on line not even the staff.However we kept saying that we had a reservation and it took us to the front anyway and did not have to wait.
