The Barn Steakhouse is a “meat-centric hideaway” housed in a 19th century brick barn hidden away down an alley in the middle of Evanston. A homage to owner Amy Morton’s legendary father, restaurateur Arnie Morton (Morton’s Steakhouse), the menu boasts the finest quality ingredients available including prime heritage Angus steaks. As The Barn's menu is ever-evolving, the exact menu may be different when you dine. Featured in the Chicago Tribune and Evanston Now, The Barn is situated in a 19th century building, which was once a horse stable. Its entrance is accessible through the back alleyway for a unique experience. The intimate spot is accessible only through the alley and features soaring ceilings. This eatery also provides seating for up to 100 guests as well as outdoor seating in the garden.

    Fantastic food and service! I loved the shaved Brussel Sprout salad, and my friends loved their meal as well. Have loved sitting outside in the past, but it was raining. I found the indoor ambiance to be a bit cold and industrial. Still, a very nice night. Thanks!

    Amazing experience! the food was delicious, we had the Shrimp and Crab Louie and the Spicy Tuna and Crispy rice appetizer, both outstanding.The entire staff was attentive and the service was fabulous throughout the meal, the were always refilling our Ice Tea and checking in.Highly recommend!

    I asked that my pizza be cooked so that the bottom crust was crisper than usual and they did it and it was wonderful. And our waitress Clara was outstanding, very cheerful and helpful.

    I visited Burl with my gluten free partner, who stated that the gf focaccia bread was the best he ever had. The separate gf menu was accommodating and filled with fantastic options. Lindsay is an incredibly knowledgeable and hospitable server! We will definitely be back!

    Delightful little French gem was a lovely surprise discovery. While not terribly sophisticated or fancy, the food is exquisite- from the “table” pate, through very nice salad vert and pear salads, to the main course pieces de resistance of grilled bone in veal chop and shrimp and scallops skewers to an out of this world creme brulee. Will definitely return.
