The best for breakfast, brunch, lunch, high tea, low tea, snacks, with family, friends, business meetings or first dates. Gets very busy but the team are always on point. Bring plenty of money so you can buy their sourdough, rye bread and cakes. Man, those cakes and croissants and have you tried the vegetarian sausage rolls? Heaven on a high street.

A brilliant lunchtime experience. Home made soup and a really great carvery. All with that special atmosphere you only get with ancient oak beams and an open fire. Staff were efficient and attentive. Highly recommended.

We were well looked after, with excellent service. The food was good, and nicely presented; we couldn’t really fault it, apart from perhaps a bit too much salt in everything, but it lacked the wow factor that would have made it special. We dined on two consecutive nights and were a bit disappointed that the ‘daily menu’ was exactly the same both nights.
