Apps and entree were absolutely amazing, however the desserts were lacking on every level. The dessert menu looked like that of Applebees. To have the complexities and depth that the apps, entrees, and drinks all have, then to get to the desserts any find a vanilla bean cheesecake and a brownie Sunday? We were disappointed. We chose the homemade sorbet which was fantastic, as were the rest of our order. We will definitely be back, but are hoping for a better dessert menu when we do

We had a wonderful time and our waitress was wonderful. Music was a little load for me but we could at least have a conversation at our table.

Outstanding meal in a restaurant with superb ambience .

We dined on a Thursday night in November and had a lovely meal. The food was outstanding starting with a sumptuous wedge salad and tasty shrimp cocktail. The leg of lamb was delectable and my ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Our server was very good, although it was a little awkward when he offered to my wife for tasting, the wine that I had ordered. I wish the table had been set with a linen tablecloth - placemats are just not congruent with the otherwise elegant atmosphere. Special kudos to Brian, the manager, who immediately engaged us when the question of gluten sensitivity arose.

We really enjoyed our meals at Canal Side Inn. The food was excellent! Could not have been better. From interesting and fresh soup and salad choices, to well prepared and presented main courses and desserts, everything was great. The atmosphere is like taking a step back in time, with wood paneling and even a full phone booth outside the bar area. The music, tunes I remembered hearing at my grandparent's house, complemented the environment nicely. Tables were beautifully set and the service pleasant and attentive. The only thing that was a slight negative, and due to the age and location of the space, was a musty smell initially upon entering. A little bit like a grandparent's house, too! :) In no way did that impact the overall experience for us, and we will definitely be back.
